The Disney-fication of dumbed-down “SNL” is sad. The whole show setup’s become so stale, it’s like they consciously wanna run it into the ground lame-duck style and plan for real to end in Season 50, which I wouldn’t want to happen. It’s like so many good cast members left last year leaping from the sinking ship to have time to pursue and establish themselves in new projects someday, knowing what’s going to happen. (Including booking musical guests these days who are one step up from “Community Auditions.”) Or maybe Lorne just wants it all to turn out this way. :(

The Britney memoir thing highlighted how limited this cast is. These sorts of everyone-does-an-impression sketches are usually my favorite, but most of these impersonations were very amateurish.

I can't stand Phoebe Bridgers. I've tried. I always root for a bitch with a guitar, but I find her music far too precious and boring. Her guitar smashing effort on SNL a couple of years ago sealed the deal—the music didn't warrant it on an energetic level whatsoever. She was giving Lilith Fair the entire performance, and at the end randomly tried to serve Courtney Love. It was laughable.

Mouseboy maybe realize that you just suck at acting so they give you commercials and maybe realize that you wouldn't have a showbiz career at all if it weren't for your family connections. Agreed, Chloe Troast showed an old school talent that we haven’t seen in a long time. Original, doesn’t seem like she’s doing an impression of an earlier cast member, can hold the camera. Doesn’t rely on being a frantic oddball, like so many of the modern SNL women. I even noticed it a few weeks back when she had a small girlfriend role. She has an ease about her. Excited to see more.
