OFFICIAL 2022 Emmys Thread
Andrew Hansen
The show is on tonight girls! Yes, it’s a far cry from the Oscars but we all need a little glamour in our lives these days.
And Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett are likely winners for The White Lotus and you just know her acceptance speech will be one for the ages.
| by Anonymous | reply 602 | September 13, 2022 6:28 PM |
I was reading Coolidge‘s wiki page and I was wondering why nobody mentioned her turn as Lexi Featherston. Then I remembered why.
| by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 12, 2022 1:17 PM |
I know Keaton has it locked, but I’m bummed that Oscar Isaac isn’t going to win for Scenes From a Marriage. He was excellent in it. And the Jessica Chastain snub still stings.
| by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 12, 2022 1:24 PM |
I'm rooting for Abbott Elementary.
| by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 12, 2022 1:33 PM |
R1, were you thrilled to find out you were wrong, and there are two amazonian queens to love? I wish Kristin Johnson would get more work.
| by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 12, 2022 1:55 PM |
They are on a Monday? is that the usual?
| by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 12, 2022 1:56 PM |
I am excited to see who wins for Hacks.
| by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 12, 2022 1:56 PM |
NBC has Sunday Night Football, r6. They paid a lot of money for that, so they're not gonna preempt it when they aren't winning any awards, except maybe (I hope) for Seth Meyers.
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 12, 2022 2:21 PM |
Ugh, I hope Ted Lasso gets shut out for it’s terrible second season but of course that won’t happen
Rooting for The Dropout and Abbott Elementary
Too bad that more people aren’t watching The Great
| by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 12, 2022 2:27 PM |
I only watched Dopesick thanks to so many comments about how great it was on DL - so thank you DL!
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 12, 2022 2:28 PM |
Since just about every nominee is on pay streaming services, no one really cares about who wins, since they haven't seen the shows.
| by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 12, 2022 2:28 PM |
Is any Brit going to win and do a tribute to the Queen?
| by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 12, 2022 2:28 PM |
Maybe people in nursing homes, R11, but most people under 70 watch apps, whether it’s with or without a regular cable subscription.
YouTubers rack up more views than broadcast shows. Most broadcast shows are on their parent company’s streaming service.
| by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 12, 2022 2:42 PM |
R9 Lasso bombed BTL so I would be surprised if they won too much tonight.
| by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 12, 2022 2:43 PM |
The Emmys get stuck on one show for a long time, R14. It felt like the Frasier, 30 Rock, and Modern Family streaks went on far too long.
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 12, 2022 2:50 PM |
Murray Bartlett for Best Ass Eating?
| by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 12, 2022 2:53 PM |
And Best Pooping in a Suitcase, r16.
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 12, 2022 3:00 PM |
R15 yes, but they’ve worked to change the voting system. I believe it’s more voters who vote for the winners now, as opposed to a small group of a blue ribbon panel. Gone are the days when Julia Louis Dreyfuss wins like seven or eight years in a row. That being said, it’s impossible to watch everything. So they basically watch clips of the shows. Flawed system but it is what it is. It’ll probably evolve to buzzworth y, social media hyped shows winning more. One true test will be if Squid Game can beat Succession for best drama series.
| by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 12, 2022 3:02 PM |
R2: After her awful, undeserved Oscar win, I was so happy to see her snubbed here.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 12, 2022 3:02 PM |
Unpopular opinion but Hacks is overrated.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 12, 2022 3:03 PM |
R20 the second season was great. I like Hannah, but the rest of the supporting cast is pretty weak. (The black mother and her friend are horrible.) Id love to see Jean doing every minute of it, but that ain’t gonna happen.
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 12, 2022 3:09 PM |
R21: I don't get Hannah Einbinder at all. She did nothing prior to Hacks and she's not funny, talented, or hot.
| by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 12, 2022 3:18 PM |
[quote]Is any Brit going to win and do a tribute to the Queen?
I hope half-Brit Andrew Garfield wins for Under the Banner of Heaven. I couldn't care less if he mentions the queen.
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 12, 2022 3:39 PM |
Unfortunately Zendaya will win emmy #2.
| by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 12, 2022 3:41 PM |
I don’t watch Euphoria but keep hearing how amazing Zendaya is in it.
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 12, 2022 5:43 PM |
Zendaya is great in Euphoria but very bleak. Even more depressing than Dopesick.
| by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 12, 2022 5:45 PM |
I predict Abbott Elementary will win Best Comedy, Steve Martin will win Best Actor, Jean Smart will win Best Actress, Henry Winkler will win Best Supporting Actor, Janelle James will win Best Supporting Actress.
For drama, I think Succession will win Best Drama, Brian Cox will win Best Actor, Zendaya will win Best Actress, Kieran Culkin will win Best Supporting Actor and Rhea Seehorn will win Best Supporting Actress.
If Squid Game wins anything, I'll be happy too.
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 12, 2022 5:51 PM |
Where will Anne Heche place in the In Memoriam segment?
| by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 12, 2022 9:20 PM |
I just know that cunt Betty will be last in the In Memoriam segment. Overrated cunt.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 12, 2022 11:37 PM |
"The Beatles: Get Back" has won all 5 Emmys it was nominated for.

