I was reading a blogpost from one of his former acting students who said the last time he saw him before he died was in a porn store, where Hickey dropped a bag and a collection of gay porn video tapes fell out. I haven't seen it in a few years, but various characters in THE NAME OF THE ROSE, including Hickey's, are portrayed as gay and lecherous. Great film, though.

Anyway, I just saw PRIZZI'S HONOR again last night and Hickey is great in it. Odd actor.

I studied with Bill Hickey at HB. Big time drinker. I wonder if he drank to alleviate his homosexuality.
