Shouldn't kids like this be in an institution?

R1's post is flawless. W&W.
| by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 25, 2024 9:22 AM |
Sadly, they closed all of the institutions. Today, we only have Walmart.

[quote]Props To Her
Stop lauding the poor woman for having to live in these conditions because the system that should have put her son away into a proper institution failed her. I hate this fetishisation of martyrdom.
| by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 25, 2024 10:38 AM |
Punch him in his throat. That'll calm him th FUCK down.
| by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 25, 2024 11:08 AM |
Maybe not institutions, but aren’t there group homes where they can go? I can’t imagine dealing with that every day for the rest of my life. Having a normal child would be enough of a burden. Hell…I would run away and not leave a forwarding address.
| by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 25, 2024 11:15 AM |
Another W&W for R1 from me.
| by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 25, 2024 11:54 AM |
I could have helped her come up with a solution.
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 25, 2024 11:57 AM |
He looks like a teenager. My fear is he’s going to continue to grow and become stronger and then really hurt her.
| by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 25, 2024 12:03 PM |
r9 " My fear is..."
Your fear? Do you know her?
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 25, 2024 12:05 PM |
That's terrifying.
What's so scary is that he instinctively knows to go for his mom's throat & wrap his hands around it.
She's a great mom, but this may not end well.
| by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 25, 2024 12:27 PM |
What's you're problem R4? She's his mother, what else can she do? She handled it right and you can stand that. I'm afraid, though that he may really hurt her one day. I hope not.
| by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 25, 2024 12:42 PM |
Maybe her kid wouldn't be a retard if she fed it real food.
| by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 25, 2024 12:45 PM |
He needs to hit the gym before he goes to Applebee's again.
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 25, 2024 12:46 PM |
R14, you are classless and unkind.
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 25, 2024 12:56 PM |
Hi. This is Wilford Brimley. Welcome to Retardation: A Celebration. Now, hopefully with this book, I'm gonna dispel a few myths, a few rumors. First off, the retarded don't rule the night. They don't rule it. Nobody does. And they don't run in packs. And while they may not be as strong as apes, don't lock eyes with 'em, don't do it. Puts 'em on edge. They might go into berzerker mode; come at you like a whirling dervish, all fists and elbows. You might be screaming "No, no, no" and all they hear is "Who wants cake?" Let me tell you something: They all do. They all want cake.

My youngest brother has a brain deformity and when he was a teenager this exact scene played out at our house regularly with him attacking one of us all the time
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 25, 2024 12:58 PM |
Autistic or not, I would have slapped his cheeks red raw if he had grabbed me like that. There's a limit and some kids only learn those limits by extreme measures. If she doesn't do something with him now he may end up killing her one day. He needs to be in some sort of managed care. He'll never be able to live on his own and what is she going to do once she gets too old to handle him. Clearly he can't push himself away from the dinner plate, and if he keeps on getting bigger and bigger the danger she now faces will increase exponentially.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 25, 2024 1:01 PM |
r19 And how/where is he now?
| by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 25, 2024 1:29 PM |
I’ve been working in Special Ed for thirteen years. These kids are the worst. Huge, gross, ugly toddlers who can actually murder you when they have a tantrum over you turning off their iPad or something else equally minor. Even the institutions struggle because of they high turnover of employees since nobody wants to work with kids like this.
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 25, 2024 1:32 PM |
I’m glad I had an abortion!
| by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 25, 2024 1:33 PM |
Love doesn't excuse letting your "child" become obese because he'll strangle you if you don't keep the ice cream coming.
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 25, 2024 2:09 PM |
[quote]Your fear? Do you know her?
You don't have to know her personally to think it's a shame that this woman's child is going to kill her.

Ice Pick and Catholic boarding school calms their ass down.

R22 he moved to Florida after our mom died because his birth father lived there but he died right after. Now he kinda just varies between being homeless, in prison or living with whoever is dumb enough to take him in.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 25, 2024 5:03 PM |
She’s recording it? She wants the clicks.

[quote]Autistic or not, I would have slapped his cheeks red raw if he had grabbed me like that.
I doubt that, r20.
He's GIGANTIC. He makes Baby Huey like the runt of the litter.
The second you tried to hit him, he'd fly into a rage and kill you.

