I would pay top dollar to see Woody and Matthew McConaughey bang.
| by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 26, 2023 1:32 AM |
Thanks OP for the thread.
| by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 26, 2023 4:13 AM |
In what costume does Bowen appear this week? Dilbert? SoCal snowman?
| by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 26, 2023 4:28 AM |
Maybe Shelley Long will make a cameo and Woody will bang her in a skit.
| by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 26, 2023 4:28 AM |
Oblivious Trump was a boring Cold Open.
Blame it on the dog but they're all dead.
Stopped short.
| by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 26, 2023 4:36 AM |
I wouldn't give him the jacket either.
| by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 26, 2023 4:39 AM |
This guy nails Trump perfectly, but I think to the point of it not coming off as fun satire enough unless the skit involves him playing off 1 or more others talking with him with a lot of dialogue all through the segment.
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 26, 2023 4:39 AM |
What the fuck is this monologue?
| by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 26, 2023 4:43 AM |
Last time was the Coldplay Twink. Now Woody wants us to see his straight "friend"...oh my...
Offsite Link| by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 26, 2023 4:44 AM |
The new TMobile commercial with Travolta is kinda cute.
| by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 26, 2023 4:45 AM |
His monologue was comparable to a stoned asshole who stumbles into the diner after the bars have closed. Sits his ass down in the next booth, starts talking and wont shut the hell up.
| by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 26, 2023 4:46 AM |
“New Ben Auditions” haha
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 26, 2023 4:55 AM |
The Stakeout answered A LOT of questions. Not surprised.
| by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 26, 2023 4:56 AM |
Keenan looses consciousness and joins the audience reaction.
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 26, 2023 4:58 AM |
So far the Farrel Zombie commercial was the best.
| by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 26, 2023 5:02 AM |
The guy who does Trump is so good it's scary. It's not even funny. It's just...disturbingly accurate.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 26, 2023 5:03 AM |
The “Go All Out” commercials make me want to throw my table through the TV.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 26, 2023 5:04 AM |
A Cologuard SCAT commercial.
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 26, 2023 5:09 AM |
Jack Whites yellow teeth gross me out.
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 26, 2023 5:12 AM |
Dark and disgusting. There are so many avenues for comedy SNL can go down before they have to resort to scat humor.
I sense Sarah Sherman's "body horror" bullshit again. It's never funny.
| by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 26, 2023 5:14 AM |
Johnny Depp sounds great!
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 26, 2023 5:14 AM |
Jack White has never been my thing, but how does he have such good skin at age 47?
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 26, 2023 5:18 AM |
Jack White is 47 years old and looks 55. He is the old guy who still thinks he is the queen of the ball.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 26, 2023 5:19 AM |
Jack White was good. Actual talent after a bunch of forced wannabes.
| by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 26, 2023 5:20 AM |
This is a VERY, very stoned episode.
| by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 26, 2023 5:26 AM |
I agree, R31 — all the material is so bizarre and meandering.
| by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 26, 2023 5:30 AM |
Dark, dark, dark shit.
Scat, racial slurs, and incest.
This is not enjoyable to watch.
| by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 26, 2023 5:37 AM |
Kids in high school detention this academic year should be punished with having to watch this episode.
| by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 26, 2023 5:40 AM |
This current SNL cast and the show’s writers are simply dismal, there’s just this dull lack of connection, and no energy. It’s had ups and downs for its entire run, but man, the last few episodes have been really awful.
| by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 26, 2023 5:58 AM |
And a homophobic closer. Worst episode in a while.
| by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 26, 2023 5:59 AM |
this was awful
the host and musical act should have been left in 2003
| by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 26, 2023 6:00 AM |
They had Colin's wife give Stoney the jacket?
| by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 26, 2023 6:02 AM |
Low bar for sure, but I thought this was a great SNL episode! Not sure what some of you were watching.
| by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 26, 2023 6:03 AM |
Love it: Hearing audience cheering the closer, and then the camera pans out showing everyone just silently sitting and slouching forward there. Gotta train your interns to be a little lighter with their feet on that ol’ laugh-track sweetening pedal, SNL. ;)
| by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 26, 2023 6:04 AM |
Never perform when high or tipsy, Woody, it throws off comic timing. Not that the material could have been saved.
| by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 26, 2023 6:05 AM |
Lousy episode. Dismal is the word. There's no joy in the show anymore.
| by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 26, 2023 6:06 AM |
Jack White showed a nice thick VPL during the goodnights.
Have his nudes ever leaked?
| by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 26, 2023 6:06 AM |
[quote] There's no joy in the show anymore.
Just a few weeks ago we were hearing from DLers that the Pedro Pascal episode was the best in years.
What short memories some of you have.
| by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 26, 2023 6:07 AM |
This current cast are duds, performance abilities are mediocre and none of the new additions are likable. Very unpleasant bunch, and they make the bad material sound even worse!
| by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 26, 2023 6:09 AM |
Don’t blame the cast; it was bad host and musical guest. I’ve liked Woody and Jack in the past but not tonight.
| by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 26, 2023 6:13 AM |
The dullest episode of the season. Listless
| by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 26, 2023 6:15 AM |
when he talked about believing in guns in the opening I knew this episode would be basura
| by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 26, 2023 6:16 AM |
R46, oh I’ll blame the fucking awful cast too.
| by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 26, 2023 6:21 AM |
R36–And let’s not forget the Irish/alcoholic joke in the monologue.