Laura Linney looks terrible in her coffee filter dress
| by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 12, 2022 11:48 PM |
Who would have guessed Henry Winkler would have a late career comeback?
| by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 12, 2022 11:59 PM |
Is this the official thread?
| by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 13, 2022 12:01 AM |
Why is Laverne interviewing? Oh my.
| by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 13, 2022 12:03 AM |
Loni Love is quite fun.
Oh, Laverne is a hot mess. Quinta Brunson made really thoughtful comments about the state of education and Laverne replied, “That’s amazing!”
| by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 13, 2022 12:21 AM |
I love Nicole Byer from her podcasts. But, that getup is atrocious.
| by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 13, 2022 12:26 AM |
Melanie Lynskey looks like she has gained weight and she sounds better when doing an American accent.
| by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 13, 2022 12:29 AM |
Ugh, the Syndey Sweeney cunt is on the red carpet.
| by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 13, 2022 12:30 AM |
I actually loved Nicole Byer’s outfit.
| by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 13, 2022 12:32 AM |
Is Christian Siriano Project Runway’s Kelly Clarkson?
| by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 13, 2022 12:35 AM |
I was recently listening to an episode of Two Old Queens podcast and Nicole Byer their pick to play Oda Mae in a all gay Ghost remake.
| by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 13, 2022 12:35 AM |
Adam Scott's hair looks like shit.
| by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 13, 2022 12:36 AM |
This dress is not doing Sydney any favors.
Offsite Link| by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 13, 2022 12:37 AM |
Ugh, that overrated cunt Arianna DeBose is there.
| by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 13, 2022 12:37 AM |
This would have been a beautiful dress had it been full length.

I can't believe "The Good Fight" has been ignored every one of it's seasons for the past five years. Does Paramount+ not even send their show in for consideration ?
| by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 13, 2022 12:47 AM |
That cunt Sarah Paulson has an awful haircut. Did that old hag Holland cut it?
| by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 13, 2022 12:49 AM |
Ben Stiller looks hot with the silver hair
| by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 13, 2022 12:51 AM |

I like Kaitlyn Dever's dress.
| by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 13, 2022 12:51 AM |
Is that the MAGA chick at R43?
| by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 13, 2022 12:52 AM |
Why bother? Whoever won last year will win again. Emmy's are boring as shit.
| by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 13, 2022 12:52 AM |
That twitter pic of Andrew Garfield...he's packing

