joan is one of the nicest people i have ever met. used to come to a restaurant i worked and was always packed. went outside to get the next person on the waiting list and saw her. the wait was over an hour that night. i asked her why she didn't let me know she was here and she said everyone else was waiting and she would just wait her turn. she was awesome.

My sister saw him once on a Metra train (that's a Chicago commuter train as opposed to the "El") heading north out of downtown.
He was not sitting down but standing in the vestibule of the car. She was about to alight at the next stop. She told me she recognized him (she's not a huge movie fan) and they made eye contact. I think he kinda nodded at her and she just got off at her stop and he stayed on the train which continued northbound.

I think that John is an underrated actor. I watched The Number Station on YouTube and he was really good in it. It was kind of formulaic, but he he did really well.

Have only heard good things about Joan. I have a friend who lives on the north side of Chicago, and she said that she sees Joan with her family at church. They are act and are treated as normal everyday members of the parish. Joan's fame is treated as no big deal to the people around her, and she is thought of as sweet.

I believe he briefly dated Meg Ryan a few years after her Russell Crowe debacle, when she was in full "I want to be relevant again" mode.

The only nasty stuff I've heard about Joan is that she would have to shoo away loiterers and other people from her house in Lakeview - usually drunk people. Not sure what she thought would happen in such an accessible neighborhood - but that's the only negative stuff I've heard.