Last bastion where it is fine to make an ethnic joke. Can you imagine the uproar if he had inserted *any* other ethnicity in that spot?
| by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 26, 2023 6:32 AM |
I think it’s neither the cast’s, the hosts’, or the show and it’s writers’ fault, really. It’s just times have changed and, although I thought I’d never notice or say it, “SNL” just seems outdated and irrelevant now. Maybe bc we’re in the social media inclg iPhones age, everyone seems disconnected on the show and the skits have become almost entirely mimicking of every real-life media event and program, without much fresh and clever creativity. The whole enterprise has become so solidly corporate now. I’m actually resigned to, and sensing the cast is channeling it morale-wise and maybe know it unbeknownst to us already, that Season 50 will eventually be the show’s last — at least maybe in its current incarnation or time slot? — and will finally be cancelled, or maybe shortened to an hour, or something by NBC by then.
| by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 26, 2023 6:35 AM |
Has there ever been a more insufferable cast member than Bowen Yang?
| by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 26, 2023 6:35 AM |
[quote] Last bastion where it is fine to make an ethnic joke.
You poor, poor dears. How you do suffer!
| by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 26, 2023 6:39 AM |
SNL and NBC really makes a mistake in showing the 10pm Classic SNL episodes because we can see how much better they were even 7 years ago.
| by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 26, 2023 6:50 AM |
[quote]Jack White showed a nice thick VPL during the goodnights. Have his nudes ever leaked?
Groupie Central groupies posted about JW's cock. I don't remember everything they had to say. IIRC, he's long but not thick. Perhaps it's archived somewhere.
| by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 26, 2023 7:29 AM |
How nice that SNL decided to give Woody a platform for his antivax bullshit.
Offsite Link| by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 26, 2023 8:49 AM |
yeah right wing freaks on twitter are praising him
Lorne is such an asshole
| by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 26, 2023 9:05 AM |
I don’t get Woody’s appeal. The only thing I think he’s been good in was Cheers. He’s a mediocre actor with limited range. And a nut, too.
| by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 26, 2023 9:59 AM |
R57 Lorne lost his edge 15 years ago.
| by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 26, 2023 10:03 AM |
R58 but but but White Men Can't Jump is LEGENDARY! BEST movie ever! A classic!
| by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 26, 2023 10:31 AM |
Every week the same crotchety old coots in these threads. WHY DO YOU KEEP WATCHING?
Offsite Link| by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 26, 2023 11:06 AM |
The gym sketch was honestly funny. The only time I laughed for 90 minutes. Oh, and the Jeff Koons one-liner.
| by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 26, 2023 5:43 PM |
Sounds like a whole lot of smirking mediocrity. Overrated, outdated, lazy and cynical humor. That Trump cold opening went on too long.
I wish it were funnier, and have for 20 years or so.
| by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 26, 2023 5:53 PM |
This wasn't the best episode, but at least they were trying to take risks with new sketches that weren't game shows or morning talk shows.
| by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 26, 2023 6:01 PM |
We gave you gold, you gave us shit jokes. Thanks, I guess.
| by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 26, 2023 6:08 PM |
Marcello and Andrew in the navy sketch looked and sounded hot.
| by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 26, 2023 6:08 PM |
How did the audience react to the monologue?
| by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 26, 2023 6:38 PM |
r68, I believe someone above said that they used a laughtrack.
| by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 26, 2023 9:38 PM |
R54 those episodes are better because they are edited.
| by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 26, 2023 11:01 PM |
Woody Harrelson hosting? Is it 1994?
Who's hosting next week? Andrew "Dice" Clay?
| by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 27, 2023 10:43 PM |
I like Woody, but the show was not good because of him or the writers, I guess. Woody's opening monologue was awful. The cold open making fun of Trump was quite good. Jack White's music sucks. Who is he anyway? Heidi and her good-for-nothing son on Weekend Update was funny.
| by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 28, 2023 1:29 AM |
Bowen: The gym is so upscale it should be called 'James.' Funny, clever line.
| by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 28, 2023 1:30 AM |
His opening monologue was one of the all-time worst.
| by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 28, 2023 3:29 AM |
[quote]The cold open making fun of Trump was quite good.
And yet really not funny at all.
| by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 28, 2023 3:31 AM |
He intimated on Seth's show last night the entire cast was high for Saturday's SNL. That explains a lot.
| by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 28, 2023 6:26 PM |
The sketch with the writers early in the show was brilliant.
| by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 28, 2023 6:27 PM |
Jack White was going to save rock n roll but instead he had a few hits, made some noise, and then got really boring really fast
| by Anonymous | reply 79 | February 28, 2023 6:33 PM |

Two marriages and kids will do that to you. At least he runs an indie record company and gets obscure music out to people.
Jack did have two offshoot bands after The White Stripes split, what happened to The Raconteurs and the Dead Weather?
| by Anonymous | reply 81 | March 5, 2023 8:42 PM |
That would be, three marriages for Jack White, he recently married some female musician.
