When I had an office job sometimes I used to amuse myself by going to this Baby Name website where expectant mothers (and the public) would post about different names. The worst was NACKHOLE.

But it really was, I'm sorry to say, a guilty pleasue to let out long-dormant irritation at names like Mildred and Ethel. Everyone seemed to have their pet peeves.

I remember years and years ago - late seventies! - some Star Trek fanzine did a survey of all the guest starring women who’d hooked up with Kirk. They had a theory that women’s names ending in ‘a’ were perceived as sexier and a guarantee of a d-cup. The stats seemed to back them up - inordinate amount of human and alien sex kittens had names that ended in -a.

I also remember the next issue they got a lot of letter to the editor complaining about the inherent sexism and wtf were they publishing stupid articles like that for? Lol!
