I’m inclined to agree, R2. In other sources it states specifically the musician was a singer, and Jani thought he was going to hang out with someone he’d idolized growing up. So this had to be someone who was already a name before then. I also considered Tommy Lee, but they were just becoming big.

However, did KISS do that scene then? Seems they would have already been too big? But they and Crue had the same manager (Doc McGhee).
