The Australian sporting and arts communities have been rocked by the tragic death of former bobsledder and rugby player Simon Dunn at 35. NSW police said Dunn's body was found in his Sydney apartment on Saturday morning, with the circumstances not treated as suspicious.

Dunn's agents Ruby Rose Management confirmed the devastating news. A police spokesperson said: “About 10 am on Saturday, January 21, 2023, police were called to a unit on Crown Street, Surry Hills, after reports the body of a man had been found inside.

Almost everyone at some point in their lives has some or most of these symptoms R31. It’s vague enough to be applied to almost anyone using the right speculation and insinuation. That’s why it’s such a handy little tool for the cohort of people (lazy gossips) on here that will assign a diagnosis to almost anyone with the flimsiest of reasons. If he did indeed kill himself, that’s quite sad. But I don’t understand what people mean when they say it’s shocking. Shocking in what sense?

Depending on where you’re getting your statistics, somewhere between three-quarters of a million people and a million people commit suicide every year. It’s a tragic act (in most cases) but not unusual or surprising. For people between the ages of 15 and 44, suicide is generally one of the top three causes of death.

And many who commit suicide appeared to others to have great lives. Many were intelligent, many were beautiful, many had loving friends and family. Some? All three. And yet.

Sorry for the rant but I hate when people call suicides, shootings, and the like shocking. Horrible, of course. But nothing shocking about it at all. Suicide is as old as time.
