Writer Robert Guerrero

I saw two men with these hairstyles the last time I went to a supermarket

oy!

They looked like they just stepped out of a Akira Kurosawa film

"They looked like they just stepped out of a Akira Kurosawa film"

ummm, i thought more like out of the doublewide meth lab up in the holler

It's the more manly version of the man bun.

by Anonymousreply 2May 16, 2017 4:32 PM

This is their real inspiration.

Handsome young men can style their hair however they want.

by Anonymousreply 4May 16, 2017 4:38 PM

Not if it makes them look ridiculous, R4.

If you're not Toshiro Mifune, sorry bitch but you cannot rock this hairstyle.

I'd happily fuck any man in those pics. Yes, they can rock that hairstyle.

by Anonymousreply 6May 16, 2017 4:48 PM

Let's be honest here, it's just desperate attention-seeking and quite unappealing to the eye.

by Anonymousreply 7May 16, 2017 4:56 PM

I have ZERO problem with "the crazy hairstyles" of young people. Are you listening to yourself R7? Do you realise you have become that person? Or were you a tight-assed badly-fucked bitch as a young man, with very narrow tastes, back then too?

by Anonymousreply 8May 16, 2017 5:01 PM

It's just one more thing hat they'll be embarrassed about in ten years.

by Anonymousreply 9May 16, 2017 5:04 PM

I love long hair on guys, but what's the point of long hair if it's constantly up in a bun or topknot? Let it be free!!

by Anonymousreply 10May 16, 2017 5:06 PM

Better than a mullet or a combover.

by Anonymousreply 11May 16, 2017 5:23 PM

but not as sexy as a skullet

by Anonymousreply 12May 16, 2017 5:26 PM

It's the Patrick of Bravo's Fire Island

by Anonymousreply 13May 16, 2017 5:31 PM

Hmm... what could I do with this hair that I'm too lazy to cut so that everyone can know how stylish and "indie" I am? Nothing says "bRomeo" like the bearded ballerina look.

by Anonymousreply 14May 16, 2017 5:43 PM

it gives something to grip and push for extra deepness when they give each other brojobs.

by Anonymousreply 15May 16, 2017 7:04 PM

I see it at the gym all the time. Makes sense to me.

by Anonymousreply 16May 16, 2017 7:15 PM

Nothing to do with "indie", R14.

I have longish hair that I am not willing to cut (it makes me more appealing, it really does—I've had periods where I cut it and people were disappointed and told me to grow it back), and now that we're a day away from a heatwave in NYC, I might tie it up or back.

And the tie-up won't be for fashion, and it won't be to prove anything to anyone, least of all some gay cunts on the Internet. It's goddamn hot and I am sweating balls and I don't give a FUCK! And I'm not cutting it either!

The Japanese wakashu (beautiful youth) are a case in point. The term describes the time a male reaches puberty and his head is partly shaved, with a triangle-shaped cut above the forelocks that is a telltale way to identify wakashu. During this stage of life only, before full-fledged adulthood, it was socially permissible to have sex with either men or women.

Young white guys in ashrams have always done this. John Lennon had a man bun for a while. I like them.

by Anonymousreply 20May 16, 2017 10:39 PM

the last grasp of masculinity

I always think of this skit when I see a ponytail.

I don't criticize the young and their fads, I spent most of my youth looking stupid. What is life without regret?

by Anonymousreply 26March 19, 2021 6:44 AM

Seeing a man sporting a manbun is an instant hard-off.
