Wilson Cruz

Writer James Williams

I love him to death and find him easy on the eyes. His public persona makes me want to be BFFs with him. I wonder if he’s as nice off screen. The sexual side of me wanders if he’s a top or bottom. SWOON!

lovely face and beautiful smile

by Anonymousreply 1September 18, 2021 9:53 PM

If he's a top? Oh, my, no.

by Anonymousreply 2September 18, 2021 9:53 PM

He was so incredibly good in My So-Called Life. I haven't seen him in much since and, no, I don't have Paramount + so I haven't watched any of the new Star Treks.

by Anonymousreply 3September 18, 2021 9:54 PM

I remember Cruz in Supernova where he played the techno character and was in love with the mainframe computer, which he called "Sweetie." He was a sweetie then and is surely one now.

by Anonymousreply 4September 18, 2021 9:58 PM

I love him in Star Trek Discovery.

by Anonymousreply 6September 18, 2021 10:02 PM

He's done several episodes of 25 Words or Less

My So Called Life was an incredibly good show and I loved Rickie. I'm not interested in Star Trek so I haven't seen him lately either.

I always get him mixed up with Wilson Jermaine Heredia. Both have done more gay movies than their fans want to watch.

by Anonymousreply 13September 19, 2021 3:03 AM

So sexy and seems so nice

I was always surprised him and the girl that played Rayanne were not Emmy nominated along with Danes for MSCL. They played really unique characters that hadn't been on TV before. I think everyone in jr high or high school experienced the the gay kid that never said anything out loud but hung out with girls and was obviously gay. Now that character is openly gay in teenage shows. Back in the 1990s it was more kids like Ricky.

My So Called Life really didn’t get the appreciation it deserved in its original run.

Call me a Mary, but I remember bawling when the ex-best friend confronted Claire Danes’ character about why she was ditched as a friend. That happened to me. When we moved from elementary school to junior high, my friend joined a new circle of friends. I never had the words to ask him why, but it hurt. That show was the truest portrayal of teenage life I’ve ever seen.

Claire Danes was painfully realistic in the role. Everyone expected she would win the Emmy but back then it was way harder to win as a young performer. Especially for a drama series. Today probably even Jared Leto would've been nominated for the Emmy along with the two mentioned above. Possibly Bess Armstrong who played just the type of mother I saw almost every girl in my high school have.

I hate Wilson Cruz. Of course he had to be the completely out there gay in My So Called Life. Why couldn't Jared Leto be the gay character? I also hated him in Party Monster and everything else I have seen him in. He was out there before a lot of actors, so I give him props, but I'm just not that into him.

I get them both mixed up with Carnie Wilson!

Which one was in Wilson Phillips?

by Anonymousreply 19September 19, 2021 7:29 AM

He has a nice dick. Good length and thickness. Uncut.

by Anonymousreply 20September 19, 2021 7:33 AM

R20 uhhhhh tell me more 😩

by Anonymousreply 21September 19, 2021 8:31 AM

R18 : Just want to be clear about this:

You "hate" Wilson Cruz, but give him "props", but just aren't "into" him....because he's not Jared Leto?

You sound confused.

by Anonymousreply 22September 19, 2021 9:51 AM

How many threads do we need on this has been? Wasn't there just one done a week or so ago?

by Anonymousreply 23September 19, 2021 9:55 AM

You wonder if he's a bottom, OP?

Are you one of those gays who were surprised Sean Hayes was actually gay in real life too?

ps - Joking aside; plenty, and I mean PLENTY, of gay guys are vers. Legitimately vers. All you old-timey binary Top-OR-Bottom gays are baffling.

Don't forget him on Pushing Daisies in a speedo.

by Anonymousreply 25September 19, 2021 11:13 AM

I rarely say hello or bother celebs but I passed by him on the UWS about 15 years and said hello to him . He gave me a big smile. He’s very nice.

by Anonymousreply 26September 19, 2021 11:51 AM

He's a nice looking man but not believable as a doctor on Discovery.

Representation, yes. But, with talent.

by Anonymousreply 27September 19, 2021 11:54 AM

He's not just a top, but a rough daddy top with a firm hand.

*tittering*

I think Claire Danes and Jared Leto, and in a lesser way Cruz, benefited from the show being unrecognized by the industry. It's one of those limited runs that became an instant TV legend, beginning and ending while great and never having a chance to fizzle out as most TV does. Once it was all over, the public wanted more of the show and critics heralded Danes and Leto's performances and their statuses as teen pinups. Danes landed Romeo + Juliet because she could do confused, horny teen angst (Leo lobbied for her to play the role when Natalie Portman was cast and then fired because she looked too young to be paired with Leo) and Leto banked on his bad boy persona at the movies.

I think if they had won the Emmys and the show had gone on, they probably never would have been vollied into the pop culture and industry consciousnesses they were.

And as for Cruz, he will always have a cool factor because his career started with that show (and he was great in it).

by Anonymousreply 29September 19, 2021 12:16 PM

You're not quite right, r29. Even though the show did not initially catch on with the public, it caused a HUGE sensation among critics and in Hollywood among industry insiders. I remember hearing from insiders before it even aired that there was this great show coming down the pike that everyone called "fifteensomething", and that it featured this amazing find of a teenage actress.

I know, that was too strong. I was stoned when I was typing this I give him props for being a blatantly out actor during a period when it was not that acceptable and I appreciate him as a person for that. However, I am not a fan of his or the characters I've seen him play. He was in something else recently - I think he played a lawyer recently. Maybe it was Reese's "Little Fires Everywhere" on Hulu. I think at the time when i was little gayling who loved MSCL, I really wanted a gay character that I related to and was the stereotype that Cruz was.
