Who's the better actress? Any why do you think Viola has been showered with awards and nominations but not so much Angela?

It's become popular to hate on her here, but the answer is definitely Viola Davis. Which is not to take away anything from Bassett who is very talented.

Angela is one note. She just gets up there and does what she does.

Viola has a great understanding of the work required to turn out a performance. She understands acting. She’s an actor.

Angela is a performer.

Alfrie is also an actor.

There are few places where these 3women intersect in terms of being right for the same roles. So why even compare them?

Alfre excels in every role - from John Sayles' bayou drama bullshit to a Star Trek movie. Hell, she was even great opposite Bill Murray in "Scrooged." She can do it all!
