OFFICIAL 2022 Emmys Thread

Writer Andrew Hansen

The show is on tonight girls! Yes, it’s a far cry from the Oscars but we all need a little glamour in our lives these days.

And Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett are likely winners for The White Lotus and you just know her acceptance speech will be one for the ages.

by Anonymousreply 602September 13, 2022 6:28 PM

I was reading Coolidge‘s wiki page and I was wondering why nobody mentioned her turn as Lexi Featherston. Then I remembered why.

by Anonymousreply 1September 12, 2022 1:17 PM

I know Keaton has it locked, but I’m bummed that Oscar Isaac isn’t going to win for Scenes From a Marriage. He was excellent in it. And the Jessica Chastain snub still stings.

by Anonymousreply 2September 12, 2022 1:24 PM

I'm rooting for Abbott Elementary.

by Anonymousreply 3September 12, 2022 1:33 PM

R1, were you thrilled to find out you were wrong, and there are two amazonian queens to love? I wish Kristin Johnson would get more work.

by Anonymousreply 5September 12, 2022 1:55 PM

They are on a Monday? is that the usual?

by Anonymousreply 6September 12, 2022 1:56 PM

I am excited to see who wins for Hacks.

by Anonymousreply 7September 12, 2022 1:56 PM

NBC has Sunday Night Football, r6. They paid a lot of money for that, so they're not gonna preempt it when they aren't winning any awards, except maybe (I hope) for Seth Meyers.

by Anonymousreply 8September 12, 2022 2:21 PM

Ugh, I hope Ted Lasso gets shut out for it’s terrible second season but of course that won’t happen

Rooting for The Dropout and Abbott Elementary

Too bad that more people aren’t watching The Great

by Anonymousreply 9September 12, 2022 2:27 PM

I only watched Dopesick thanks to so many comments about how great it was on DL - so thank you DL!

by Anonymousreply 10September 12, 2022 2:28 PM

Since just about every nominee is on pay streaming services, no one really cares about who wins, since they haven't seen the shows.

by Anonymousreply 11September 12, 2022 2:28 PM

Is any Brit going to win and do a tribute to the Queen?

by Anonymousreply 12September 12, 2022 2:28 PM

Maybe people in nursing homes, R11, but most people under 70 watch apps, whether it’s with or without a regular cable subscription.

YouTubers rack up more views than broadcast shows. Most broadcast shows are on their parent company’s streaming service.

by Anonymousreply 13September 12, 2022 2:42 PM

R9 Lasso bombed BTL so I would be surprised if they won too much tonight.

by Anonymousreply 14September 12, 2022 2:43 PM

The Emmys get stuck on one show for a long time, R14. It felt like the Frasier, 30 Rock, and Modern Family streaks went on far too long.

by Anonymousreply 15September 12, 2022 2:50 PM

Murray Bartlett for Best Ass Eating?

by Anonymousreply 16September 12, 2022 2:53 PM

And Best Pooping in a Suitcase, r16.

by Anonymousreply 17September 12, 2022 3:00 PM

R15 yes, but they’ve worked to change the voting system. I believe it’s more voters who vote for the winners now, as opposed to a small group of a blue ribbon panel. Gone are the days when Julia Louis Dreyfuss wins like seven or eight years in a row. That being said, it’s impossible to watch everything. So they basically watch clips of the shows. Flawed system but it is what it is. It’ll probably evolve to buzzworth y, social media hyped shows winning more. One true test will be if Squid Game can beat Succession for best drama series.

by Anonymousreply 18September 12, 2022 3:02 PM

R2: After her awful, undeserved Oscar win, I was so happy to see her snubbed here.

by Anonymousreply 19September 12, 2022 3:02 PM

Unpopular opinion but Hacks is overrated.

by Anonymousreply 20September 12, 2022 3:03 PM

R20 the second season was great. I like Hannah, but the rest of the supporting cast is pretty weak. (The black mother and her friend are horrible.) Id love to see Jean doing every minute of it, but that ain’t gonna happen.

by Anonymousreply 21September 12, 2022 3:09 PM

R21: I don't get Hannah Einbinder at all. She did nothing prior to Hacks and she's not funny, talented, or hot.

by Anonymousreply 22September 12, 2022 3:18 PM

[quote]Is any Brit going to win and do a tribute to the Queen?

I hope half-Brit Andrew Garfield wins for Under the Banner of Heaven. I couldn't care less if he mentions the queen.

by Anonymousreply 23September 12, 2022 3:39 PM

Unfortunately Zendaya will win emmy #2.

by Anonymousreply 24September 12, 2022 3:41 PM

I don’t watch Euphoria but keep hearing how amazing Zendaya is in it.

by Anonymousreply 25September 12, 2022 5:43 PM

Zendaya is great in Euphoria but very bleak. Even more depressing than Dopesick.

by Anonymousreply 26September 12, 2022 5:45 PM

I predict Abbott Elementary will win Best Comedy, Steve Martin will win Best Actor, Jean Smart will win Best Actress, Henry Winkler will win Best Supporting Actor, Janelle James will win Best Supporting Actress.

For drama, I think Succession will win Best Drama, Brian Cox will win Best Actor, Zendaya will win Best Actress, Kieran Culkin will win Best Supporting Actor and Rhea Seehorn will win Best Supporting Actress.

If Squid Game wins anything, I'll be happy too.

by Anonymousreply 27September 12, 2022 5:51 PM

Where will Anne Heche place in the In Memoriam segment?

by Anonymousreply 28September 12, 2022 9:20 PM

I just know that cunt Betty will be last in the In Memoriam segment. Overrated cunt.

by Anonymousreply 29September 12, 2022 11:37 PM

"The Beatles: Get Back" has won all 5 Emmys it was nominated for.

Laura Linney looks terrible in her coffee filter dress

by Anonymousreply 31September 12, 2022 11:48 PM

Who would have guessed Henry Winkler would have a late career comeback?

by Anonymousreply 32September 12, 2022 11:59 PM

Is this the official thread?

by Anonymousreply 33September 13, 2022 12:01 AM

Why is Laverne interviewing? Oh my.

by Anonymousreply 34September 13, 2022 12:03 AM

Loni Love is quite fun.

Oh, Laverne is a hot mess. Quinta Brunson made really thoughtful comments about the state of education and Laverne replied, “That’s amazing!”

by Anonymousreply 35September 13, 2022 12:21 AM

I love Nicole Byer from her podcasts. But, that getup is atrocious.

by Anonymousreply 36September 13, 2022 12:26 AM

Melanie Lynskey looks like she has gained weight and she sounds better when doing an American accent.

by Anonymousreply 37September 13, 2022 12:29 AM

Ugh, the Syndey Sweeney cunt is on the red carpet.

by Anonymousreply 38September 13, 2022 12:30 AM

I actually loved Nicole Byer’s outfit.

by Anonymousreply 39September 13, 2022 12:32 AM

Is Christian Siriano Project Runway’s Kelly Clarkson?

by Anonymousreply 40September 13, 2022 12:35 AM

I was recently listening to an episode of Two Old Queens podcast and Nicole Byer their pick to play Oda Mae in a all gay Ghost remake.

by Anonymousreply 41September 13, 2022 12:35 AM

Adam Scott's hair looks like shit.

by Anonymousreply 42September 13, 2022 12:36 AM

This dress is not doing Sydney any favors.

by Anonymousreply 43September 13, 2022 12:37 AM

Ugh, that overrated cunt Arianna DeBose is there.

by Anonymousreply 44September 13, 2022 12:37 AM

This would have been a beautiful dress had it been full length.

by Anonymousreply 49September 13, 2022 12:45 AM

I can't believe "The Good Fight" has been ignored every one of it's seasons for the past five years. Does Paramount+ not even send their show in for consideration ?

by Anonymousreply 50September 13, 2022 12:47 AM

That cunt Sarah Paulson has an awful haircut. Did that old hag Holland cut it?

by Anonymousreply 51September 13, 2022 12:49 AM

Ben Stiller looks hot with the silver hair

by Anonymousreply 54September 13, 2022 12:51 AM

I’m a fan and I think Zendaya looks lovely.

by Anonymousreply 55September 13, 2022 12:51 AM

I like Kaitlyn Dever's dress.

by Anonymousreply 56September 13, 2022 12:51 AM

Is that the MAGA chick at R43?

by Anonymousreply 57September 13, 2022 12:52 AM

Why bother? Whoever won last year will win again. Emmy's are boring as shit.

by Anonymousreply 58September 13, 2022 12:52 AM

That twitter pic of Andrew Garfield...he's packing

by Anonymousreply 60September 13, 2022 12:55 AM

These 3 hanging out last night

by Anonymousreply 61September 13, 2022 12:55 AM

Linney looks like a standing lamp

by Anonymousreply 63September 13, 2022 12:56 AM

Zendaya looks like something out of Valley of the Dolls - it's a great look.

by Anonymousreply 64September 13, 2022 12:56 AM

I like Sydney’s look to the dinner last night more than what she wore to the actual event

Although probably too sexy for the Emmys

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 65September 13, 2022 12:56 AM

Is Michael Keaton there? Because I have had a crush on him for years and IMO he will always be hot.

by Anonymousreply 66September 13, 2022 12:56 AM

I don't watch many tv shows but Succession is far above the others. All nominations it has should be won.

by Anonymousreply 69September 13, 2022 1:00 AM

Where's Jennifer Coolidge?

by Anonymousreply 70September 13, 2022 1:01 AM

I’m surprised, I’m able to stream it through HULU.

by Anonymousreply 71September 13, 2022 1:02 AM

I’m streaming through Peacock.

