Rene-Charles Angelil
Ava Lawson
Celine Dion's son.
He has such a strange accent in English.
But equally strange is that even though I don't speak French, he sounds like he has a strange accent in French, as well.
Am I wrong?
Who taught this kid how to speak?
It almost seems like he learned broken English AND broken French, and he speaks neither language very well.
I didn't even know that was possible.

He's French Canadian and speaks English and French in that French Canadian way.

He has a normal Quebecois accent when he speaks French. Nothing abnormal here.

I think OP might be a bit stupid.

I think he might be a bit nervous here, he sounds slightly hesitant in French but that may just be, again, nerves as he begins the speech. His accent is pure French Canadian - in French and in English. Where did he grow up? For some reason i assumed it was in the US but you don't get that accent growing up in the US, even with Celine as a mother. Ir do you?
Justin Trudeau ended his speech at his father's funeral the exact same way, btw. I remember his voice breaking on the "Papa."

He just sounds Quebecois, OP.
Listen to fellow French-Canadians Xavier Dolan and Anne Dorval being interviewed by people speaking Parisian French:

Céline speaks like that too OP

OP obviously has never been to Québec nor met a Québécois, much less heard one speak in French or English.

No wonder the French from France look down on the Quebecois accent.
I don't even speak French, and it sounds horrible. Almost like the person speaking is a bit.... slow.

I was reading through the comments section of this Celine Dion interview, and someone mentioned how she starts off without her Quebec accent, but somehow after only a minute, it slowly creeps back in.
Is that true?
Also, who is the interviewer? He's DAMNED hot!

Actually it really is Parisians who speak in that rapid fire French most Americans are accustomed to hearing. Outside of Paris, and especially in rural areas dialects and speech patterns can be quite different.
Parisians generally tend to look down on "provincials" anyway, regardless if they are in France or across Atlantic.
For record for past several years there has been a huge influx of French (from France) immigrating to Quebec. Needless to say not everyone is amused.

At the end of his speech, it sounds like RC is saying "Shtem Peh."
But what he's really saying is "Je T'aime Pere."
That accent is just horrible.
And he also puts the accent on the wrong syllables when speaking English, which makes it sound weird.
Fah-THERR. Stan-DURRDs. With my younger Bruh-THURRS.
Ugh.

I have relatives in Canada, those in Quebec speak antique French, just like the way Americans speak "old-timey" English whilst sounding like they need to blow their nose. I think it's just natural when the language is split from it's roots and fails to evolve at the same pace, or at all. My mother left Spain at a young age and did not return for many years, when she did her family commented on how old fashioned and strange her accent was.
As to the kid, 15, at his dads funeral, broadcast live on TV, for crying out aloud I'd be sounding a bit weird too in his shoes.

He doesn't look like either of his parents.
Thankfully.
Oh, and those twins are creepy.

What the hell kind of weird black veil is Celine wearing? She’s such a poser.

R10 There are no dialects in France, but patois of provinces. Everybody speaks French in France with different accents. Exactly like in the USA. As for the contempt of the Parisians for the provincials, it is only heresy because 75% of the Parisians come from the provinces. Parisians don't look down on tourists at all. I can see that this is a comment from someone who has never set foot in France

R10 Also the NYT was never a good medias about France or the french people when they psend their time vomiting on the french. In France the Wokeist like the journalists from the NYT are deeply despised and the French don't even read this so-called newspaper full of clichés anymore. Even Macron don't like them

R9 No she keeps her Quebecois accent throughout the interview. The host is Laurent Delahousse. He is married to her a very hot French actress

R15,
"dialect - a provincial, rural, or socially distinct variety of a language that differs from the standard language, especially when considered as substandard."
That sounds like patois to me.

R18 In France they say patois. I think they know better than you. There are some regions with some exceptions where there are other languages and not dialects that are spoken, like Breton in Brittany (Bretagne, Celtic language),, or Occitan, or Corsican.

Anyways, René Charles has a perfectly fine and normal Québécois accent, you're just stupid OP

The French-speaking Swiss and Belgians also have a different accent from the French
