I read an article today which announced Playgirl will be returning as a "print-centric" glossy in the Fall of 2020. What is print-centric? Are we to see a magazine at the bookstore magazine racks?
I wonder who they are recruiting to model for them. Will it be celebrities as the original Playgirl did in its first two years? Will the models be full-frontal?
Does anyone have any information about this?

Brazil's "G magazine" relied on celebrities to pose full-frontal. Most showed erections. Many came from Brazil's reality series like Big Brother. Others were well-known soccer players. The magazine went under about ten years ago. It was really HOT.

Sounds like wishful thinking, the whole magazine industry has almost completely collapsed in recent years, people don't buy them since everything is available in the internet for free or almost free. And I can imagine any A list American actors suddenly doing full frontal. Not enough money if they haven't done it already.

If the new Playgirl had male celebrities posing full-frontal, like Milan Christopher (from Love and Hip-Hop) did for Paper Magazine, along with some sophisticated security to prevent the pictures from being downloaded, I think it could work.

This will probably just be a one off thing. I see it being even less successful than their previous attempts keeping it afloat. Print is an almost dead format.
However, with that said. The Playgirl name and past content still does have some value. If they kept all pictures taken from the photo shoots, there probably would be a good amount of interest in seeing these photos in superior quality, along with outtakes that were never published. Who knows if they had the foresight to save everything though.
