In 1984 she ran for Congress as a Democrat in a Republican-majority district in Pennsylvania. Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett) contacted her Republican opponent and recorded a radio ad saying Nancy was too liberal and not to vote for her. She would likely have lost the election anyway, but lost 34% to 66%. Was Ebsen the asshole?

I liked that one of Nancy's exes (well, the only one I know of) was Maxene Andrews. (Of the Andrews Sisters, young ones; look THEM up and enjoy their brilliance.)
