I remember when that was created. One of the driving agents was an authenticated called Mizez Slocombe - a tribute to some middling English sitcom, much the same mode as the present Saliva Fouler, could be one and the same, as (s)he was one of the most obnoxious characters ever to haunt this place. She carried on about that entry like she was painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel... rushing back and forth between the post and here to draft content, put it up for comment (and praise at her cleverness, plainly), and then hurtling off like Aunt Pittypat fleeing Sherman, to glue it on there. I have a vague memory of Wikipedia editors taking a hacksaw to it, so overwrought and self-congratulatory her monument became. A pile of babble if not a tower. It was absurd.

Anyway, it came about because the idiot webmaster thought the increase of EST accusations were just more Noodles-type trolling, but in reality it was a huge influx of racists posting racist ESTs of the "I was stuck in line behind a dark black Negro welfare queen dripping in jewels at the Piggly Wiggly" type.
I don't know if he eventually figured it out, just got lazy, sobered up, or forgot he even made the threat in the first place, but the webmaster never banned anyone for accusing another of being an EST.
The whole thing about "The site did once have an EST" is just gibberish. No one ever thought there was only one elaborate scenario troll. There may have been someone who was the first accused of posting an EST, but the site was always allegedly about "collaborative fiction" and there were always ESTs of some type being posted.
That entry is a mess, has been for 15 years.
