I loved Galbi fro 1988. I saw the video for the first time on TBS Night Tracks and fell in love with the base line.

The story of how she came to die of AIDS has never quite added up. She evidently was a virgin until she married at the age of 39 (she was a Yemenite, from a very strict culture). She died of AIDS less than three years after she got married, apparently infected by her husband. It's unclear though whether he was actually HIV-positive, and he claimed she got it through a blood transfusion after a miscarriage.

I like Galbi and Op's song only.

I only know the Razormaid remix of "Dalle Dalle" from 1990.

Galbi reminds me of the I-Beam in SF. Intense vocals.

I'm listening to her now. I only discovered "Im nin alu" a little while ago. Her voice is so beautiful, it has a quality to it that I don't think you could ever get except to be born with it. It is so sad she died so early.

Here she is singing on television in 1978.

I have/had her CD - in particular 'Wish Me Luck' and 'I Want To Fly' with the former tune being more dance oriented. I still have the songs (ripped from CD) but over the many years my music tastes have changed although I do like the two cuts mentioned. Didn't know she passed from Aids.

Back in ancient time, loving was a crime.

Her husband was on the DL - he was also alcoholic and drug addict. He died of a drug overdose, but it's most likely he got it from whoring around.