Wasn’t it on CBS last year?

by Anonymousreply 73September 13, 2022 1:03 AM

Why isn’t Maureen there?

by Anonymousreply 74September 13, 2022 1:05 AM

What is the point of this opening?

by Anonymousreply 75September 13, 2022 1:05 AM

The dancing is unexpected. Terrible, and fun?

by Anonymousreply 76September 13, 2022 1:05 AM

R66 He should be, he’s been a lock to win his category since the winter.

by Anonymousreply 77September 13, 2022 1:06 AM

[quote]and Rhea Seehorn will win Best Supporting Actress.

Ugh.

Please not one-note Seehorn.

by Anonymousreply 78September 13, 2022 1:06 AM

This was probably Kenan's idea. He's an overrated hack. I wonder if he squandered all his child actor money and that's why he's stuck doing SNL.

by Anonymousreply 79September 13, 2022 1:06 AM

This opening sucks. And I say that as a Kenan fan.

I’m glad Get Back won, that was the best thing I saw last year, film or tv.

by Anonymousreply 80September 13, 2022 1:06 AM

I like it, it's fun and something different. And everyone can related to TV theme songs.

by Anonymousreply 81September 13, 2022 1:06 AM

And one and two and Fosse Fosse ball change and end scene.

by Anonymousreply 82September 13, 2022 1:07 AM

Dear God, this is so poorly conceived.

by Anonymousreply 83September 13, 2022 1:07 AM

Oprah, this is not your silhouette my Queen

by Anonymousreply 84September 13, 2022 1:07 AM

This show is going to suck, isn’t it?

by Anonymousreply 85September 13, 2022 1:07 AM

Maureen is in the UK for the Queens’s funeral proceedings.

by Anonymousreply 88September 13, 2022 1:07 AM

Julia Garner always looks adorable.

by Anonymousreply 89September 13, 2022 1:08 AM

Oprah looks "thin". For her.

by Anonymousreply 90September 13, 2022 1:08 AM

Martin Short gazing at Oprah from the audience, enduring that inspirational speech, made me laugh out loud.

by Anonymousreply 92September 13, 2022 1:09 AM

Why does Oprah always sound so pompous?

by Anonymousreply 93September 13, 2022 1:09 AM

Steve Martin and Martin Short front row!

by Anonymousreply 94September 13, 2022 1:09 AM

Why make us listen to Coldplay?

by Anonymousreply 96September 13, 2022 1:10 AM

Does no one think Odenkirk will get the sympathy vote for almost dying during production this season?

by Anonymousreply 97September 13, 2022 1:10 AM

Anthony Edwards is at Michael’s table with his wife Mare.

by Anonymousreply 99September 13, 2022 1:11 AM

Congratulations. Now wrap it up, Keaton.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

by Anonymousreply 100September 13, 2022 1:11 AM

Was that Anthony Edwards? He looks great

by Anonymousreply 101September 13, 2022 1:11 AM

Odenkirk lucked out to survive a heart attack. UNM Hospital in Albuquerque is a fucking shithole hospital and most of their employees are dumb as fuck.

by Anonymousreply 102September 13, 2022 1:11 AM

Andrew Garfield never wins anything but always gets nominated

by Anonymousreply 104September 13, 2022 1:12 AM

Did Anthony Edwards convert to Judaism after marrying Mare?

by Anonymousreply 105September 13, 2022 1:12 AM

Keaton is already talking too much

by Anonymousreply 107September 13, 2022 1:12 AM

He made a show about millions of people getting hooked on painkillers and his speech is totally self-involved, yuck.

by Anonymousreply 108September 13, 2022 1:13 AM

R105 Do we know this because he had a late in life circumcision?

by Anonymousreply 109September 13, 2022 1:13 AM

So glad bitch Lady GAGA didn’t win for her Tony concert. Bitch was in it for the Emmy not Tony.

by Anonymousreply 110September 13, 2022 1:13 AM

I wish everyone nominated from Dopesick and White Lotus could win this category, but Murray deserves it for being the hottest.

by Anonymousreply 112September 13, 2022 1:14 AM

It sounded like Jean said "Mary Harlett".

by Anonymousreply 116September 13, 2022 1:16 AM

White Lotus was so weird, but so riveting.

by Anonymousreply 117September 13, 2022 1:16 AM

I love Connie Britton’s look

by Anonymousreply 118September 13, 2022 1:16 AM

Murray was a Guiding Light alum.

by Anonymousreply 120September 13, 2022 1:16 AM

Peter S doesn’t look thrilled to lose.

by Anonymousreply 121September 13, 2022 1:18 AM

[quote]White Lotus was so weird, but so riveting.

Like most of Mike White’s stuff.

by Anonymousreply 122September 13, 2022 1:18 AM

“ What’s a Hynbinder?”

Laraine Newman’s crotch fruit.

by Anonymousreply 123September 13, 2022 1:18 AM

What was that non-binary DJ all about? They won’t be interrupting throughout will they?

by Anonymousreply 124September 13, 2022 1:18 AM

I liked that Maggie G was even more grudging with her clapping than Peter S, good spouse.

by Anonymousreply 125September 13, 2022 1:19 AM

[quote]Murray was a Guiding Light alum.

That’s where I first saw him. He was so good looking but I never would have thought he’d one day win an Emmy.

by Anonymousreply 126September 13, 2022 1:19 AM

We do not need a George Clooney/Julia Roberts geriatric RomCom!

by Anonymousreply 127September 13, 2022 1:19 AM

I wish Sydney wore something like this. She’s the newest young sex symbol in Hollywood. She should have went with this. It’s hot but still classy.

by Anonymousreply 128September 13, 2022 1:20 AM

R104 Garfield has won a Tony, plus a golden globe.

by Anonymousreply 129September 13, 2022 1:20 AM

Murray acted with Tom Pelphrey, another GL alum and Emmy nominee tonight.

by Anonymousreply 130September 13, 2022 1:21 AM

I love this table set up. I hope they keep this going forward. I do wonder how they decide who sits where.

by Anonymousreply 131September 13, 2022 1:21 AM

I loved Murray in "Looking" on HBO, but you all took that away from me with your hate.

by Anonymousreply 132September 13, 2022 1:21 AM

Jean Smart looked fantastic. Great for any age, but especially 70.

I hated White Lotus. HATED IT.

by Anonymousreply 133September 13, 2022 1:22 AM

Contra R48, I think Jean Smart looks great.

by Anonymousreply 134September 13, 2022 1:22 AM

R131 I liked last years table setup. It was small and worked better.

by Anonymousreply 135September 13, 2022 1:22 AM

The DL White Lotus thread was one of my all time favorites.

by Anonymousreply 136September 13, 2022 1:23 AM

He’s not a good host…

by Anonymousreply 137September 13, 2022 1:24 AM

Sydney Sweeney is a wall-eyed whore.

by Anonymousreply 138September 13, 2022 1:24 AM

I like Kenan but bro, wrap it up.

by Anonymousreply 142September 13, 2022 1:26 AM

Whoever is producing this is really fucking up with the camera timing.

by Anonymousreply 143September 13, 2022 1:28 AM

So there’s the non-binary in a tux AND a DJ? Couldn’t they combine that into one job and make the salary a donation for Philadelphia school supplies too?

by Anonymousreply 144September 13, 2022 1:28 AM

I’m so happy for Tom.

