Why lesbians hate bisexuals?
James Williams
Many if not all of my lesbian friends vow to never date them, call them attention seeking and promiscuous, etc. Internet places like Lchat are full of vitriol and hostility towards bi women too. From my experience, gay men are more understanding and open to fellow bi men. Why is that?

Fear of being dumped for men

Mine too, OP.

Why do you think?

Insecurities. Lesbians are afraid of being seen as lesser than men, yet they act and dress like them all the time (excluding the rare femme ones). So when a lady they fancy declare herself to be interested sexually and romantically in men too, they are scared of not being 'men' enough to them. Hence their aggression and prejudice.

I'm a lesbian and I love bisexuals. I'm in a LTR with a lesbian, but flirting is with bisexual women.

Lchat is full of deranged and mentally ill rabid people. They should not be used as a proof of anything, except in the in-depth coverage of fangirl and stan culture.

HAHAHAHAHAHA That has got to be the most disingenious post Ive ever read on DL.

Do they? How do they know?
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 18, 2018 1:07 PM |
This is perhaps one of the few things in which I wish gay men would copy lesbians. This, and stop fawning over straight people and develop more of a separatist mentality.
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 18, 2018 1:11 PM |
Because many women are fake bisexuals, maybe.
| by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 18, 2018 1:11 PM |
Female bisexuality is a cultural commodity, so some women pretend to be bisexual or try to be bisexual, or even believe that they are for a while, to garner male attention.
| by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 18, 2018 1:50 PM |
Some women (luckily few) use bisexuality to lure men. Lesbians are understandably not interested in being part of that.
A woman even now is going to get a lot more mileage and an easier ride in life being in a relationship with a man than with a woman. So lesbians are wary that bisexuals will dump them for the easier option.
There's also the matter of STDs, which women pick up from men a lot more frequently than than they do from other women (lesbians have the least of any group). And occasionally even an unwanted pregnancy. Lesbians have little interest in this sort of health drama.

According to the CDC, lesbians have more STD's than straight women.

R14 You must know only some extremely lewd and immature men to claim they would be more interested in dating a bisexual woman than a heterosexual one. Remember, threesomes do not equal marriage or even long-lasting relationship.
| by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 18, 2018 2:15 PM |
R14 sounds childish and bitter af.
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 18, 2018 2:22 PM |
r4, none of what you wrote is true at all. r13, I don't know what book you read that in but it's bullshit also or maybe it's your own thesis.
r5, can I meet you. R14 is close.
I have tried online dating and the moment a woman finds out that I'm bi, the conversation is done. Which is why that is hard for me when I'm interested in a woman as the topic even if I don't mention it always comes up. When meeting women casually there is a different situation at play. Many lesbians aren't as turned off if they meet you in person and get to talk to you and don't come right out with the question about who you've dated before and if you see men also. It's more an organic courting and they like you before they know and give you a chance.
They don't hate bisexuals but a friend always has a bad story about how some bisexual used her between her relationships with men or left her for a man. There are some bisexuals that even I hate, they want you to join them and their husband and boyfriend, I won't even do that as I don't want to fuck their husband. I'm attracted to men and women and don't want to be with each one at the same time. I am a monogamous creature. But I have to admit, men are easier. Some women are fucking crazy and it's easier to deal with men day to day and also you can have the heterosexual previledge and the nuclear family.
Having said that, the physical attraction to women is a times greater than it is for men. However during certain times of the month its stronger for men. It may be a biological thing that is urging me to procreate, not sure. But I might be a bi to avoid because I really don't want to deal with the chore of being a mind reader, and overly discussing things as much as getting to the physical stuff opposed to an easy to read dude. But who knows maybe some girl will have me so whipped I would do anything. You just never know untill it's that person.
I know many bisexuals in longterm relationships with women that never seem to get counted as successful relationships with women because they are in lesbian relationships so they end up being counted as lesbains although they were bisexuals before they coupled.

