I'll probably skip it. I thought the first season was mediocre. Great acting, but incoherent storytelling that didn't follow its own internal logic.

My prediction: Season two will be a colossal letdown and permanently damage the show's reputation. The seasons following it will be better but the hype will be long gone and thus will never fully return to the glory days of the first season.

It got a B from the AV Club.

I was certain I heard somewhere that critics wouldn't be getting screeners of the second season in advance but I guess that info was wrong.

I'm actually worried about it keeping so much of before. My ideal image of a second season was something in between keeping everything and being an anthology. Like, move out of the same town but instead move to a city, keep some of the characters but leave others behind (at least until a third or fourth season), etc. Tap into fan favorites without dragging too long with specific things just around for nostalgia (which runs out anyway; see how they're moving out of D&D and onto Ghostbusters at least).

First episode started with heavy handed music and when it turned more serious it got much better.

I hope Sean Astin dies soon and Paul Reiser ain’t no Matthew Modine.

Still at the end Of chapter 1 I was crying like a baby. I love this show so much.

Chapter 3 is very good. Not even directed by the brothers.

Winona is better this year. I’m liking Nancy also after I was sincerely worried about the actress being too thin. David Harbour could lose a few pounds. Barb is getting a storyline but I assume she doesn’t appear.

Astin is playing an annoying character too convincingly. He is much better in chapter 3.

The hot blonde bully has strange hair I can’t stop staring at. It’s like they gave him a mullet but changed it with CGI maybe because in IT there was also a hot blonde bully with a mullet.

Finished it just now. I still wish this was a weekly show because I skipped a lot of the dialogue even though I've been waiting for over a year for another instalment. Just couldn't help myself.

Anyway, this was in my opinion neither better nor worse than the first season; it was on the exact same level of quality. Which is extremely rare for any show to achieve, especially a show as hyped as this one. I enjoyed it from beginning to end, even the New York detour.

I just wish they had made the young Zac Effron homosexual. Being excluded from this is really starting to bum me out.

So, the hot blonde bully with the mullet .... is totally gay, right? Obviously a closet case, but he was checking out Steve pretty hard in that shower scene, and seeing the bulge Steve was sporting in his jeans later on I can see why. I thought at first he might have been abusing the redhead little girl, but I'm guessing he's her stepbrother or something? I'm only up to ep 5.

The stuff they are putting Will and Eleven through is really horrific, though. One could say that Will's storyline where he's being haunted by the Upside Down place is an analogy to being sexually abused. He has all the signs and the PTSD. It's really quite disturbing, especially that scene at the end of the fourth episode. Jesus.

I loved the sassy little sister I wish she had a bigger part. She reminded me of the wonderful Dee from What’s Happening.

I take back all the bad stuff I said about Astin. I like him now even though he seems to be written out now. I’m on chapter 6 and waiting to watch the last ones I will be sad when it’s over and have to wait a year.

I’m not crazy about El’s storyline. Is Harbour her father? The scenes with her mother was done so well last year not so much this year.

I was hoping Eleven (the name I prefer) and Max would have scenes together and we would have some sisterhood looks like that isn’t happening.

I like diversity when good actors get cast who normally wouldn’t but to have an interracial relationship in the 80s like it was no big deal needs better writing.

Why does Eleven’s sister and her gang have strange hairstyles ?

Millie Bobby Brown is so great. I hope she has a long career.