Linney looks like a standing lamp
| by Anonymous | reply 63 | September 13, 2022 12:56 AM |
Zendaya looks like something out of Valley of the Dolls - it's a great look.
| by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 13, 2022 12:56 AM |
I like Sydney’s look to the dinner last night more than what she wore to the actual event
Although probably too sexy for the Emmys
Offsite Link| by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 13, 2022 12:56 AM |
Is Michael Keaton there? Because I have had a crush on him for years and IMO he will always be hot.
| by Anonymous | reply 66 | September 13, 2022 12:56 AM |
I don't watch many tv shows but Succession is far above the others. All nominations it has should be won.
| by Anonymous | reply 69 | September 13, 2022 1:00 AM |
Where's Jennifer Coolidge?
| by Anonymous | reply 70 | September 13, 2022 1:01 AM |
I’m surprised, I’m able to stream it through HULU.
| by Anonymous | reply 71 | September 13, 2022 1:02 AM |
I’m streaming through Peacock.
Wasn’t it on CBS last year?
| by Anonymous | reply 73 | September 13, 2022 1:03 AM |
Why isn’t Maureen there?
| by Anonymous | reply 74 | September 13, 2022 1:05 AM |
What is the point of this opening?
| by Anonymous | reply 75 | September 13, 2022 1:05 AM |
The dancing is unexpected. Terrible, and fun?
| by Anonymous | reply 76 | September 13, 2022 1:05 AM |
R66 He should be, he’s been a lock to win his category since the winter.
| by Anonymous | reply 77 | September 13, 2022 1:06 AM |
[quote]and Rhea Seehorn will win Best Supporting Actress.
Ugh.
Please not one-note Seehorn.
| by Anonymous | reply 78 | September 13, 2022 1:06 AM |
This was probably Kenan's idea. He's an overrated hack. I wonder if he squandered all his child actor money and that's why he's stuck doing SNL.
| by Anonymous | reply 79 | September 13, 2022 1:06 AM |
This opening sucks. And I say that as a Kenan fan.
I’m glad Get Back won, that was the best thing I saw last year, film or tv.
| by Anonymous | reply 80 | September 13, 2022 1:06 AM |
I like it, it's fun and something different. And everyone can related to TV theme songs.
| by Anonymous | reply 81 | September 13, 2022 1:06 AM |
And one and two and Fosse Fosse ball change and end scene.

Oprah, this is not your silhouette my Queen
| by Anonymous | reply 84 | September 13, 2022 1:07 AM |
This show is going to suck, isn’t it?
| by Anonymous | reply 85 | September 13, 2022 1:07 AM |
Maureen is in the UK for the Queens’s funeral proceedings.
| by Anonymous | reply 88 | September 13, 2022 1:07 AM |
Julia Garner always looks adorable.
| by Anonymous | reply 89 | September 13, 2022 1:08 AM |
Oprah looks "thin". For her.
| by Anonymous | reply 90 | September 13, 2022 1:08 AM |
Martin Short gazing at Oprah from the audience, enduring that inspirational speech, made me laugh out loud.
| by Anonymous | reply 92 | September 13, 2022 1:09 AM |
Why does Oprah always sound so pompous?
| by Anonymous | reply 93 | September 13, 2022 1:09 AM |
Steve Martin and Martin Short front row!
| by Anonymous | reply 94 | September 13, 2022 1:09 AM |
Why make us listen to Coldplay?
| by Anonymous | reply 96 | September 13, 2022 1:10 AM |
Does no one think Odenkirk will get the sympathy vote for almost dying during production this season?
| by Anonymous | reply 97 | September 13, 2022 1:10 AM |
Anthony Edwards is at Michael’s table with his wife Mare.
| by Anonymous | reply 99 | September 13, 2022 1:11 AM |
Congratulations. Now wrap it up, Keaton.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
| by Anonymous | reply 100 | September 13, 2022 1:11 AM |
Was that Anthony Edwards? He looks great
| by Anonymous | reply 101 | September 13, 2022 1:11 AM |
Odenkirk lucked out to survive a heart attack. UNM Hospital in Albuquerque is a fucking shithole hospital and most of their employees are dumb as fuck.
| by Anonymous | reply 102 | September 13, 2022 1:11 AM |
Andrew Garfield never wins anything but always gets nominated
| by Anonymous | reply 104 | September 13, 2022 1:12 AM |
Did Anthony Edwards convert to Judaism after marrying Mare?
| by Anonymous | reply 105 | September 13, 2022 1:12 AM |
Keaton is already talking too much
| by Anonymous | reply 107 | September 13, 2022 1:12 AM |
He made a show about millions of people getting hooked on painkillers and his speech is totally self-involved, yuck.
| by Anonymous | reply 108 | September 13, 2022 1:13 AM |
R105 Do we know this because he had a late in life circumcision?
| by Anonymous | reply 109 | September 13, 2022 1:13 AM |
So glad bitch Lady GAGA didn’t win for her Tony concert. Bitch was in it for the Emmy not Tony.
| by Anonymous | reply 110 | September 13, 2022 1:13 AM |
I wish everyone nominated from Dopesick and White Lotus could win this category, but Murray deserves it for being the hottest.
| by Anonymous | reply 112 | September 13, 2022 1:14 AM |
It sounded like Jean said "Mary Harlett".
| by Anonymous | reply 116 | September 13, 2022 1:16 AM |
White Lotus was so weird, but so riveting.
| by Anonymous | reply 117 | September 13, 2022 1:16 AM |
I love Connie Britton’s look
| by Anonymous | reply 118 | September 13, 2022 1:16 AM |
Murray was a Guiding Light alum.
| by Anonymous | reply 120 | September 13, 2022 1:16 AM |
Peter S doesn’t look thrilled to lose.

