Raul (and his tbcjscpctscroc) thread V

From Tumbler:
anonymous asked:
"What part of the media does not report on Raul do you not understand?"
"It’s called the internet. I understand that it won’t be the headline in the Washington Post tomorrow, but there are other sources of media. IF he says something, it will be on the internet in an instant, and anyone who wants to know can find it.
But every Broadway/SVU/Hannibal/ect. blog/newsletter/ect. will cover it. Not to mention Twitter. It’s not about making a big media splash. It’s about people knowing. He does not want the broader public to know, and I respect that."
anonymous asked:
"Just because an actor has representation and people to "make statements for him" does not mean anybody will listen, or care. Press releases are made to the media and the media doesn't care in the least about Raul's private life. He is not news. He's way under their radar. So his agent or PR person could make a statement every day and it would never get printed. Which is why nothing will ever be said publicly about his private life."
You are the public. Yes, he does not have the reach Tom Hanks has, but are you telling me you wouldn’t care if he said something publicly? Judging from this website there are others like you. Some of those people are assholes. Some of them will say mean things. My point was and is: there is a reason he hasn’t said anything on Twitter or any other sort of other platform. I respect whatever that reason is.
anonymous asked:
"I respect Raul's privacy, but if he chooses to pose with Bill at functions (recent photos at the Andre Bishop function, the Custody after party, the Bailey House Gala, etc.) then he is no longer keeping this relationship as private as he was before. IMO."
But he hasn’t said “Hey guys, this is Bill, my boyfriend. Everyone say hello to Bill, my boyfriend.” My point, in that very bad dramatic interpretation, is that he hasn’t explicitly said anything. No tweet, no statement, no sky writing.
Maybe he doesn’t want to make a big deal about it, or doesn’t think it concerns anyone what he does, and who he does it with. I get not wanting to politicize your sexuality. Especially when there are people, in your own community, who call you all sorts of names, promote nasty stereotypes about you, and tell you that you aren’t really part of that community.