(terrible choices by this DJ)

by Anonymousreply 146September 13, 2022 1:29 AM

The start of a Succession tsunami?

by Anonymousreply 147September 13, 2022 1:30 AM

I think there needs to be a new rule that a show can only nominate one actor per category.

by Anonymousreply 149September 13, 2022 1:30 AM

R149 that’s a terrible rule

Sometimes a show has many great performances. So only one can get nominated?

by Anonymousreply 150September 13, 2022 1:31 AM

So, an American, an Australian and a Scots, they’re spreading around the world awards.

by Anonymousreply 151September 13, 2022 1:31 AM

I hope so R147, and fuck them for starting up the music when Matthew Macfadyen was speaking.

by Anonymousreply 153September 13, 2022 1:32 AM

Julia Garner is fabulous, but should never have beaten like 3 other people in this category.

by Anonymousreply 154September 13, 2022 1:32 AM

I’m sorry but Julia Garner overacts.

by Anonymousreply 156September 13, 2022 1:33 AM

[quote]I think there needs to be a new rule that a show can only nominate one actor per category.

So you don’t want performance quality to be the deciding factor?

by Anonymousreply 157September 13, 2022 1:33 AM

The DJ makes me want to puke.

by Anonymousreply 159September 13, 2022 1:33 AM

Wow. Shock! Love Julia Garner but Rhea……

by Anonymousreply 160September 13, 2022 1:33 AM

Julia won!!!! But what’s with that dress??!

by Anonymousreply 161September 13, 2022 1:34 AM

Julie Garner won 3x now. She didn’t deserve this one. It should have been Sydney Sweeney

by Anonymousreply 162September 13, 2022 1:34 AM

J-Smith Cameron was also robbed. Even Sydney Sweeney was robbed.

by Anonymousreply 163September 13, 2022 1:34 AM

R157 I want the show to choose putting forth their strongest actor.

by Anonymousreply 164September 13, 2022 1:34 AM

Julie looking a little more like young Madonna getting ready for that role.

by Anonymousreply 165September 13, 2022 1:34 AM

Almost everyone predicted Julia would win btw. Rhea was always listed as an upset, followed by either Sydney Sweeney or Christina Ricci

by Anonymousreply 166September 13, 2022 1:35 AM

So I guess it’s gonna be a YAWL party all night with that meatball announcer, huh?

by Anonymousreply 167September 13, 2022 1:35 AM

Sweeney is overrated mainly because of her looks and big girls.

by Anonymousreply 168September 13, 2022 1:35 AM

Julia should have won for the character she played in The Americans.

by Anonymousreply 169September 13, 2022 1:35 AM

Julia also didn’t deserve the win for Ozark season 3

by Anonymousreply 171September 13, 2022 1:36 AM

Sweeney wasn’t overrated in season 2. She’s the breakout of season 2 with good reasoning.

by Anonymousreply 172September 13, 2022 1:36 AM

Will Olivia Newton-John be in the memorial segment?

by Anonymousreply 173September 13, 2022 1:36 AM

What the hell is up with the presenters' oily makeup?

by Anonymousreply 174September 13, 2022 1:36 AM

Sarah Snook was phenomenal in the last season and she deserved this award.

by Anonymousreply 175September 13, 2022 1:37 AM

R171 that’s so true. They sure love her though.

by Anonymousreply 176September 13, 2022 1:37 AM

[quote]I want the show to choose putting forth their strongest actor.

Seems like you want to make sure more shows get participation trophies (in the form of nominations). Are you a Millennial?

by Anonymousreply 177September 13, 2022 1:37 AM

R153, I loved that they cut him off. I don’t watch Succession so he was just a dull guy with nothing to say wasting everyone’s time. I also like that they’re putting the Jewish phone book at the bottom of the screen, although Julia Garner clearly didn’t get the point and just wasted her time reading everything allowed.

Is it a strict 30 seconds? I love that now.

by Anonymousreply 178September 13, 2022 1:37 AM

Julia’s Ruth was fire this season. She deserved it. She has a lot of range.

by Anonymousreply 179September 13, 2022 1:37 AM

Who is that DJ in the tuxedo who wants a selfy with Lizzo?

by Anonymousreply 180September 13, 2022 1:37 AM

I want to kick the announcer DJ dude in his nuts.

by Anonymousreply 181September 13, 2022 1:39 AM

I cannot stand Succession. I couldn't get through more than a few episodes. I'm not interested in rich people drama. Hope this series doesn't win any additional Emmys.

by Anonymousreply 182September 13, 2022 1:39 AM

The dude as in Zedd? He’s a famous DJ

by Anonymousreply 184September 13, 2022 1:40 AM

They’re trying so hard to keep network tv in the conversion in these montages.

by Anonymousreply 185September 13, 2022 1:40 AM

I like Succession, but I find it overrated as fuck.

by Anonymousreply 186September 13, 2022 1:40 AM

Amy P looks the best she’s been in years.

by Anonymousreply 187September 13, 2022 1:40 AM

Amy is trying too hard with that dress.

by Anonymousreply 188September 13, 2022 1:41 AM

R185 they should be. Tons of good shows that get overlooked

by Anonymousreply 189September 13, 2022 1:41 AM

Damn Seth Meyers fell asleep in the tanning bed.

by Anonymousreply 191September 13, 2022 1:42 AM

I love this overdramatic woman already

by Anonymousreply 192September 13, 2022 1:42 AM

Ohh, an original Dreamgirl won!

by Anonymousreply 193September 13, 2022 1:43 AM

Strong category but I have no problem with Sheryl Lee Ralph winning.

by Anonymousreply 194September 13, 2022 1:43 AM

So happy for Sheryl Lee Ralph. A tremendous talent who gets mostly overlooked.

R192 overdramatic woman? Sweetie she’s a legend

by Anonymousreply 195September 13, 2022 1:43 AM

Is this the kindergarten teacher?

by Anonymousreply 196September 13, 2022 1:43 AM

I hope this is the last time that overrated hack cunt Kate McKinnon gets nominated for an Emmy. Kate and Kenan Thompson are overrated. It's a shame that Cecily Strong is constantly overlooked.

by Anonymousreply 197September 13, 2022 1:44 AM

Love her. That voice. Amazing.

by Anonymousreply 198September 13, 2022 1:44 AM

What’s that woman singing during her acceptance speech? What a weird way to thank an achievement.

Go home please.

by Anonymousreply 200September 13, 2022 1:44 AM

Sheryl Lee Ralph is absolutely perfect on Abbott Elementary.

by Anonymousreply 203September 13, 2022 1:45 AM

[quote] Sweetie she’s a legend

I could feel it coming as she approached the stage but now I KNOW.

by Anonymousreply 204September 13, 2022 1:45 AM

She's the original Deana in Dreamgirls. She was great in that.

by Anonymousreply 205September 13, 2022 1:45 AM

Why does that announcer keep interjecting themselves into their job?

Nobody cares that she wants to get selfie with Lizzo.

by Anonymousreply 206September 13, 2022 1:45 AM

Rooting for Quinta tonight -- she's come a long way from Buzzfeed Youtube.

by Anonymousreply 207September 13, 2022 1:45 AM

Did they now cut her off when she went over her time because she's black? Can't cut off a black bitch. #Entitlement.

by Anonymousreply 208September 13, 2022 1:46 AM

How many tulle trees had to die for that dress?

by Anonymousreply 209September 13, 2022 1:46 AM

Her gown is stunning R207.

Succession is a hilarious and wicked satire. It takes awhile to get into it but it’s genius.

by Anonymousreply 211September 13, 2022 1:47 AM

These gluttons for punishment never learn their lesson: award shows that go black go to shit.

by Anonymousreply 212September 13, 2022 1:47 AM

Lizzo looks great with clothes on.

by Anonymousreply 213September 13, 2022 1:48 AM

Goddammit I wanted to get home on time to watch this from the beginning. I'll read the thread during the useless acceptance speeches.

by Anonymousreply 214September 13, 2022 1:48 AM

will Barry young fellow be in the in memoriam segment?

by Anonymousreply 215September 13, 2022 1:48 AM

R183: For that are you kidding me!?

by Anonymousreply 217September 13, 2022 1:48 AM

Brett looks hot in that tux.

by Anonymousreply 219September 13, 2022 1:48 AM

Succession isn't hilarious in the least. It is a repetitive visit with completely repulsive people. Every character is a horrible person.

by Anonymousreply 221September 13, 2022 1:49 AM

I’m watching on HULU, why are they bleeping things?

by Anonymousreply 222September 13, 2022 1:49 AM

R212 you think giving one award to a black person is that terrible? You need to stop.

by Anonymousreply 223September 13, 2022 1:50 AM

That singer was awfully full of herself

by Anonymousreply 224September 13, 2022 1:50 AM

Succession is the best show currently on TV and Jeremy Strong is phenomenal in the show.

by Anonymousreply 225September 13, 2022 1:50 AM

R222 It's getting bleeped on NBC too.

by Anonymousreply 226September 13, 2022 1:50 AM

R212 wishes he could join the Klan in1868.

by Anonymousreply 228September 13, 2022 1:51 AM

[quote][R153], I loved that they cut him off. I don’t watch Succession so he was just a dull guy with nothing to say wasting everyone’s time. I also like that they’re putting the Jewish phone book at the bottom of the screen, although Julia Garner clearly didn’t get the point and just wasted her time reading everything allowed.