Laraine Newman’s crotch fruit.
| by Anonymous | reply 123 | September 13, 2022 1:18 AM |
What was that non-binary DJ all about? They won’t be interrupting throughout will they?
| by Anonymous | reply 124 | September 13, 2022 1:18 AM |
I liked that Maggie G was even more grudging with her clapping than Peter S, good spouse.
| by Anonymous | reply 125 | September 13, 2022 1:19 AM |
[quote]Murray was a Guiding Light alum.
That’s where I first saw him. He was so good looking but I never would have thought he’d one day win an Emmy.
| by Anonymous | reply 126 | September 13, 2022 1:19 AM |
We do not need a George Clooney/Julia Roberts geriatric RomCom!
| by Anonymous | reply 127 | September 13, 2022 1:19 AM |
I wish Sydney wore something like this. She’s the newest young sex symbol in Hollywood. She should have went with this. It’s hot but still classy.

R104 Garfield has won a Tony, plus a golden globe.
| by Anonymous | reply 129 | September 13, 2022 1:20 AM |
Murray acted with Tom Pelphrey, another GL alum and Emmy nominee tonight.
| by Anonymous | reply 130 | September 13, 2022 1:21 AM |
I love this table set up. I hope they keep this going forward. I do wonder how they decide who sits where.
| by Anonymous | reply 131 | September 13, 2022 1:21 AM |
I loved Murray in "Looking" on HBO, but you all took that away from me with your hate.
| by Anonymous | reply 132 | September 13, 2022 1:21 AM |
Jean Smart looked fantastic. Great for any age, but especially 70.
I hated White Lotus. HATED IT.
| by Anonymous | reply 133 | September 13, 2022 1:22 AM |
Contra R48, I think Jean Smart looks great.
| by Anonymous | reply 134 | September 13, 2022 1:22 AM |
R131 I liked last years table setup. It was small and worked better.
| by Anonymous | reply 135 | September 13, 2022 1:22 AM |
The DL White Lotus thread was one of my all time favorites.
| by Anonymous | reply 136 | September 13, 2022 1:23 AM |
He’s not a good host…
| by Anonymous | reply 137 | September 13, 2022 1:24 AM |
Sydney Sweeney is a wall-eyed whore.
| by Anonymous | reply 138 | September 13, 2022 1:24 AM |
I like Kenan but bro, wrap it up.
| by Anonymous | reply 142 | September 13, 2022 1:26 AM |
Whoever is producing this is really fucking up with the camera timing.
| by Anonymous | reply 143 | September 13, 2022 1:28 AM |
So there’s the non-binary in a tux AND a DJ? Couldn’t they combine that into one job and make the salary a donation for Philadelphia school supplies too?
| by Anonymous | reply 144 | September 13, 2022 1:28 AM |
I’m so happy for Tom.
(terrible choices by this DJ)
| by Anonymous | reply 146 | September 13, 2022 1:29 AM |
The start of a Succession tsunami?
| by Anonymous | reply 147 | September 13, 2022 1:30 AM |
I think there needs to be a new rule that a show can only nominate one actor per category.
| by Anonymous | reply 149 | September 13, 2022 1:30 AM |
R149 that’s a terrible rule
Sometimes a show has many great performances. So only one can get nominated?
| by Anonymous | reply 150 | September 13, 2022 1:31 AM |
So, an American, an Australian and a Scots, they’re spreading around the world awards.
| by Anonymous | reply 151 | September 13, 2022 1:31 AM |
I hope so R147, and fuck them for starting up the music when Matthew Macfadyen was speaking.
| by Anonymous | reply 153 | September 13, 2022 1:32 AM |
Julia Garner is fabulous, but should never have beaten like 3 other people in this category.
| by Anonymous | reply 154 | September 13, 2022 1:32 AM |
I’m sorry but Julia Garner overacts.
| by Anonymous | reply 156 | September 13, 2022 1:33 AM |
[quote]I think there needs to be a new rule that a show can only nominate one actor per category.
So you don’t want performance quality to be the deciding factor?
| by Anonymous | reply 157 | September 13, 2022 1:33 AM |
The DJ makes me want to puke.
| by Anonymous | reply 159 | September 13, 2022 1:33 AM |
Wow. Shock! Love Julia Garner but Rhea……
| by Anonymous | reply 160 | September 13, 2022 1:33 AM |
Julia won!!!! But what’s with that dress??!
| by Anonymous | reply 161 | September 13, 2022 1:34 AM |
Julie Garner won 3x now. She didn’t deserve this one. It should have been Sydney Sweeney
| by Anonymous | reply 162 | September 13, 2022 1:34 AM |
J-Smith Cameron was also robbed. Even Sydney Sweeney was robbed.
| by Anonymous | reply 163 | September 13, 2022 1:34 AM |
R157 I want the show to choose putting forth their strongest actor.
| by Anonymous | reply 164 | September 13, 2022 1:34 AM |
Julie looking a little more like young Madonna getting ready for that role.
| by Anonymous | reply 165 | September 13, 2022 1:34 AM |
Almost everyone predicted Julia would win btw. Rhea was always listed as an upset, followed by either Sydney Sweeney or Christina Ricci
| by Anonymous | reply 166 | September 13, 2022 1:35 AM |
So I guess it’s gonna be a YAWL party all night with that meatball announcer, huh?
| by Anonymous | reply 167 | September 13, 2022 1:35 AM |
Sweeney is overrated mainly because of her looks and big girls.
| by Anonymous | reply 168 | September 13, 2022 1:35 AM |
Julia should have won for the character she played in The Americans.
| by Anonymous | reply 169 | September 13, 2022 1:35 AM |
Julia also didn’t deserve the win for Ozark season 3
| by Anonymous | reply 171 | September 13, 2022 1:36 AM |
Sweeney wasn’t overrated in season 2. She’s the breakout of season 2 with good reasoning.
| by Anonymous | reply 172 | September 13, 2022 1:36 AM |
Will Olivia Newton-John be in the memorial segment?
| by Anonymous | reply 173 | September 13, 2022 1:36 AM |
What the hell is up with the presenters' oily makeup?
| by Anonymous | reply 174 | September 13, 2022 1:36 AM |
Sarah Snook was phenomenal in the last season and she deserved this award.
| by Anonymous | reply 175 | September 13, 2022 1:37 AM |
R171 that’s so true. They sure love her though.
| by Anonymous | reply 176 | September 13, 2022 1:37 AM |

