Why is chuck roast so expensive?
William Jenkins
It’s like $20 for just 3 pounds and isn’t even really that great tasting of a meat.

Meat has gotten so much more expensive lately.
A brisket used to be around 30 bucks now I’m lucky if I find one for less than 50 😳

R1 It’s ridiculous, isn’t it? The only meat that’s stayed cheap is chicken (they better not raise the price on that either!😡)

I love oxtails and went to Philadelphia’s Italian Market to buy some yesterday. $25 for the whole tail. Oxtails used to be poor peoples food. What happened?

There are literally thousands of recipes for chicken thighs.
They’re pretty cheap at Costco, too.
Even if a recipe calls for boneless, skinless,I still use the bone-in, with skin thighs. They’re a huge size as well.

Seems like cooking shows always recommend chuck roast. (Possible reason for increased demand and higher prices.) Frankly, I don't like chuck roast that much.