He's awesome in Succession. And he's the most humble/least blustery out of all the cast members, so they should've let him talk a little bit. He and Julia Garner starred together in the indie film "The Assistant", and both were excellent (Macfadyen frighteningly so).

by Anonymousreply 229September 13, 2022 1:51 AM

God, can the Andrew Garfield Troll aka R60 just give it a rest for one fucking night?

by Anonymousreply 230September 13, 2022 1:51 AM

Why are they rubbing that black DJ cunt in our faces? She's annoying and looks like a trans boy.

by Anonymousreply 231September 13, 2022 1:51 AM

Tony Romo has a shit Koreatown toupee. But I'd still fuck him.

by Anonymousreply 232September 13, 2022 1:52 AM

R221 Exactly why I couldn't even get through the pilot. A show about absolutely irredeemable monsters needs A LOT more humor than it has.

by Anonymousreply 233September 13, 2022 1:52 AM

[quote] That singer was awfully full of herself

Klan Granny detected

by Anonymousreply 234September 13, 2022 1:52 AM

I fearlessly predict that all the winners will be previous winners unless there is a black nominee in the category in which case the black nominee will win of course.

by Anonymousreply 235September 13, 2022 1:53 AM

Sheryl Lee Ralph is a Broadway legend.

by Anonymousreply 236September 13, 2022 1:53 AM

[quote]R1, were you thrilled to find out you were wrong, and there are two amazonian queens to love?

No, R5. Not in the least.

by Anonymousreply 237September 13, 2022 1:53 AM

R235 did you just start watching? Your statement doesn’t make sense, by the way.

by Anonymousreply 238September 13, 2022 1:53 AM

[quote]Why are they rubbing that black DJ cunt in our faces? She's annoying and looks like a trans boy.

Do you have eyes? The woman dressed like a boy is the ANNOUNCER not the DJ. Grammy-winner Zedd is the DJ.

by Anonymousreply 239September 13, 2022 1:54 AM

Brett is tiny but hot AF

Succession takes about 5-6 episodes to grow on you. I almost gave up several times, was talked out of it by friends and am glad I stuck with it.

But yes, it takes a while.

by Anonymousreply 240September 13, 2022 1:54 AM

[quote]Sheryl Lee Ralph is a Broadway legend.

Let us not forget her performance in DL fave IT'S A LIVING.

by Anonymousreply 242September 13, 2022 1:55 AM

Lovely dress but gurl needs a sandwich.

by Anonymousreply 243September 13, 2022 1:55 AM

Grammy-winner Zedd has terrible taste in music.

by Anonymousreply 244September 13, 2022 1:56 AM

Huh. An Asian lead in the Quantum Leap reboot? Interesting. The Korean actors are so stylish.

by Anonymousreply 245September 13, 2022 1:56 AM

Is that the Ben Affleck drinking buddy in hot pink?

by Anonymousreply 246September 13, 2022 1:56 AM

Ugh we have to see that cunt Kate McKinnon on the stage.

by Anonymousreply 247September 13, 2022 1:56 AM

Fuck Lorne Michaels got old

by Anonymousreply 248September 13, 2022 1:56 AM

How comes the people who already left the show are on stage?

by Anonymousreply 249September 13, 2022 1:57 AM

SNL over The Black Lady Sketch Show? TBLSS is hilarious!

When was the last time SNL was worth of an Emmy?

by Anonymousreply 250September 13, 2022 1:57 AM

How does SNL keep winning? The show has been lame overall for decades.

by Anonymousreply 251September 13, 2022 1:57 AM

Black Lady Sketch Show wuz robbed.

by Anonymousreply 252September 13, 2022 1:57 AM

I miss the announcer who intones things like “This is Saturday Night Live’s 276th nomination…”

by Anonymousreply 253September 13, 2022 1:58 AM

Omg Lorne Michaels has turned into a Keebler elf

by Anonymousreply 254September 13, 2022 1:58 AM

The women on Black Lady Sketch Show are much talented than the SNL cast. I truly hope Kate McKinnon's career goes to the crapper post SNL. People like Lauren Lapkus and Mary Holland are much more talented than McKinnon.

by Anonymousreply 255September 13, 2022 1:58 AM

Martin Short can do no wrong.

by Anonymousreply 258September 13, 2022 1:59 AM

I thought there was an announcement that Steve Martin had retired and gone into seclusion?

by Anonymousreply 259September 13, 2022 1:59 AM

The Murders leads really work well together.

by Anonymousreply 260September 13, 2022 2:00 AM

Black Lady Sketch Show is a million times better than SNL.

by Anonymousreply 261September 13, 2022 2:00 AM

Well-deserved once again, John Oliver.

by Anonymousreply 262September 13, 2022 2:00 AM

What is Shows That Are Mostly Watched Via YouTube Clips The Next Day

by Anonymousreply 263September 13, 2022 2:00 AM

Martin Short’s energy is too much. It’s always been like that too

by Anonymousreply 265September 13, 2022 2:01 AM

Why are they no longer in a theatre? Sitting around tables is so Golden Globes.

by Anonymousreply 266September 13, 2022 2:01 AM

I love A Black Lady Sketch Show. There needs to be a few more sketch shows to sort of push out SNL. I recall there was some talk a few years back about a possible In Living Color reboot.

by Anonymousreply 268September 13, 2022 2:02 AM

This bitch announcer wouldn’t have even made it on air in the Spokesmodel Category of Star Search.

by Anonymousreply 269September 13, 2022 2:02 AM

I watch only loved four shows this year..Only Murders, Succession, Abbott Elementary and Severance. Hoping all four get recognition.

by Anonymousreply 270September 13, 2022 2:03 AM

Lazy racist trolls to the back of the line, please.

by Anonymousreply 271September 13, 2022 2:03 AM

R267 No, white people are banned now. Go back to 1867. Night night.

by Anonymousreply 272September 13, 2022 2:03 AM

Martin Short is a genius!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 273September 13, 2022 2:03 AM

Is the announcer lez, non binary or trans?

by Anonymousreply 275September 13, 2022 2:04 AM

R275 Sam Jay is a lez. She used to write on SNL.

by Anonymousreply 276September 13, 2022 2:06 AM

I really enjoyed the US version of Ghosts, but it got no love.

by Anonymousreply 277September 13, 2022 2:07 AM

Has a straight white man won anything, yet?

by Anonymousreply 278September 13, 2022 2:07 AM

I think Melanie Lynskey should win Drama Actress for Yellowjackets.

by Anonymousreply 279September 13, 2022 2:08 AM

"Succession takes about 5-6 episodes to grow on you. I almost gave up several times, was talked out of it by friends and am glad I stuck with it.

But yes, it takes a while."

