Yankee Candles
Andrew Hansen
The favorite of frauen everywhere.
What distinguishes them from any other candle, and why do they inspire frenzy among mug-cradlers?

[quote] What distinguishes them from any other candle
They can be hauled given the fraus' massive, fat bodies.

They're mass produced but they bought up all the better candle suppliers and drove Illuminations out of business.
Woodwick is a brand they bought that has good candles though, I haven't seen that Yankee has cheapened that brand (yet).
I think they are considered a Christian company or something also, which may be appealing to Fraus.

What's "Illuminations", precious? What's "Illuminations"?

Bright Copper Kettles is a flavor? That’s disgusting. People usually want to get away from the foul, metallic taste of copper. Just thinking about it makes me cringe.

| by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 15, 2021 3:18 AM |

R8, are you also a fan of Fortnum and Mason's hampers?

What are you going to do with all those candles? Smell them?
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 15, 2021 3:36 AM |
Yankee Candles are overpriced and nowhere near as good as the competition. The best is Yankee Jr. (Kringle Candles), then DW Home and Glade. Attractive, interesting scents and outstanding throw make them far better value/candles than Yankee.

Too sweet. Yankee Candles smell fat.

When would you ever light a Yankee Candle? I can’t see pulling out a big ass Yankee Candle as your dinner centerpiece. It’s way to bulky and unsexy to light for sex and lovemaking.

Another fucking candle thread? Tell me the fraus haven't taken over, you lying pieces of shit.

R13. Omg, she complained for 12 minutes about Winter Candy Apple and Iced Gingerbread. Okay, her experience was rather inconvenient, but the video was ridiculous and excessive. This is a case of a computer and social media being abused. With her Midwestern accent, she's Wisconsin's obnoxious version of an outraged, past-her-due-date Valley Girl gone bat shit crazy.
Jesus Christ, this woman is eligible to vote. She's part of the swing state of Wisconsin. If she's a Trumper, heaven help us all.
Even the Darfur orphans are rolling their eyes.

How many wicks do these candles have?

Doesn't the word Yankee automatically give some prestige to most anything? Implies New England, class, wealth, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, The Cape, The Berkshires, the Maine coast, prep schools, Topsider boat shoes, Nantucket Red (an actual preppy color?) shorts, etc.
Not that everything and everyone in New England is classy or special, as I live here and can confirm.
I have lived around Boston, Massachusetts (in southern New England, for you foreigners) since age 18 when I arrived for college in 1978, though not born or raised anywhere in New England.
If it were named Panhandle Candles or New Jersey Candles (I'm partly from N.J., so not trying to pick on it), it just wouldn't have the same panache and prestige to most...am I right?
Or am I just being a New England snob?
And Yankee doesn't just refer to New England, correct? Even New Yorkers from the tri-stste area are Yankees, at least to some or most in Florida, the south, southwest or even the midwest, west coast and pacific northwest? And would people from Philadelphia, Baltimore and D C. also be considered Yankees if they moved to most areas of the country?
Sorry to get so off topic, but just wondering...

i've always considered yankee candles kind of mid-tier. Maybe a step above the supermarket candles. There are much better brands to buy.

R20, what is that? She put a lampshade on the candle and it exploded?

Yankee Candles were midline like Macy's in the 70s and 80s but they are utter trash now. Anything that litters outlet malls is trash.
