Was he raped in prison? The story I heard on one of the hip hop forums was that he was attacked and raped in jail; afterwards Suge Knight came to see him and offered to pay his bail, while also taking care of his mother Afeni.

Tupac was desperate to get out of jail after the rape and that’s why he ended up signing with death row.

Didn’t his mother treat him like shit. I remember reading some interview with his father a couple of years after he died, and he stated that Afeni was a drug addict who constantly bullied him, forcing Tupac to help provide for the whole family from a very young age. He also said his half brothers and sisters resented him because Tupac was more light skinned and talented than the rest of them.

Of course that doesn’t excuse his father who had nothing to do with his son hole he was growing up.

Before he got famous the rest of the family treated him like shit. Afeni was a hardcore drug addict and the rest of the family seemed to dislike Tupac because unlike the rest of them, he had some ambition and potential. His father has even stated in interviews that they “hated on him” (his words) because he wasn’t as “dark and ugly as the rest of them”. It was only later when he got some fame and money that they sucked it up in order to leach of him.

R19) Tupac had only one bio sib on his mother's side, and that was Sekwiya. He had an older stepbrother, Komani, who performed in a lot of his songs.