I agree 100%. I told my friends the same thing (they were thinking of giving up on the second episode) and they loved it.

by Anonymousreply 280September 13, 2022 2:08 AM

Yang is sure to trigger DLers.

by Anonymousreply 281September 13, 2022 2:08 AM

Interesting how Vanessa Bayer was with the SNL crowd.

by Anonymousreply 283September 13, 2022 2:08 AM

Bowen Yang is another annoying SNLer. Mano Agapion should have his career.

by Anonymousreply 284September 13, 2022 2:08 AM

Yes R278, Winner of everything for thousands of years.

by Anonymousreply 285September 13, 2022 2:08 AM

R278, geez are you not watching this show at all?

by Anonymousreply 286September 13, 2022 2:09 AM

R277 I thought Ghosts was better than Abott Elementary.

by Anonymousreply 287September 13, 2022 2:09 AM

Jesus Christ, Yang, did you even TRY to memorize your lines? It was like you were watching a fucking tennis match.

by Anonymousreply 288September 13, 2022 2:10 AM

R279 I agree. She deserves it, but won't get it.

by Anonymousreply 289September 13, 2022 2:10 AM

The writing for this show is TERRIBLE.

by Anonymousreply 290September 13, 2022 2:10 AM

Tonight, Freddie Highmore will be playing the part of Barron Trump.

by Anonymousreply 291September 13, 2022 2:10 AM

Did they pay any writers on this show?

by Anonymousreply 292September 13, 2022 2:10 AM

I think this is the first I've ever heard Freddie Highmore's real voice.

by Anonymousreply 293September 13, 2022 2:10 AM

God this is fucking lame. Chandra West sucks on Grey's Anatomy and The Good Doctor was one of the worst current TV shows.

by Anonymousreply 294September 13, 2022 2:10 AM

Does the announcer not realize she doesn’t have to shout?

by Anonymousreply 295September 13, 2022 2:11 AM

I hope Dever wins, she was fucking amazing in Dopesick.

by Anonymousreply 296September 13, 2022 2:11 AM

Now THIS is a good song choice.

by Anonymousreply 297September 13, 2022 2:11 AM

Jennifer Coolidge looks like a Christmas tree

by Anonymousreply 301September 13, 2022 2:13 AM

It was nice of Shonda Rhymes to give Jennifer a hand ascending the stairs, that autistic boy didn’t know how.

by Anonymousreply 302September 13, 2022 2:13 AM

Jennifer Coolidge. Finally, something we can all agree on.

by Anonymousreply 303September 13, 2022 2:13 AM

I love that Jennifer Coolidge IS her character from White Lotus

by Anonymousreply 304September 13, 2022 2:13 AM

Me too, r287. It’s a shame it wasn’t nominated for anything. The supporting cast is great.

by Anonymousreply 305September 13, 2022 2:13 AM

Does Jennifer Coolidge ever turn it off. God. Plus I hated her character on White Lotus.

by Anonymousreply 306September 13, 2022 2:14 AM

Fuck them they tried to play off Jennifer Coolidge.

by Anonymousreply 307September 13, 2022 2:14 AM

Her husband just tried to use her winning to get attention for himself, lol.

by Anonymousreply 309September 13, 2022 2:15 AM

Amanda, lovely and talented.

by Anonymousreply 310September 13, 2022 2:15 AM

Well, if Jennifer Garner had to lose to someone I’m glad it’s Amanda.

by Anonymousreply 311September 13, 2022 2:16 AM

Somewhere Lindsay Lohan just did another line of coke

by Anonymousreply 312September 13, 2022 2:16 AM

R305 I thought Brandon Scott Jones did some Emmy worthy work.

by Anonymousreply 313September 13, 2022 2:16 AM

I'm happy for Amanda. I love her. She's probably glad that she's not like Lacey Chabert doing numerous crap Hallmark movies.

by Anonymousreply 314September 13, 2022 2:17 AM

Margaret Qualley was excellent too, but Seyfried was better

by Anonymousreply 315September 13, 2022 2:17 AM

Why did they cut off Jennifer Coolidge but not that black bitch who got to belt out a whole singing number?

by Anonymousreply 316September 13, 2022 2:17 AM

Coolidge's was as much a White Lotus win as a career win. I'm glad she didn't let the music chase her away.

by Anonymousreply 317September 13, 2022 2:17 AM

It’s amazing Sydney Sweeney had two noms. Two!

by Anonymousreply 318September 13, 2022 2:17 AM

R30 I think Amanda is always one of the best dressed at award shows.

by Anonymousreply 319September 13, 2022 2:18 AM

LMAO. That DWD trailer didn't even show Harry Styles.

by Anonymousreply 320September 13, 2022 2:18 AM

[quote]Does the announcer not realize she doesn’t have to shout?

Honey, she's black.

by Anonymousreply 321September 13, 2022 2:18 AM

Julia Garner had two too!

by Anonymousreply 322September 13, 2022 2:18 AM

r319 yes, her and Zendaya

by Anonymousreply 323September 13, 2022 2:18 AM

Coolidge should have been given a standing ovation.

by Anonymousreply 324September 13, 2022 2:19 AM

r320 I heard he's terrible in it

by Anonymousreply 325September 13, 2022 2:19 AM

Yeah but Julia>>>>>>>> Sydney.

by Anonymousreply 326September 13, 2022 2:19 AM

That Quantum Leap reboot is going to flop hard.

by Anonymousreply 327September 13, 2022 2:20 AM

This woman is like a fake Melanie Griffith.

by Anonymousreply 328September 13, 2022 2:21 AM

The speeches aren't as woke and political as I thought they'd be.

by Anonymousreply 329September 13, 2022 2:21 AM

Love Michael Keaton, but they let him go on forever. And they cut Jennifer off, who brings comedy gold every time she opens her mouth. Tf?

by Anonymousreply 330September 13, 2022 2:22 AM

R329 oh well then crawl out of your safe space hun.

by Anonymousreply 331September 13, 2022 2:22 AM

Will they give Betty White a tribute?

by Anonymousreply 332September 13, 2022 2:22 AM

R321, you’re sooo funny.

by Anonymousreply 333September 13, 2022 2:22 AM

How many tulle trees had to die for that dress?

by Anonymousreply 336September 13, 2022 2:24 AM

Wow. This is the first time Drag Race lost in years

by Anonymousreply 337September 13, 2022 2:24 AM

I thought Lizzo was going to accept from her toilet.

by Anonymousreply 338September 13, 2022 2:24 AM

The Amazing Race is the only reality show I can abide.

by Anonymousreply 339September 13, 2022 2:24 AM

Ugh watch Lizzo give a long ass speech.

by Anonymousreply 340September 13, 2022 2:24 AM

Omg, Lizzo be trying to hijack the show.

by Anonymousreply 341September 13, 2022 2:24 AM

The stage craft engineers are worried about the weight bearing of the stage right now…

by Anonymousreply 342September 13, 2022 2:24 AM

Lizzo is so shy and humble.

by Anonymousreply 343September 13, 2022 2:25 AM

Oh get off you big black fat bitches!

by Anonymousreply 345September 13, 2022 2:25 AM

Lizzo doesn’t seem to understand she doesn’t need to shout either?

by Anonymousreply 346September 13, 2022 2:25 AM

Why aren't they cutting Lizzo off for going over her time??

by Anonymousreply 347September 13, 2022 2:26 AM

WHY was every other winner's speech cut off, but Lizzo was allowed to caterwaul about her fatness over the time limit?

by Anonymousreply 348September 13, 2022 2:26 AM

I love that Lizza said she’d be the first large black famous woman…in front of Oprah Winfrey

by Anonymousreply 350September 13, 2022 2:26 AM

[quote] Will they give Betty White a tribute?

I hope not. It's bad enough that cunt will be last in the in memoriam segement.

by Anonymousreply 352September 13, 2022 2:27 AM

Oprah loves that too, though.

by Anonymousreply 353September 13, 2022 2:27 AM

That Precious seems to follow me everywhere! Did you all see her?

by Anonymousreply 354September 13, 2022 2:28 AM

Why did Shonda change outfits?

by Anonymousreply 356September 13, 2022 2:28 AM

That closet case Shonda Rhimes is an overrated hack. I think she's worse than Ryan Murphy.

Shonda has no business being on the same stage as out and proud Sarah Paulson.

by Anonymousreply 358September 13, 2022 2:28 AM

We all know why they didn’t cut of Lizzo.

So much class in award ceremonies nowadays.

by Anonymousreply 359September 13, 2022 2:28 AM

why is sarah paulson dressed like a knight?

by Anonymousreply 360September 13, 2022 2:28 AM

Sarah looks like she was costumed by the vampire tailor from the last season of American Horror Story.

by Anonymousreply 361September 13, 2022 2:28 AM

R337 so happy. RuPaul probably thought he owned the category forever going forward. So over his drag race repetitive crap.

by Anonymousreply 362September 13, 2022 2:29 AM

Shonda needs to shut the fuck up. Her shows suck most of the time.

by Anonymousreply 363September 13, 2022 2:29 AM

WTH happened to Sarah Paulson ? She looks like a teenage boy in a Jetsons costume.

by Anonymousreply 364September 13, 2022 2:29 AM

Are they STILL talking about representation?