Seems like you want to make sure more shows get participation trophies (in the form of nominations). Are you a Millennial?
| by Anonymous | reply 177 | September 13, 2022 1:37 AM |
R153, I loved that they cut him off. I don’t watch Succession so he was just a dull guy with nothing to say wasting everyone’s time. I also like that they’re putting the Jewish phone book at the bottom of the screen, although Julia Garner clearly didn’t get the point and just wasted her time reading everything allowed.
Is it a strict 30 seconds? I love that now.
| by Anonymous | reply 178 | September 13, 2022 1:37 AM |
Julia’s Ruth was fire this season. She deserved it. She has a lot of range.
| by Anonymous | reply 179 | September 13, 2022 1:37 AM |
Who is that DJ in the tuxedo who wants a selfy with Lizzo?
| by Anonymous | reply 180 | September 13, 2022 1:37 AM |
I want to kick the announcer DJ dude in his nuts.
| by Anonymous | reply 181 | September 13, 2022 1:39 AM |
I cannot stand Succession. I couldn't get through more than a few episodes. I'm not interested in rich people drama. Hope this series doesn't win any additional Emmys.
| by Anonymous | reply 182 | September 13, 2022 1:39 AM |
The dude as in Zedd? He’s a famous DJ
| by Anonymous | reply 184 | September 13, 2022 1:40 AM |
They’re trying so hard to keep network tv in the conversion in these montages.
| by Anonymous | reply 185 | September 13, 2022 1:40 AM |
I like Succession, but I find it overrated as fuck.
| by Anonymous | reply 186 | September 13, 2022 1:40 AM |
Amy P looks the best she’s been in years.
| by Anonymous | reply 187 | September 13, 2022 1:40 AM |
Amy is trying too hard with that dress.
| by Anonymous | reply 188 | September 13, 2022 1:41 AM |
R185 they should be. Tons of good shows that get overlooked
| by Anonymous | reply 189 | September 13, 2022 1:41 AM |
Damn Seth Meyers fell asleep in the tanning bed.