My cousin’s child has Prader Willi syndrome. When he was younger, they had to put a lock on the refrigerator (he had insatiable hunger). When he got older, he became violent, and would attack my cousin and her husband. He also destroyed everything in the house. My cousin had another child, and they had to put the Prader Willi kid in a care facility, because they were afraid that he would hurt the new baby. Sad for everyone involved.
| by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 25, 2024 5:42 PM |
I wonder what a lobotomy would do for someone like this kid.
| by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 25, 2024 5:53 PM |
Fank you, you chokeded me out!
| by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 25, 2024 6:32 PM |
R14 Makes a good point. Every food choice she gave him was heinous. Hot dogs, pizza, or pancakes? Ugh. Give him a salad.
| by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 25, 2024 6:33 PM |
A salad would probably get her murdered

R6 I'm from CT, my mother was a CNA in group-homes until she retired, (just before Covid, which was perfect timing as they were nailed by Covid.) The state was slowly closing all state run group-homes in favor of private sector, although there are still some resources available for patients who are unable to be discharged, or newer younger patients who cannot afford private sector, public is paid by the state which has a 5 yr wait list, IIRC. I'm not informed as she no longer works there, but as a kid, I remember being scared for her. She was small and she brought me to visit a coworker who was out on comp (another reason the state wants to rid themselves of this responsibility) and she was about the same size and in TRACTION.
A friend of mine has a daughter who is dangerous during episodes bc of her size, she lives with her father in FL. She was in a guardianship, but he was able to get it dissolved so he would no longer be responsible for her. She may be homeless in a few months as he is essentially over having her as his responsibility. (His current wife and he had used the daughter to say in court that she didn't want her mother as a guardian as she was scared of her.) Totally screwed situation and the only group-homes in FL cost big bucks and have very long waiting lists. As my mother would say, "this is why we need a home-guard", which was how she referred to the state run homes. There were also, what she called, 'Golden ticket' clients, they require a 1-1, and really shouldn't be in the same facilities, but there is nowhere else to put violent re-offending individuals with certain diagnoses.
Thank the deinstitutionalization of America.
R36 Try forcing anything on that boy, he'll easily put you into a wall. Although his diet is problematic, it's pretty low on the totem pole of concerns for that family.
| by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 25, 2024 6:46 PM |
I’m sure it’s mom’s choice to keep him with her. He’s a full time job.
| by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 25, 2024 7:18 PM |
There’s a place to put them, r38.
Forced labor camps or Sparky.
People like this are the homeless who attack people on the street, harass their families for years, and destroy everyone and everything around them because they can.
This violent piece of shit will probably end up running for public office and win when he should be euthanized.

Just imagine how many more will be out there if women can't get abortions. And they will be able to get their hands on guns, too.

[quote]Just imagine how many more will be out there if women can't get abortions.
I don't think they can diagnose stuff like this in utero, can they? Or maybe you meant that the vast increase in unwanted births will include at least some like this.
It's a terrible problem to have and I don't know what the answer is. But regular people shouldn't have to handle dangerous kids like this in their homes.

He needs a fecal gut transfer and probiotics. Help reduce the autism symptoms. Autistics usually have more bad bacteria than good. Sometimes after a fever their symptoms are reduced and behavior is better because of the bacteria being killed off by the body heat.
| by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 26, 2024 5:27 AM |
I am autistic and never attacked my mother. Though came close when she wanted to buy me a suit when I needed one for my after-school job and I HATED her choice.

These humongous, violent "kids" grow into humongous, violent adults who later attack anyone else who doesn't give them what they demand.
We need to figure out WTF to do with them after their mommies are dead because these beomoths will be society's to look after.

| by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 26, 2024 2:05 PM |
Nah, that's not fair, R56. She tried for a long time but she has other kids and had to put Harvey in a care facility. At least she can afford a good one.
She did a hundred times more than his father ever did for him, too.

[quote][R36] Try forcing anything on that boy, he'll easily put you into a wall. Although his diet is problematic, it's pretty low on the totem pole of concerns for that family.
The problem was she started giving him that crap when he was young.
Had she never fed him that kind of crap from the beginning, he wouldn't be assaulting her to get fed more crap.