YAWN

by Anonymousreply 366September 13, 2022 2:29 AM

Jennifer dancing is priceless. I worked on Amazing Race, and there was a reason why that show won all the time- the timing and logistics are crazy on that show. Plus the sound and camera guys running backwards through 40 countries.

by Anonymousreply 367September 13, 2022 2:31 AM

Geena doesn't have a good tooth to gum ratio.

by Anonymousreply 368September 13, 2022 2:32 AM

Sarah has had some shit work done on her face.

by Anonymousreply 369September 13, 2022 2:33 AM

Sarah isn't the great talent people claim

by Anonymousreply 370September 13, 2022 2:34 AM

Hollywood women complaining about representation.

by Anonymousreply 371September 13, 2022 2:34 AM

Geena, my apologies for spelling your name wrong.

by Anonymousreply 372September 13, 2022 2:35 AM

R370: I thought I was the only one. She was completely one dimensional in Impeachment.

by Anonymousreply 373September 13, 2022 2:35 AM

Sarah didn't deserve that nod for Impeachment. Michelle Pfieffer should have a nomination for The First Lady.

by Anonymousreply 374September 13, 2022 2:37 AM

Seth actually looked cute tonight

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 375September 13, 2022 2:37 AM

Sarah looks great for an aging lez. She stands out among all the cookie cutter dresses.

by Anonymousreply 376September 13, 2022 2:38 AM

R373 not at all. It’s all hype. She brings the exact same thing to every role. She’s one note

by Anonymousreply 377September 13, 2022 2:39 AM

If Parker Posey wins an Emmy, then the female cast of Best in Show will all be Emmy winners

by Anonymousreply 378September 13, 2022 2:39 AM

This may not be traditional theater seating but the staged it well.

by Anonymousreply 379September 13, 2022 2:39 AM

[quote] I worked on Amazing Race, and there was a reason why that show won all the time- the timing and logistics are crazy on that show. Plus the sound and camera guys running backwards through 40 countries.

Yeah, but we got fat girls!

by Anonymousreply 380September 13, 2022 2:41 AM

I have never seen Mindy Kaling look better.

by Anonymousreply 381September 13, 2022 2:43 AM

Did The White Lotus just win two writing Emmys? Im confused

by Anonymousreply 386September 13, 2022 2:44 AM

It's Marishhhhhkaaaa . . .

by Anonymousreply 387September 13, 2022 2:45 AM

Mindy looks like she lost weight and got a good nose job

by Anonymousreply 388September 13, 2022 2:46 AM

Notice he didn’t think former friend Laura Dern as their relationship imploded during season 2 of Enlightened

by Anonymousreply 389September 13, 2022 2:46 AM

R386 one directing, one writing.

by Anonymousreply 391September 13, 2022 2:47 AM

Who is Mike White????!!! I know him merely as a contestant on The Amazing Race.

by Anonymousreply 392September 13, 2022 2:48 AM

by Anonymousreply 393September 13, 2022 2:52 AM

Who was the black guy at the bar?

by Anonymousreply 394September 13, 2022 2:54 AM

r394 you are always all over these threads but never know shit about pop culture

by Anonymousreply 397September 13, 2022 2:56 AM

Who's the dipshit in the Daft Punk drag who's trying too hard?

by Anonymousreply 398September 13, 2022 2:56 AM

They gave too much focus on that cunt Betty.

by Anonymousreply 399September 13, 2022 2:57 AM

Best Television Movie - Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers

Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series- Colman Domingo for Euphoria

by Anonymousreply 400September 13, 2022 2:57 AM

This is a terrible In Memoriam segment. Why aren’t there close-ups of all who died?

by Anonymousreply 401September 13, 2022 2:59 AM

I forgot Jean Mac Valle died.

by Anonymousreply 402September 13, 2022 3:00 AM

I'm still going with Melanie Lynskey for Yellowjackets

by Anonymousreply 403September 13, 2022 3:01 AM

Marshhhkkkaa looks great!

by Anonymousreply 404September 13, 2022 3:05 AM

This entire production is an abortion.

The set, the writing, the pacing, the direction — everything is just awful.

Sam Jay is a great comic but a terrible announcer.

by Anonymousreply 406September 13, 2022 3:07 AM

I'm surprised he got it after what he did to Olivia.

by Anonymousreply 407September 13, 2022 3:07 AM

He did nothing to awful Olivia. She has tons of bad press right now

by Anonymousreply 408September 13, 2022 3:08 AM

Yes, because she is such a beacon of light in the industry and in the world R407.

by Anonymousreply 409September 13, 2022 3:08 AM

Will Arnett had a show on Netflix I liked that they quietly canceled

by Anonymousreply 410September 13, 2022 3:09 AM

Wilde was just awful on House, I hated every one of her scenes.

by Anonymousreply 413September 13, 2022 3:11 AM

Wilde is awful in everything. She's a nepotism baby

by Anonymousreply 414September 13, 2022 3:13 AM

AND here comes the obsessed frau CUNT R407 who brings NOTHING to the thread but an agenda only she has.

by Anonymousreply 415September 13, 2022 3:15 AM

I vaguely enjoying Olivia on The O.C.

I have not seen one thing she has been in since. I didn't even see her film with the fat chicks that she directed.

I will check out Don't Fuck Me Darlings.

by Anonymousreply 416September 13, 2022 3:16 AM

Has anyone watched Severance? I heard its great

by Anonymousreply 417September 13, 2022 3:18 AM

What? Are they insane? I loved the birthday episode of Succession.

by Anonymousreply 418September 13, 2022 3:19 AM

Severance is fantastic. Unlike most shows it builds and builds and the finale is the best episode.

by Anonymousreply 419September 13, 2022 3:19 AM

Many of the winners are satisfying, but the actual production is the worst Emmys I've ever seen.

Awful host and announcer. Cheap set (what genius said let's get some fake ferns and put Christmas lights in 'em?). Abysmal writing. Even the music cues going into commercials are mistimed.

by Anonymousreply 420September 13, 2022 3:20 AM

wty why are people standing for Zendaya of all people?

by Anonymousreply 421September 13, 2022 3:21 AM

No! Melanie deserved it, she was riveting.

by Anonymousreply 422September 13, 2022 3:21 AM

Linney and Lynskey were far more deserving. Ugh..

by Anonymousreply 423September 13, 2022 3:21 AM

R421 = Oldster who only watches Andy Griffith reruns.

by Anonymousreply 424September 13, 2022 3:22 AM

Well, Reese wasn’t buying any of that.

by Anonymousreply 425September 13, 2022 3:22 AM

Kind of bummed at how predictable 90% of the categories have been.

by Anonymousreply 426September 13, 2022 3:22 AM

I was rooting for Linney. oh well.

by Anonymousreply 427September 13, 2022 3:23 AM

lol Reese Witherspoon's face

by Anonymousreply 428September 13, 2022 3:23 AM

Jesus Christ I even wore a fucking Coffee filter and I *Still* didn’t win the God Damn thing

by Anonymousreply 430September 13, 2022 3:24 AM

Where’s Reese’s one-note, one expression costar Jennifer?

by Anonymousreply 431September 13, 2022 3:24 AM

r425 her face was like "awwwww she's precious"

Nothing negative there

by Anonymousreply 432September 13, 2022 3:24 AM

I CAN NOT STOP CRYING FOR ZENDAYA. OMG SO DESERVED

by Anonymousreply 433September 13, 2022 3:25 AM

Has Zendaya ever played anything other than the dangerous cool girl?

by Anonymousreply 434September 13, 2022 3:25 AM

R431: Rightfully snubbed.

by Anonymousreply 435September 13, 2022 3:25 AM

Zendaya is the real deal. I'm happy she won.

I don't understand the complaints are about the show. It's moving along, it's fun. Not all the jokes are hitting, but that's all award shows.

by Anonymousreply 436September 13, 2022 3:26 AM

I’m happy Zendaya won, She’s talented, excellent in the role and she is lovely and gracious.

by Anonymousreply 437September 13, 2022 3:26 AM

Where is Zach Braff and his sultry pout

by Anonymousreply 438September 13, 2022 3:27 AM

I found Zendaya to be boring in Season 2. I wish Alexa Demie who plays Maddy to be underrated.

by Anonymousreply 440September 13, 2022 3:29 AM

r440 Alexa Demie would be supporting, like Sydney Sweeney. She had nothing to work with in season 2

by Anonymousreply 441September 13, 2022 3:30 AM

Madonna, take note of Jean Smart age 71. Gorgeous figure, dignified and hot.

by Anonymousreply 443September 13, 2022 3:31 AM

Molly Shannon looks amazing

by Anonymousreply 444September 13, 2022 3:32 AM

Am I the only one overwhelmed by the quantity of recommended (and apparently good) shows this season?

by Anonymousreply 445September 13, 2022 3:32 AM

Is Sarah Paulson starring in the Pinocchio live action movie - the fucking makeup! I am not going to comment on the hair and dress. WTF!

by Anonymousreply 446September 13, 2022 3:32 AM

Is Lucia Aniello's flamboyant husband there?

by Anonymousreply 447September 13, 2022 3:32 AM

Tagging along with John Legend is the closest that bitch Chrissy will EVER get to any award.

by Anonymousreply 448September 13, 2022 3:33 AM

Whoever is in charge of the In Memoriam segment of the show should make note to include Network TV next year.