| by Anonymous | reply 193 | September 13, 2022 1:43 AM |
Strong category but I have no problem with Sheryl Lee Ralph winning.
| by Anonymous | reply 194 | September 13, 2022 1:43 AM |
So happy for Sheryl Lee Ralph. A tremendous talent who gets mostly overlooked.
R192 overdramatic woman? Sweetie she’s a legend

| by Anonymous | reply 196 | September 13, 2022 1:43 AM |
I hope this is the last time that overrated hack cunt Kate McKinnon gets nominated for an Emmy. Kate and Kenan Thompson are overrated. It's a shame that Cecily Strong is constantly overlooked.

Love her. That voice. Amazing.
| by Anonymous | reply 198 | September 13, 2022 1:44 AM |

Go home please.

Sheryl Lee Ralph is absolutely perfect on Abbott Elementary.

She's the original Deana in Dreamgirls. She was great in that.
| by Anonymous | reply 205 | September 13, 2022 1:45 AM |
Why does that announcer keep interjecting themselves into their job?
Nobody cares that she wants to get selfie with Lizzo.
| by Anonymous | reply 206 | September 13, 2022 1:45 AM |
Rooting for Quinta tonight -- she's come a long way from Buzzfeed Youtube.
| by Anonymous | reply 207 | September 13, 2022 1:45 AM |

Succession isn't hilarious in the least. It is a repetitive visit with completely repulsive people. Every character is a horrible person.
| by Anonymous | reply 221 | September 13, 2022 1:49 AM |
I’m watching on HULU, why are they bleeping things?
| by Anonymous | reply 222 | September 13, 2022 1:49 AM |

| by Anonymous | reply 228 | September 13, 2022 1:51 AM |
[quote][R153], I loved that they cut him off. I don’t watch Succession so he was just a dull guy with nothing to say wasting everyone’s time. I also like that they’re putting the Jewish phone book at the bottom of the screen, although Julia Garner clearly didn’t get the point and just wasted her time reading everything allowed.
He's awesome in Succession. And he's the most humble/least blustery out of all the cast members, so they should've let him talk a little bit. He and Julia Garner starred together in the indie film "The Assistant", and both were excellent (Macfadyen frighteningly so).

All those original Dream Girl performers have had to live in the shadow of Jennifer Holiday for decades, this was her chance to finally breakout from that shadow and claim some notoriety and she wasn’t going to let it pass without singing out.
I come from a family of educators and have worked in elementary education. She nails that particular type of Kindergarten teacher to a T, so the award was much deserved.

Since there are few network shows nominated anymore, rotate the show on the streaming outlets.
Outside of that, there’s the hard fact that with the exception of ABC’s sublime Abbott Elementary, the networks have no skin in the game this year when it comes to the major categories.
As one wise man said to me earlier today: “NBC is essentially stuck showing a three-hour promo for HBO and Netflix.” Toss in a dollop of Hulu, are and you have the primary food groups of the contemporary small screen.

This is Us was nominated for Emmys for several years. Weirdly, in the final season the show didn't receive any acting nominations and it only had a Creative Arts nomination for music and lyrics.
I don't mind cussing or nudity in shows. But, those things don't make a show better. There are some cable and streaming shows that are awful because of bad acting and bad writing.
When overrated cunt Shonda Rhimes signed her deal with Netflix, her idiot leghumping fans applauded the move saying she would have more freedom in storytelling. Bridgeton and Inventing Anna imo were just average at best shows and they weren't anything special. Netflix is only giving Rhimes freedom in adding in cussing and nudity. She still sucks at writing shows. It's funny how she never really gets called out by the critics for how shitty Grey's Anatomy turned out.

Who was the male Seinfeld actor in the In Memoriam segment, shown with the actresses who played the mothers of Jerry & George?

Takeaway: many TeeVee people aren't very attractive. What's more, they are tacky dressers at fancy events.

