Thank you for using the easy to find Header OP. Well done.
| by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 4, 2022 3:04 AM |
You're welcome, R2. I'm the original starter of these SNL threads and also prefer my header but someone else started creating them a while back using a different format, so I leave it alone to avoid duplicate threads. This week, however, I checked and there was nothing, so I went for it.

Kind of wish they would skip politics as the opener for a bit. It's getting old.
| by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 4, 2022 4:32 AM |
Glad Herschel brought up "the erection".
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 4, 2022 4:34 AM |
Can they do ANYTHING original? Does every opener always have to be a direct satire on everything? Yeezsh.
| by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 4, 2022 4:34 AM |
Whoever suggested that outfit to Keke needs to be slapped.
| by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 4, 2022 4:37 AM |
they made Blackburn seem too normal in the opener
love Keke. She is so pretty and bubbly
| by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 4, 2022 4:37 AM |
Uh, R9, it's a sketch show... that is of the moment...it's live...it's Saturday Night Live...sheesh.
| by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 4, 2022 4:38 AM |
R12 agree. Don't they color check these outfits for how they will look under the lighting on stage?

it had been rumored for weeks she's pregnant because normally she has a nice svelte figure
lucky baby daddy whoever he is
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 4, 2022 4:42 AM |
Bowen Yang needs to fly to London as soon as this episode is over as a certain movie starts filming next week.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 4, 2022 4:44 AM |
I didnât say anything about them needing to stop being live, uhmm, R14âgawwwd. ;) I meant the obvious, ie that EVERY live opening is lately always only about directly parroting back a satire of something that has actually happened, ie, no originality on their live-opening writing part.

R21 are you the representative for the over 80 club?
Keke has been quite famous for several years now and Sza has been famous for a few though not a big star
| by Anonymous | reply 24 | December 4, 2022 4:46 AM |
I love how the stunt doubles look nothing like Cecily and Keke

No, but I'm not scrolling on TikTok and don't listen to autotuned squealing "singers" or reality show whores. Pretend I can't use Google (even though I was using the Internet probably before you were born) and tell me who these women are. I'm [bold] so so[/bold] interested.

| by Anonymous | reply 61 | December 4, 2022 6:08 AM |
Iâm sorry if equal televised diversity that doesnât constantly pander gets you and your comfortable suburban cul-de-sac homeâs front-lawn BLM sign triggered, R60 aka Senator Warren. :).
| by Anonymous | reply 62 | December 4, 2022 6:13 AM |
Wow the proud racist trolling R62 never stops. Do you kiss your Jakal with that mouth?
| by Anonymous | reply 64 | December 4, 2022 6:16 AM |
I sometimes wonder about the extras we see in the SNL skits each week (like the ones who were passengers in the airplane skit tonight). Who do you have to know to get that gig? Do they use the same people every week? How much are they paid? And finally, do they get to go to the after-show party every week or are they just paid and sent home?
| by Anonymous | reply 65 | December 4, 2022 6:19 AM |
Keke getting rave reviews tonight
| by Anonymous | reply 66 | December 4, 2022 6:21 AM |
R65 Some of the extras are show writers.
| by Anonymous | reply 67 | December 4, 2022 6:23 AM |
So since Pete Davidson made it a thing, they're just gonna have a segment of Weekend Update devoted to cast members doing their stand-up acts?
| by Anonymous | reply 68 | December 4, 2022 6:26 AM |
If I had one, hopefully not on the pandering butt as Iâd imagine you would, or do, R63. Whatâs behind your electing yourself judge as to why other posters are racist if they donât understand why a show has to lately turn into hosting all skits, actors and performers who are portrayed by their showâs (oh, right, mostly young white writers) conveying always the most stereotypical lines, personalities and characters? In sorry if my seeing it that way spurns you to feel you must likewise elect yourself judge and brand someone about or call out racism. When you sit down to poop, is everything coming out of your mouth down there Buyerâs vanilla ice-cream and the rest of ours isnât? Please do try to take a vacation from the constantly officious social justice warrioring. If for instance that last skit with the 2 flight attendants was intended to shine as the best representation of admirable comedic characters, Iâd rather watch Chloe Fineman host and perform the entire show. Now please do take my Jakal and your BLM sign out of your previously constant ass. Smooches, Karen. :)

