I've always felt sorry for him, after reading his first book and what he's gone through in life. He had to forgive his brother and "save" him while he was in prison for killing their mother. Then his other brother committed suicide. I got the feeling Thom could've had a good life if he went the casting couch, marrying for money route but he (apparently) never did because he was constantly short of cash and did lots of charity things where he'd paint pictures to raise money for others. That last book of his, though -- the one where he talks about all of his sexual adventures -- was awful. Clinical. Not a turn on at all. Just . . . sad. Still, he's a sympathetic figure to me, even if he's a big old attention whore.