Plenty of gay men avoid bisexuals. Here on DL they are labeled flaky troublemakers.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 18, 2018 2:48 PM |
Women pander more to men. It's less acceptable for a man to come out as bi so there are a lot of fake or bicurious women out there who will end up with a man.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 18, 2018 2:58 PM |
It's a lot easier for a woman to fall in and out of gay relationships than it is for men.
A "str8 man" has to keep his bisexuality under wraps (we all know why) - but a "str8" woman can brag about having had affairs with women. It often makes her seem sexy and liberated to the straight world - not so for a man. For a man it's a VERY big deal and generally responded to negatively.
Just as a female child can appear quite masculine and tomboy-ish and it's totally acceptable - amusing, even. If a boy does so, it's "something we should be worrying about". Maybe a little less so now.
Same thing a girl can wear her brother's or boyfriend's old sweater and jeans and it's fine - but a man can't wear his sister's dress. I mean, he can, but...

Many gays (& DLers) seem to think there's no such thing as a bi man. Very odd.

I am not immature or bitter. Just not interested in being treated like a second choice/sexual side piece by self-serving bisexual women who wind up with a man most of the time. Calling it the way I see it in time-honored DL fashion.
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 18, 2018 3:17 PM |
I think it depends on the person. Some people just cheat because they have the option and some people don't because they love their partner and only want to be with them and no one else.

During the times you are interested in dating women, why wouldn't you look to date other bisexual women? Am I missing something because that would seem like an easy solution if you are finding lesbians to be uninterested.
| by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 18, 2018 5:12 PM |
Some gay man believe in heterosexual superiority and privilege, and genuinely believe that the straighter a man is, the hotter he is.
Lesbians aren't that stupid.

r26, they don't exactly where signs. The ones that do are looking for 3somes.

Because bisexuals are needy, attention seeking and hyper sexual. And bi women ALWAYS end up with men. ALWAYS.

[quote][R26], they don't exactly where signs. The ones that do are looking for 3somes.
r29, wait, let me get this straight, you, a bisexual woman, are saying the only other bisexual women you can find online are those married to men looking for threesomes?
| by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 19, 2018 4:20 AM |
R32, I think if that's what R29 was saying, it'd be what R29 said. Instead, she's pointed out that there's no unique and distinctive 'look' common to all bisexual women, and that the type of person to make a big deal, up front about being a bi woman, is often the less stable type of woman who's looking for a marital aid/to impress their boyfriend.
Honesty is important. Bi women who say they're bi are fine. Straight women who say they're bi are tiresome. Bi women who say they're lesbian and then join in to abuse actual lesbians for being homo*sexual* and not into ladycock, are backstabbing, man-pleasing, homophobic creeps.

Maybe, provided they don't end up battered, or killed.
| by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 19, 2018 5:33 AM |
Most bisexual people end up with the opposite gender. The actual statistics show its over 90% for both genders. It’s just more socially acceptable to end up in the standard white picket fence, suburban marriage arrangement. Add into that the attention seeking blue haired Twitter morons, the creepers with boyfriends etc., and honestly even as a bi woman I completely understand the reluctance.

[quote] [R13], I don't know what book you read that in but it's bullshit also or maybe it's your own thesis.
It's not bullshit. A lot of women who identify as bisexual in their teens or twenties, leave that identity as they get older.
This is from a New Zealand study. Notice how, between the ages of 32 and 38, only the number of bi women declined in all LGB categories:
[quote]Sexual identity was only assessed at ages 32 and 38. At age 32, 0.9% of women and 1.3% of men self-identified as gay, and 2.9% of women and 1.7% of men as bisexual. Additionally, 1.5% of women and 2.2% of men identified as "other". At age 38, 1.1% of women and 1.7% of men self-identified as gay, and 2.6% of women and 3% of men as bisexual, with 1.1% of women and 0.2% of men identifying as "other".
Women are extremely susceptible to social cues. If you paint female bisexuality as chic and cool, you'll have more women identifying as bi. The same thing is now happening with trans identity, which is why the number of girls thinking they're trans boys is skyrocketing.

Most bisexuals are crazy. They really ARENT bisexual by nature. It is by way of being abused. So....

| by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 20, 2018 5:32 PM |
Yes R36 - so true. There seem to be more younger lesbians who want to transition instead of being butch lesbians. And let's not get started about the trans women invading lesbian spaces.
Most gay men don't trust bi men either. They're usually closeted and will always go back to a woman also. BUT will most likely still fool around with men behind their wives' backs.
It's disingenuous behavior - and gays and lesbians know it. There's far too much evidence in front of our own eyes to convince us otherwise. Not that the bi's don't keep trying.
