Stranger Things Season Four
Daniel Martin
[quote]Why does Charlie Heaton look so bad? Know he's supposed to be a major stoner now but that doesn't cover it.
I remember right before the launch of the third season that he was almost denied an entry visa into the US for the premiere (he's British) because he had several arrests for drug possession. (Which would explain why he looks like shit and why Jonathan has been so plainly backburnered this year.)
[quote]Eddie is likely a few years older to boot, even if he is a senior.
They joked several times that he'd failed his senior year repeatedly, so yes, Eddie is supposed to be older.
[quote]The part that made me laugh out loud was when Steve was about to dive in the water to get to the watergate and had taken his shirt off and Dustin and Lucas were talking about his chest hair and Max says “let me see” and takes the binoculars and just watches him silently for a long moment.
LOVED that, but don't forget Dustin's line, "When did Steve get so hairy?" (Probably a decade earlier, given that Joe Keery's 30.)
[quote]Obviously Will will get Mike. What else is the point of him not loving El? And yes, some boys kissed boys, even in the 80s. Hell, even in the 1780s.
Oh FFS. Mike still loves El; they've merely been problems making a long-distance relationship work. It's Netflix, not Logo – and "Stranger Things," not "Euphoria" – so I'd be surprised if Will gets any kind of kiss, period (and certainly nothing more than that - he's supposed to be 15, and the last thing Netflix needs is right-wingers accusing them of pushing some absurd "grooming" storyline).
[quote]No other explanation that makes sense.
Except for the "incredibly awkward teenager" one that instantly occurred to me, as well as the immediate poster afterwards.
[quote]I agree that Joe Keery and Sadie Sink are the only two of the teens/kids who are good looking. They both can act pretty well too. Though Maya Hawke looks good in some angles and Noah Schnapp would be a lot more attractive if they let him have a better haircut - why are they making the nerdy closeted gay kid also look intentionally ugly?
Oh good lord. They're supposed to be NERDS, PEOPLE! Back in the '80s nerds weren't good-looking! So: Steve & Max are hot, but OTOH neither of them are nerds. Considering she's the child of Ethan Hawke and, more importantly, Uma Thurman, I have to disagree that Maya Hawke only looks good "in some angles" (more like all). And what, Will's the only one with a bad haircut? Most of them have cheesy, dated haircuts, from Steve's mullet to Lucas's high-top (and Nancy and her mom have classic "fried mall perm" hair).
If any of you bitches went to school in the '80s and still have your yearbooks, you might be in for a shock at how accurate the hair & costumes are.
[quote]I'm more shocked that the show expects us to believe Erica is 11 in season 4 than the way she talks.
Why? That's how the boys talked in S1 when they were 12. Or should Erica talk more delicately because she's female? (Point being: kids all cuss, especially when their parents aren't around.)
[quote]So did Eleven CREATE the Upside Down??
Oh FFS. (Again.) No, El didn't create the Upside-Down. It's been there the whole time. What she did was open a portal to it in the process of taking out One (#1?). That was in 1979. Four years later the government was actively (but covertly) trying to figure out how to weaponize it, which was when Will was first taken into it. We don't yet know things like why it exists; how #1/Vecna ended up there (and whether he/it controls the whole thing); or even why time seems to have stopped in the Upside-Down in '83 on the day Will was taken. (It's probably more complicated than merely, "El opened it up.")
[quote]So “Byler” is Will and Hopper? What a vile bottom cunt, stealing his mama’s man and his fag hag’s father. I’d watch that sex tape though.
I'm guessing this is a joke, but just in case: Will BYers + Mike WheeLER = "Byler."
