I was shocked to. Bakula looked better in this film than he did twenty years ago! Amazing what a wig, some weight loss, and creative lighting will do. I've also read special camera filters and face lip tape were used on all the principal actors.

I read they did do some makeup work on Damon's abs to make them look more enhanced and digitally reduced the size of his ass to make him look younger.

In The Martian they used a body double to show that after months on Mars he was thinner. They obviously couldn't use Matt's actual body. Earlier in his career he had lost so much weight for a role that it threatened his health.
