Tasteful Friends...Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi's $13 million, 10,000 sqft "Mediterranean style" property hits the market

Writer Daniel Martin

they're now bankrupt

the chapel room makes me giggle. I like the room though but I'd do something practical with the space rather than some bs prayer area

Beautiful setting. Looks like most of the interior needs a good cleaning.

Surprisingly tasteful though the tv at the end of the bed is quite disturbing. The Mr. must be nearly blind.

[quote] In the months since, the once-famed attorney, who is reportedly suffering from Alzheimer’s, was placed under a conservatorship run by his brother, Robert Girardi

Why not his wife?

There are some gorgeous homes in Pasadena. This is in a particularly lovely area.

In the first season Erica was on, or maybe it was the second, she intimated that the house was in disrepair and needed to be fixed up. Last season you really could see it was a mess. I'm figuring repairs and any needed retrofitting will be at least 2 million more right there. Totally worth it in the right hands. That's a hard house to fuck up. Now, watch. Some rich trash with tragic taste will buy it and totally destroy the character.

I want to know what's under the glass floor in the chapel. Or did I miss something on the recent "Where is Jesus' foreskin?" thread?

House seems dark, esp. for California. Not enough windows. The exterior of the house lacks visual interest.

My opinions.

Pasadena? Isn't that like Bakersfield?

by Anonymousreply 7May 7, 2021 4:28 AM

R6 It gets hot in Pasadena. Most of the old houses were built to accommodate that without having A/C, so you do see that reflected in the size of the windows and window placement. Also the use of tile, the thickness of the walls, it's very traditional old California/Spanish Colonial with a few wee twists.

Check out the older houses in Ojai sometime if you ever come to visit. Some gorgeous Spanish Colonial buildings. (Do NOT come in mid summer!)

Trust me, you get glad really fast for the the cool "darkness". The sun is unrelenting.

Southern California, well, most of California really, has many micro-climates. Just 30 miles in any given direction can be quite startling in variances of temperature.

R8 makes you wonder how Pasadena ended up as such a wealthy area if the weather gets so bad in the summer

[quote]Nearby, a formal dining room with a tray ceiling can be found

When is a tray ceiling a good idea? Never, not even in tacky Atlanta or Texas.

Tray ceiling and some relatively few it seems post-1928 mishaps that are easily enough undone, the house itself isn't bad. A better, more promising exterior than interior, but not bad.

The decoration is in the style of lottery winners, but that will all disappear.

But who are these vulgar people?

by Anonymousreply 10May 8, 2021 8:01 AM

The shutters on the front annoy me, but something is needed to keep it from looking like a public library.

The furniture is strip mall and I didn’t notice any art.

Did he stash money away offshore or did they really piss away $56 million?

by Anonymousreply 11May 8, 2021 8:22 AM

It really could be a lot worse.

Strip out the offensive furnishings and you'd be able to do something with it.

by Anonymousreply 12May 8, 2021 8:43 AM

Poor Erika, from glam team to buying Revlon Make-up at Walmart. We don’t know what she goes through at night!

by Anonymousreply 13May 8, 2021 11:36 AM

I agree with r6 the exterior is bland, and is practically begging for a Porte Cochere. The rooms are generous, but the “upgrades” all look like Ikea/Target shelving bolted in. It is decorated like a Hiliday In. Express. The pool house/poor and gardening is lovely although swimming pools aren’t a feature i care about.