[quote] Who was the black guy at the bar?
R394, that was Kel Mitchell, Kenan's Good Burger co-star from back in the day.

I’m actually surprised they didn’t show QEII, if only for her groundbreaking coronation, the first to be televised live.

Jennifer Coolidge could give a crap deep down and I'm here for it. I'm a fan of hers and I truly believe she just doesn't care. It was nice that she brought her sister with her to the Emmys. Her sister is pretty.
Sheryl Lee Ralph I adore. She was one of the original Dreamgirls as we all know. She's luminous and effervescent. She earned her nomination and award for her very fine work and owned that fact in a heartfelt and diva like fashion. Her figure is outta site!
The seating and the whole gold carpet thing was weird to me. Keenan was alright. He tried to keep things rolling but he hasn't much charisma in general.
This year's Emmys really made me miss Joan Rivers commentary and opining.
Squid Game is far out. The one fellow with the glasses got the goods. He's masculine and has great bone structure. Even for the gold carpet he stood out with the translator at the ready. He was asked about the nominations and said he was a winner already! Works for me.

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell were quite talented as child and teen actors. But, as adults they are bland as fuck.

Jason Bateman continuously getting nominated for the most average performance in Ozark always annoys me. He also looks stupid with that hair

Keenan and Kel had their own show on Nickelodeon and a movie, Good Burger.

Is Sarah channelling Stranger Things Millie Bobby Brown face?
Sarah always makes a point to wear avantgarde fashion but it always wears Sarah.

Because Sarah isn’t the great beauty many claim. Nor the great talent.

Good for Sheryl Lee Ralph, she's an older woman who has a major role on an excellent sitcom. A sitcom, both critics and fans love.
Remember, youth doesn't necessarily translate to talent.
These days, there is so much garbage on TV and on streaming services. So much of what is being produced these days is extremely mediocre. I read glowing reviews, then watch the series and usually say: "What did I miss? This series sucks!"
Like Succession, this series and the characters are excruciating. These people exist in real life, I don't want to pay to watch these annoying self-absorbed entitled creeps on TV.

The camera work during the In Memoriam segment was terrible, you could barely see the people on the screens behind John Legend.
The camera people should be shunned, the producers should not hire them for next year's show
| by Anonymous | reply 568 | September 13, 2022 4:34 PM |
I find John Legend very skeevy for some reason, like he has dirty, dirty secrets he’s hiding.

Do you know who is responsible for the shots that are seen on your tv screen? The director. The camera operators ( if they are not robots) merely focus on what they are told. So, don't rehire the director .

So everyone is falling all over themselves because the actress from Dreamgirls, a Broadway musical, won an Emmy for Abbott Elementary, a TV show.
That makes sense.

I’m always on the lookout for a toupee but I think Jason Bateman‘s hair is real. Yes it’s dyed, but it’s his hair.
| by Anonymous | reply 572 | September 13, 2022 5:22 PM |
I actually think the actress who plays the principal on Abbott Elementary should have won. She’s hilarious!

Julia Garner was terrific in early seasons of Ozark.
By the end, the character had devolved (blame the writers in part) into a Yosemite Sam cartoon. She didn’t deserve this last award.
Linney deserved to win but the quality of the last half season tainted the show.

I was surprised black twitter wasn't aflame with #EmmysSoWhite when the black nominees didn't win all the awards. They're having a major hissy fit because Jimmy Kimmel was lying on the floor while their Kween was giving her speech.
I noted Cory Booker's former fiancee Rosario Dawson was unrecognizable and looked younger than Springtime. I was shocked seeing her in Dopesick looking so old. I assume she got herself refreshed.

Okay, sure, like everything else wrong in today's fucked up world, the rot starts from the head down.
But surely, as a working photographer, I certainly know what a bad shot is. The camera people zooming out must have figured the TV and streaming audience couldn't read most of the names of the deceased, especially during the wide shots. Pretty sure the camera operators wore headsets to inform the director about that.

R584 doesn’t know the difference between the Emmys and Oscars
| by Anonymous | reply 587 | September 13, 2022 6:12 PM |
R587 of course I do. At the Emmys they always give the Emmy to the same person or show they gave it to the year before (see John Oliver, etc.). Except when there's a black person among the nominees in which case they must win.
