His gallery in Palm Springs closed a few years ago. If his Wikipedia page is to be believed, these days he's living in Carmichael, California -- a Sacramento bedroom community.

He was interviewed in the HBO documentary What Happened, Brittany Murphy, using his real name Bruce Bibby. Before that doc, I hadn't thought about him in years. Seeing him and hearing his voice in that interview instantly took me back in time to E! and The Awful Truth.

Oh my God, the Ted Translator. And TOOTHY TILE! We spent so much time arguing the nuances of Toothy and Baby Tile and the pros and cons (mostly pros) of sex in public places. The Awful Truth was a must-read column. I don't think I have one of those anymore.

Ted's writing was an acquired taste but once I had acquired it I loved it. I loved him back when he was with the Hollywood Kids too.

I even sent him an item once and he ran it. (About Aaron Spelling putting a minder on Yasmine Bleeth to try to calm down her coke habit and make her show up for work, I think it was her - so long ago I don't even remember.)