Thanks for having been interested enough to have continued engaging me. Also, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend very much.
| by Anonymous | reply 76 | December 4, 2022 6:42 AM |
Although Iâm not using one, R75âwhy, do you need to borrow one or stock up on your supply? Gurl, byee.
| by Anonymous | reply 77 | December 4, 2022 6:45 AM |
One of the best new episodes. Not great but more watchable than most.
| by Anonymous | reply 78 | December 4, 2022 6:47 AM |
I think this newer cast, as has occurred in seasons past when there were such larger turnovers, will continue to relax, gel and find their talented and character-specific niches, yes I agree.
| by Anonymous | reply 79 | December 4, 2022 6:50 AM |
She's the new Tiffany Hadish!
| by Anonymous | reply 80 | December 4, 2022 6:51 AM |
R80, she's more charming than Tiffany Haddish and prettier. I do like Tiffany but it's like she won't evolve past a late 20s ghetto Chica. And I don't think she's a bad actress. Tiffany Haddish is middle aged, she just looks young. I think Keke has shown she has serious acting chops in her latest films and thus more versatile. I think she find that signature Oscar worthy role soon.
| by Anonymous | reply 81 | December 4, 2022 7:12 AM |

R89 I'm not being sarcastic. You bitches dont know anyone born after 1988. And certainly only find fun in Liza Minelli parodies or some white fratbro in the line of John Belushi.
| by Anonymous | reply 90 | December 4, 2022 8:43 AM |
You're not being clever, either. You, bitch, don't know anyone born before 1999. And you certainly only find fun in being a neurotic little weasel.

R65 a few years ago a girl in my grade at high school was 1 of the background dancers during the skit featuring Aidy Bryant as Sarah Huckabee Sanders singing a parody of "Confidant" by Demi Lovato. We are in our 30s now. I don't know if she went to college but I remember in my last year or so of college some former high school classmates were trying to hype up her attempt at a music career She was in a group, they made a couple music videos but obviously never went anywhere. The peak of her career was being a backup dancer for Beyonce during at least 1 of her tours and also featured during her Superbowl performance. So doing backup dancing on SNL was obviously a step down but it's still something to put on her resume. I think a lot of background people, especially ones who aren't super young, are people like this girl who tried becoming stars on their own but just accepted it likely won't happen and keep taking any gig they can get in hopes of a lucky break at some point. I have no idea if she ever married or had kids as I never was acquainted with her, only knew of her through sex ed in freshman year lol
| by Anonymous | reply 96 | December 4, 2022 10:29 AM |
Similar to R96, I know a guy was a fairly regular SNL background actor for a few years. He had studied to be an actor but was never very good. He was, however, a nice guy and a hard worker, so I assume that made him reliable and the show kept using him.
| by Anonymous | reply 97 | December 4, 2022 1:52 PM |
Jesus! Was Lorne cleaning out a closet no one had been into for years when he found the "Dynasty" sketch? Is everyone here too young to remember Joan Collins and Diahann Carroll? I thought they were showing flashbacks. And that lame Arby's commercial that just went on and on and on.........
| by Anonymous | reply 98 | December 4, 2022 5:38 PM |
Longfellow is just so...white. Nothing special about him. Nothing stands out. They got rid of Athari for this?
| by Anonymous | reply 99 | December 4, 2022 6:45 PM |

R97 sometimes you need to present hole or pussy to get ahead.
| by Anonymous | reply 103 | December 4, 2022 7:32 PM |
General thoughts:
I donât get Bowen Yang. Amateurish, one note. Not a vibrant performer.
Heidi Gardner irks me for some reason. Seems like she desperately wants to be a Wiig or an Amy Poehler, but you can see the work with her on a way you couldnât with those performers (or Hooks or Radner, Curtin, etc.)
Longfellow totally trying too hard. Maybe smart on his part since they seem to easily dispose his type if they donât make a quick impression. But again, you can see the work with him.
Cecily is a true talent. She can make a bad sketch better. She also evolves. If you go back and look, she has some past recurring characters that she doesnât even do anymore. She keeps updating and proves her versatility.
Sarah Sherman is an incredibly confident performer. I can see us all growing sick of her, a la McKinnon, but for now I find her interesting.
Everyone else is mostly forgettable. The writing is about fives notchâs below where it should be for a show of this caliber and the ability to hire just about anyone they want.
| by Anonymous | reply 104 | December 4, 2022 7:56 PM |
The background actors are hired from talent agencies the same way movie extras are acquired.
Not the "major agencies" mind you, but entry level representation to give the nascent actor screen experience. NYC is full of these small agencies, and this is how donald stocked his campaign events.

SNL works best when they have a comedic actor host. Palmer was really good. Chance the Rapper has been terrific too.

[quote][R112] is typing from the welfare line while applying for WIC benefits and food stamps.
There are no longer welfare lines. What year are YOU posting from?!
These days, people applying for social services initially apply at an office. Some medical buildings even have such an office on their premises, there's no need going to a Medicaid office. Anything after that is done via paperwork and snail mail. A friend is a social worker, they tell me these things.
There are also no longer "food stamps", recipients now use a card.
btw, most "welfare fraud' is being done by nursing homes and the doctors themselves.
