Roy Clark is dead to me.

Writer Robert Guerrero

The 85 year old star of Hee Haw died at his Tulsa home from pneumonia.

There were always rumors he was gay, but I've never heard anything specific.

He was married to the same woman for over 50 years and they had 4 kids.

Who retires to Tulsa?

Not A Gay, that's for sure!

by Anonymousreply 3November 15, 2018 4:55 PM

As a gayiing always wanted a Country Hoedown three way with him and Buck Owens.

I’ll take people I thought died a long time ago for $500, Alex

Not my taste in music, but he was a very talented man.

by Anonymousreply 12November 15, 2018 6:02 PM

I'm right there with ya, r10.

I didn't think he was dead, really, but I would have guessed he was in his 60s back in the late 70s/early 80s.

I remember he hosted The Muppet Show during that time. I just checked - there were 120 episodes produced between 1976-1981, and just under half of the hosts are now dead.

You were probably thinking of Conway Twitty.

Junior was the only talent on his show.

"Yesterday When I Was Young" sung by Roy Clark.

Original song was "Hier Encore" by Charles Azanavour.

I like Roy's version better!

Thanks, R18.

The Odd Couple was such a great show.

I’m another who thought he was already dead. I was also shocked to learn that June Lockhart is still alive. I could’ve sworn I read her obituary in the early ‘90s.

Jack Palance is the one who really freaks me out. Wikipedia says he died in 2006, but I would swear to reading that he died in 1995 and on another occasion a few years later. Could this be proof of parallel universes?

R21, I played Lucille Ballard in Meet Me In St. Louis!

As a kid I had a crush on Buck Owens from "Hee Haw." I was floored to read on Datalounge that he was bisexual.

Ain't that just like the younger generation. Bragging about their walk-on roles like they should have won Oscars or something.

Roy was on that Country show Hee Haw off and on for years.

Ironic that he and Aznavour died so close together. Both had the same song as their biggest hit.

Has former "Hee Haw Honey" Kathie Lee Gifford been reached for comment?

R18 - one of my favorite Odd Couple episodes. Can’t imagine a modern sitcom believing their audience would have the patience to sit through that. They’d cut the scene to 15 seconds.

Buck looks like he could throw a mean fuck in this pic.

R32, The Odd Couple had lots of cool guest stars: Jaye P Morgan, Edward Villella, David Steinberg, and, of course, Roy Clark.
