Interesting article. He's kinda been used as a symbol by a few different constituencies.

In the article he said he voted from Trump in 2016.

This is what always happens. People voted for Trump because they liked him in rallies of 2016 telling people to “beat the crap out of people” and “throw them out” like he did in those rallies that aired on TV.

Then cut to they themselves getting beaten and thrown, and suddenly they don’t like it when it happens to them.

But NOBODY in these interviews ever points that out to people which is why things continue to get worse.

R1 Yup, you're right.

I think guys like him really believed Trump was going to somehow take a third path that would be nonconformist, breaking down some of the really inflexible dumb parts of party politics in DC - some otherwise reasonably sensible people went that way in 2016.

Sadly, just about none of what they'd hoped for happened, and it all went way worse than most of us pearl-clutchers could have even imagined.

At some point one should recognize one’s judgement at least in certain subjects is bad. I seek advice on calculus and haircuts. I ask a teenager about my new phone. If you voted for trump you really should seek advice on voting options. Their is no shame in self awareness. To keep making the same mistake over is simply an ego issue.