It’s officially dead.

by Anonymousreply 449September 13, 2022 3:33 AM

That director's dress is fucking hideous.

by Anonymousreply 450September 13, 2022 3:33 AM

Ted Lasso is nothing special. Stop giving it awards.

by Anonymousreply 451September 13, 2022 3:33 AM

They could have at least had Jacob Eldori be a presenter. That would have cheered me up from this mostly shit show.

by Anonymousreply 453September 13, 2022 3:34 AM

Jake Lacey is so fucking bland. Who's the jagoff desperate to make him happen?

by Anonymousreply 455September 13, 2022 3:35 AM

That new show he's starring in looks good

by Anonymousreply 456September 13, 2022 3:38 AM

There was a twinkle of jealousy in Sydney's eyes as Zendaya accepted her award

by Anonymousreply 457September 13, 2022 3:38 AM

Thank God -- I thought Succession was gonna get hosed this year.

by Anonymousreply 459September 13, 2022 3:40 AM

The DJ has go. Whatever happened to having an orchestra?

by Anonymousreply 460September 13, 2022 3:40 AM

[quote]Jesus Christ I even wore a fucking Coffee filter and I *Still* didn’t win the God Damn thing.

I feel your pain, Laura

by Anonymousreply 461September 13, 2022 3:40 AM

The writing on Succession is exceptional.

by Anonymousreply 462September 13, 2022 3:41 AM

Did they play "Shake Your Booty" for the Succession writer who won because he seems to have a big ass?

He does seem to have a big ass.

by Anonymousreply 463September 13, 2022 3:41 AM

Not watching, but are Tom. Holland and Harry Styles whoring it up tonight?

(I know Harry has commitments, but he could zoom in.)

by Anonymousreply 464September 13, 2022 3:41 AM

Linney has won an Emmy before, no?

by Anonymousreply 465September 13, 2022 3:42 AM

The lead actors on Succession are so good they must have cancelled each other out. Damn.

by Anonymousreply 466September 13, 2022 3:43 AM

Jason Bateman's wig is odious. He deserved to lose for that alone.

by Anonymousreply 467September 13, 2022 3:43 AM

No offense Lee Jung-Jae, but this is bullshit.

Jeremy Strong was robbed.

by Anonymousreply 468September 13, 2022 3:43 AM

Christ on a fucking CRUTCH, Bassett. Must EVERYTHING be for the cheap seats in the back?

by Anonymousreply 469September 13, 2022 3:43 AM

Squid Game wasn't all that. There, I said it.

by Anonymousreply 470September 13, 2022 3:43 AM

[quote]Whatever happened to having an orchestra?

Jeremy Strong and Brian Cox got robbed.

by Anonymousreply 472September 13, 2022 3:44 AM

Taron is a fag and bottomed (topped?) Elton, right?

Or maybe fucked Richard Madden for Elton’s amusement.

Thoughts?

by Anonymousreply 473September 13, 2022 3:44 AM

Almost everyone predicted Lee winning, btw.

by Anonymousreply 474September 13, 2022 3:45 AM

Laura Linney has won four Emmys.

by Anonymousreply 475September 13, 2022 3:46 AM

Squid Game better not beat Succession or Severance for best drama.but looks like it will. Stupid Emmy voters.

by Anonymousreply 476September 13, 2022 3:48 AM

Who is the weirdo who designed Juliet Lewis' dress?

by Anonymousreply 477September 13, 2022 3:49 AM

Angela Bassett looked beautiful but that didn’t look like Angela’s original face.

by Anonymousreply 478September 13, 2022 3:49 AM

The dress Juliette Lewis is wearing is my favorite of the night.

by Anonymousreply 479September 13, 2022 3:50 AM

Why is Juliette Lewis moving like that?

by Anonymousreply 480September 13, 2022 3:50 AM

Who is the weirdo who designed Juliet Lewis' FACE?

by Anonymousreply 481September 13, 2022 3:51 AM

Fucking Sidney Sweeney oozed her way to center stage and you can see the other one's boobies.

by Anonymousreply 482September 13, 2022 3:51 AM

R479. Have you seen those photos of her fucking that Terry Richardson perv?

Her pussy used to be tight, but after that…

by Anonymousreply 483September 13, 2022 3:52 AM

Ugh fucking Pete Davidson. I hope Pete, Kate McKinnon, Kenan and some of the other overrated SNL hacks disappear from Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 485September 13, 2022 3:54 AM

When it comes to award shows, I do miss Robin Williams.

by Anonymousreply 487September 13, 2022 3:55 AM

by Anonymousreply 488September 13, 2022 3:55 AM

Pete Davidson?

With all the rumors, I want to see it, but wouldn’t get within 10 feet of it.

by Anonymousreply 490September 13, 2022 3:57 AM

Well then R486, it’s crap with the award.

by Anonymousreply 491September 13, 2022 3:57 AM

I watched two episodes of Ted Lasso.

It defines "heterosexual twee."

by Anonymousreply 492September 13, 2022 3:58 AM

r482 Sydney knew where she belonged, front and center.

Alexandra Daddario and Sydney are both large breasted women with beautiful bodies and looks

by Anonymousreply 493September 13, 2022 3:58 AM

Thank God the next season of Ted Lasso will be its last.

by Anonymousreply 494September 13, 2022 4:00 AM

I take it gentleperson at R489 that you do not watch it, unless someone is holding a gun to your head, so why would you care?

by Anonymousreply 495September 13, 2022 4:00 AM

SUCCESSION! Almost all is forgiven.

by Anonymousreply 496September 13, 2022 4:01 AM

I'm glad Squid Game didn't win.

by Anonymousreply 497September 13, 2022 4:01 AM

Who the hell is this presenter?

by Anonymousreply 498September 13, 2022 4:01 AM

The Euphoria bitches at their table shaking their heads.

Keep it classy, ladies.

by Anonymousreply 500September 13, 2022 4:02 AM

So sick of this fucking overrated show.

by Anonymousreply 501September 13, 2022 4:03 AM

Such random presenters for the big categories.

by Anonymousreply 502September 13, 2022 4:03 AM

Kenan's voice is more annoying than Jennifer Coolidge's voice.

by Anonymousreply 506September 13, 2022 4:05 AM

by Anonymousreply 507September 13, 2022 4:07 AM

[quote]They are trying to get people back to awards shows, which means trying to modernize them for a younger audience.

Excellent euphemism that " younger audience." We all know what you mean.

by Anonymousreply 509September 13, 2022 4:07 AM

Despite some inspired choices, there were just too many repeats this year (Comedy Series, Drama Series, Comedy Actor, Comedy Supporting Actor, Comedy Actress, Drama Actress, Drama Supporting Actress).

by Anonymousreply 510September 13, 2022 4:08 AM

If they are trying to appeal to a younger audience, why did all the fossils win?

by Anonymousreply 511September 13, 2022 4:09 AM

R511, I think playing the brady bunch and friends themes and other song choices, they're going for an older crowd.

by Anonymousreply 512September 13, 2022 4:11 AM

R510 that is always the case with TV awards. Happens all the time.

by Anonymousreply 513September 13, 2022 4:11 AM

R512 they’re doing CLASSIC themes. Friends is popular with Gen Z. Where have you been?

by Anonymousreply 514September 13, 2022 4:12 AM

R510 it’s the same every year. I don’t think there’s been one year where over 50 percent of the acting winners were all new. Except for the very first year of the Emmys of course.

by Anonymousreply 515September 13, 2022 4:17 AM

I am thrilled Colman Domingo was awarded for Euphoria. He’s wonderful on there.

I wish Martha won for Guest Actress.

by Anonymousreply 517September 13, 2022 4:34 AM

Best part of the night was the legendary Sheryl Lee Ralph pulling out a surprise win. I thought her costar Janelle James would win. She’s great too, but SLR is even better on Abbot Elementary.

I wish Severance had won something…it was my favorite new show. Was also rooting for Linney, but I can’t disagree with a Zendaya win. She really does give a balls out performance on Euphoria.

