Oz
Daniel Martin
What an asshole with no link. The TV show or the fictional land, OP?

It’s it. One of my favorite threads on it from 2-3 years ago.

Because Dorothy had electroshock therapy.

All those snakes, stupid marsupials and Australian criminals.

I asked the Wizard and Glinda to hide it magically from the outside world in "The Emerald City of Oz."

It’s fallen into an obscure hole.

OP is obviously a friend of Dorothy.

The show that clued my dad in that I was gay. He walked in on me watching a scene of Meloni making out with some dude and asked, 'why the hell are you watching this show full of naked men prisoners?' 😂

Not forgotten. Hardly a week goes by without someone mentioning Meloni’s ass.

The sexually voracious Officer Claire Howell was the greatest!

[reply 11] I should have figured out my roommate was gay when he said one day "The guys I work with LOVE Oz because of the hot guys I love it because of the storylines."

Because you visit Oz to learn important life lessons and then return to reality a much stronger person. No need to dwell on the experience after.

Because it kept peddling resveratrol?

I remember telling friends I couldn't watch 'The Sopranos' because it was too violent, but then I'd watch 'Oz' and rave about it. (This was before I was out and no one thought to question my viewing habits.) It's one of the first series I rewatched at this time last year when quarantine started. It holds up for the most part. Rita Moreno definitely deserved an Emmy, but never even got nominated. And DL (un)favorite Betty Buckley playing the O'Reilley mum towards the end was a treat.

It isn't forgotten, at least on DL.

Because Dorothy had no business wearing those shoes with that dress.

Because New Zealand has stolen all it's thunder after LOTR

The one thing I didn't like or got tired of was the narrator. Every damn show he had to introduce the audience to the players. Like we didn't know. I found him tiresome.

R27, he was even more tiresome on Lost. WALT!!!!! I NEED TO FIND MY SON!!!! ugh.
| by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 5, 2021 5:31 PM |
Because it's not in mainstream syndication. You still have to be an HBO customer to watch it.

It goes downhill massively in later seasons. The episode with the prisoners given a treatment that ages them for the length of their sentence was insanely bad.

I think people appreciated him more once he was off the show and they had the cast members doing the narrations. Harold Perrineau performed those monologues splendidly.
