"The Starlet is a reality television program on The WB that premiered on March 6, 2005.
Ten young actresses lived together in a home formerly owned by Marilyn Monroe, while competing in a series of acting challenges for the chance to win a role on the WB drama One Tree Hill and a management contract with 3 Arts Entertainment.
Hosted by Katie Wagner, the girls were judged by a panel composed of actresses Faye Dunaway, and Vivica A. Fox, along with casting director Joseph Middleton. The show was a creation of Jamie Kennedy. Jaime Pressly, Days of Our Lives's Matt Cedeño, David Gallagher and Adam LaVorgna from The WB's 7th Heaven also made guest appearances. The eventual winner was 18-year-old Michelynne McGuire, with Mercedes Connor as the runner up.
The Starlet was cancelled on April 5, 2005 after only 1 season of 6 episodes."

Vivica and Faye were actually very sweet and nurturing to the contestants, it was the male judge who was the real bitch. That gay dancer who works with Erika Jane (Mikey?) was the choreographer and was also way harsher than was necessary. I loved this show and I even called the UPN after it aired to see if they were doing a second season.

The contestants on "The Starlet" perform a weekly screen test and then endure harsh critiques from Ms. Dunaway, the actress Vivica A. Fox and the casting director Joseph Middleton. The best performer wins a night away from the blow-drying and bellyaching of her fellow contestants in a private room, the Diva Suite.
And that kind of designation is one Ms. Dunaway is only too ready to bestow to someone else. "I have been called a diva. Me!" she said during a late-afternoon chat at Hugo's, a West Hollywood cafe. "I actually passed that mantle on to Sharon Stone. I said: 'You can have it! I don't want it!' I just want to be 'Faysie.' I just want to be a li'l girl."

I loved this as a young gayling. I need to rewatch it.
I've seen a few interviews in recent years with Viv and she has spilled the tea and been very open about how 'challenging' Faye was to work with. But still seems to hold her in high regard and respect her knowledge of the craft of acting. They were a surprisingly fun duo. I agree the guy was not up to their level.
Here is one, she talks about other legends like Patti Labelle but the Dunaway part is at 3:44. I also remember an episode where one of the contestants got a little attitude with Faye and Vivica put her in her place and told her to show some respect.

I remember watching and liking this show. There weren't many fireworks, but I do remember when the redheaded girl starting cunting at Faye, and being surprised that it was Vivica who started cunting back (on Faye's behalf), while Faye just shrugged it off. I don't remember feeling any certain way about the girl who won, but her acting in that youtube clip is fucking abysmal.

Why oh why can't some ageing gay producer/casting maven throw us Dataloungers a bone and cast Faye in one of these Book Club-type Diane Keaton ensemble concept old bag comedies? Imagine Faye loftily grimacing over a humongous glass of oaky chardonnay in a pottery barn porn kitchen set during some thigh slapping antics where old age gass passing is hilariously debated "I. Don't. Fart" huffs Faye as the chorus to Mercy by Duffy kicks in and Vanessa Williams and Reba Mcintyre choke on pretzels and Diane Keaton rolls her eyes while deftly manoeuvring her gloves to cover up the liver spots.
