This man was part of the televangelist movement that swept rural and suburban America by the storm in the 1960s and 1970s and helped create the modern day Republican Party. He created an entire cable network of right-wing Evangelical Christian propaganda to brainwash poorly educated people. He was a grifter who disguised his love of free market capitalism, white supremacy and American ultranationalism with "Christian love and peace." Horrible person. Will not be missed. Jesus would despise him.

We used to have threads on him a lot. My favorite one (and my favorite memory of him) is a thread on something he said on The 700 Club about how 'gay sex, when you think about it, is quite disgusting.'

I wonder if Freeform can finally stop airing The 700 Club. Disney inherited that contractual obligation when they bought Fox Family which was previously CBN Family. For years ABC Family/Freeform would air pretty funny disclaimers that were passive aggressive stabs against at the program. They never advertise it. It's funny how the network would air shows with premarital teen sex, gay couples, drinking and drug abuse yet 700 Club is part of their programming.