R519 A lot of critics and journalists had Janelle James as their pick to win. I was surprised as well by SLR's win. I'm happy for SLR, she has always been an underrated actress.

by Anonymousreply 520September 13, 2022 5:20 AM

R518 I read a predictor (I think Variety) who thought James was taking it or it would go to Hannah again.

SLR winning was a pleasant surprise

by Anonymousreply 521September 13, 2022 5:20 AM

Finally RuPaul did not win? That show has become as ubiquitous as McDonalds.

Fun fact: Jean Smart’s dress also cinched up her face. How many facelifts has she had?

by Anonymousreply 522September 13, 2022 5:24 AM

RuPaul did win a Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program (for the seventh year in a row.)

The Creative Arts Emmys were handed out Sept 3rd and 4th this year.

His show did not win tonight, however.

by Anonymousreply 523September 13, 2022 5:31 AM

by Anonymousreply 526September 13, 2022 6:44 AM

That black lady who won for her category then sang her acceptance speech was a staggering, goose flesh inducing zenith.

by Anonymousreply 527September 13, 2022 8:06 AM

When Sheryl Lee Ralph started singing, I had to mute it. I thought, GIRL NO.

I half-expected her to mime leaning into a wall while holding a phone and giggling, then shouting out to the late Barrie Youngfellow.

by Anonymousreply 528September 13, 2022 8:20 AM

All those original Dream Girl performers have had to live in the shadow of Jennifer Holiday for decades, this was her chance to finally breakout from that shadow and claim some notoriety and she wasn’t going to let it pass without singing out.

I come from a family of educators and have worked in elementary education. She nails that particular type of Kindergarten teacher to a T, so the award was much deserved.

by Anonymousreply 529September 13, 2022 9:03 AM

R528 me too! I have a real big issue with people doing things like that. It makes me SO uncomfortable. Not even sure why.

God, Kenan was awful and that opening number was a disaster. Did they get Debbie Allen out of mothballs to choreograph it?

by Anonymousreply 534September 13, 2022 1:12 PM

Kenan was not awful. He did what he was supposed to do. He kept the show moving. That Hollywood Reporter review is shortsighted. He's upset that the same shows were recognized? That the Emmy voters only watch a few buzzy shows? Mr. Scott Feinberg is an idiot.

by Anonymousreply 535September 13, 2022 1:15 PM

Since there are few network shows nominated anymore, rotate the show on the streaming outlets.

Outside of that, there’s the hard fact that with the exception of ABC’s sublime Abbott Elementary, the networks have no skin in the game this year when it comes to the major categories.

As one wise man said to me earlier today: “NBC is essentially stuck showing a three-hour promo for HBO and Netflix.” Toss in a dollop of Hulu, are and you have the primary food groups of the contemporary small screen.

[quote] What’s messed up is there are good network shows but they get overlooked because they don’t include cussing and nudity? It’s weird.

This is Us was nominated for Emmys for several years. Weirdly, in the final season the show didn't receive any acting nominations and it only had a Creative Arts nomination for music and lyrics.

I don't mind cussing or nudity in shows. But, those things don't make a show better. There are some cable and streaming shows that are awful because of bad acting and bad writing.

When overrated cunt Shonda Rhimes signed her deal with Netflix, her idiot leghumping fans applauded the move saying she would have more freedom in storytelling. Bridgeton and Inventing Anna imo were just average at best shows and they weren't anything special. Netflix is only giving Rhimes freedom in adding in cussing and nudity. She still sucks at writing shows. It's funny how she never really gets called out by the critics for how shitty Grey's Anatomy turned out.

by Anonymousreply 546September 13, 2022 3:02 PM

R545 no doubt you meant that sarcastically, but it was such poor sarcasm that I’ll take it as a compliment. Thanks!!

by Anonymousreply 547September 13, 2022 3:06 PM

[quote]I don't mind cussing or nudity in shows. But, those things don't make a show better.

Yes, it's very odd to me how people clamor for swearing and nudity in shows, as if they have anything to do with quality.

You see it right now with the soap Days of our Lives moving from NBC to Peacock -- "finally, they can cuss and show skin!"

by Anonymousreply 548September 13, 2022 3:10 PM

My highlights were Jennifer Coolidge dancing & Mike White talking about being on Survivor (he was first on Amazing Race, with his father).

by Anonymousreply 549September 13, 2022 3:36 PM

Jennifer Coolidge made an ass of herself.

by Anonymousreply 550September 13, 2022 3:37 PM

It's good to see some people calling out Kenan's crappy hosting of the show.

by Anonymousreply 551September 13, 2022 3:43 PM

Jennifer Coolidge was the fucking worst. But of course, everyone fucking loved it. Bitch is too old to be acting that way.

Jennifer Coolidge could give a crap deep down and I'm here for it. I'm a fan of hers and I truly believe she just doesn't care. It was nice that she brought her sister with her to the Emmys. Her sister is pretty.

Sheryl Lee Ralph I adore. She was one of the original Dreamgirls as we all know. She's luminous and effervescent. She earned her nomination and award for her very fine work and owned that fact in a heartfelt and diva like fashion. Her figure is outta site!

The seating and the whole gold carpet thing was weird to me. Keenan was alright. He tried to keep things rolling but he hasn't much charisma in general.

This year's Emmys really made me miss Joan Rivers commentary and opining.

Squid Game is far out. The one fellow with the glasses got the goods. He's masculine and has great bone structure. Even for the gold carpet he stood out with the translator at the ready. He was asked about the nominations and said he was a winner already! Works for me.

by Anonymousreply 557September 13, 2022 4:07 PM

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell were quite talented as child and teen actors. But, as adults they are bland as fuck.

by Anonymousreply 565September 13, 2022 4:19 PM

Good for Sheryl Lee Ralph, she's an older woman who has a major role on an excellent sitcom. A sitcom, both critics and fans love.

Remember, youth doesn't necessarily translate to talent.

These days, there is so much garbage on TV and on streaming services. So much of what is being produced these days is extremely mediocre. I read glowing reviews, then watch the series and usually say: "What did I miss? This series sucks!"

Like Succession, this series and the characters are excruciating. These people exist in real life, I don't want to pay to watch these annoying self-absorbed entitled creeps on TV.

by Anonymousreply 566September 13, 2022 4:20 PM

The camera people should be shunned, the producers should not hire them for next year's show

by Anonymousreply 568September 13, 2022 4:34 PM

I find John Legend very skeevy for some reason, like he has dirty, dirty secrets he’s hiding.

by Anonymousreply 569September 13, 2022 5:05 PM

[quote]The camera work during the In Memoriam segment was terrible, you could barely see the people on the screens behind John Legend. The camera people should be shunned, the producers should not hire them for next year's show

Do you know who is responsible for the shots that are seen on your tv screen? The director. The camera operators ( if they are not robots) merely focus on what they are told. So, don't rehire the director .

by Anonymousreply 570September 13, 2022 5:14 PM

So everyone is falling all over themselves because the actress from Dreamgirls, a Broadway musical, won an Emmy for Abbott Elementary, a TV show.

That makes sense.

Julia Garner was terrific in early seasons of Ozark.

By the end, the character had devolved (blame the writers in part) into a Yosemite Sam cartoon. She didn’t deserve this last award.

Linney deserved to win but the quality of the last half season tainted the show.

I noted Cory Booker's former fiancee Rosario Dawson was unrecognizable and looked younger than Springtime. I was shocked seeing her in Dopesick looking so old. I assume she got herself refreshed.

No one expects the black people to win every award r581

Do you ever stop trolling?

R582 dearie, I do recall the absolute hissy fit last year when a black actress ONLY won supporting and black twitter's drama queens bursting into flame because black people DESERVE LEAD ACTING OSCARS!!!!!

Ha! R575/r577/r582 has posted 100 times in this thread. What an OCD loser! She does this in every award thread. She has to be obese.

[quote]Do you know who is responsible for the shots that are seen on your tv screen? The director. The camera operators ( if they are not robots) merely focus on what they are told. So, don't rehire the director .

Okay, sure, like everything else wrong in today's fucked up world, the rot starts from the head down.

But surely, as a working photographer, I certainly know what a bad shot is. The camera people zooming out must have figured the TV and streaming audience couldn't read most of the names of the deceased, especially during the wide shots. Pretty sure the camera operators wore headsets to inform the director about that.

R584 doesn’t know the difference between the Emmys and Oscars

by Anonymousreply 587September 13, 2022 6:12 PM

R587 of course I do. At the Emmys they always give the Emmy to the same person or show they gave it to the year before (see John Oliver, etc.). Except when there's a black person among the nominees in which case they must win.

The racists are out in full force and must be pleased to have killed another thread.
