Maze Runner 3 (Death Cure)
Andrew Hansen
It's finally here!
Yes, I'm fangurl-ing out, but I don't care.
I've been a Dylan O'Brien fan since season one of Teen Wolf, and I'm happy for his success.
This one should be a blockbuster!

What happened to all the Dylan fans who used to post here?

r1 He started looking like a junkie, surfed on his face, and then switched to American propaganda movies. Still TMR marketing department know how to sell a movie to me.

$300 million for each of the first two movies doesn't really make it a blockbuster, does it?
This one will be lucky to reach that number given the elapsed time since the last one and lack of any real marketing.
It seems more like they're trying just to recoup production costs which almost doubled between the first and second parts from $34mm to $61mm. With all the turmoil behind the third part, it must have cost at least $80-90 mm to finish, even if they scaled back after the accident.

I remember when a Dylan O'Brien thread used to reach 600 replies on this board.
Wow.

I'm so surprised that the movie got bad reviews.
It was awesome! I just watched in on DVD and really enjoyed it.
Dylan did look quite different from the first two movies, though. He must have been hurt really bad from the accident.

Saw the first two in the theater.

That's very unusual for a popular sci-fi trilogy to decrease in popularity by the third installment.
In my opinion, the movies got better and better.

Okay, I finally saw "The Death Cure", the final move of the trilogy.
And I have this to say about the whole thing: NONE OF IT MAKES ANY GODDAMNED SENSE.
Seriously, what the fuck.
| by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 18, 2018 3:28 AM |
Seriously, was I the only one that thought that maybe Thomas was on the wrong side through half the second movie and most of the third?
Seriously, blowing up an entire functioning city and killing thousands... for what? And they find the cure but … then never use it? WTF?
HOW IS THIS A MOVIE? None of it made even the slightest damn bit of sense.

Sorry, but the whole series makes no sense. I watched the first one because of being a Teen Wolf fan, but I didn't even bother downloading the second or the final one on torrent sites.

Bizarrely, if these movies make no sense that makes me more curious about watching them.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 19, 2018 4:25 PM |
I've only seen the first movie. Hopefully the books make more sense.

I saw American Assassin. Terrible. What was he thinking signing up for that. And Michael Keaton. It looks like the Oscar nom has not helped him.

[Quote] I saw American Assassin. Terrible. What was he thinking signing up for that.
I was surprised he decided to do another franchise after Maze Runner. And aside from the youtube series, his other projects seem to be indies.

Could they justify a sequel, given it barely broke even.
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 19, 2018 5:47 PM |
Can anyone explain any of The Maze Runner to me?
Did anyone but me watch all three movies?
| by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 20, 2018 12:00 AM |
Can someone link to the hilarious old thread about the fifty years it took him to recover?
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 20, 2018 12:03 AM |
I watched the first with my nephew. He read the books, and was not impressed with the first film. He didn't bother to watch any of the sequels. I cannot remember much about it.

The first movie was okay, and mildly interesting up until the reveal at the end... where it went completely off the rails and stopped making any sense at all. The following two movies were just a continuation of that whole insane 'not making any sense' part.
Also, he was a 'maze runner' for like two days.... just a small part of the first movie.
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 20, 2018 4:19 PM |
R25 that thread was a mess.
| by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 20, 2018 6:26 PM |
I actually loved the first movie the most, out of all three in the series.
It was new and fresh. The other two installments were confusing.
In any case, I hate the Teresa character. Why would Thomas fall for such a traitorous bitch?
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 22, 2018 4:56 AM |
Dylan was hot as hell in the Death Cure,, and in American Assassin too. The accident didn’t do him any harm in that department.
| by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 22, 2018 5:01 AM |
So let me get this straight... in the movie "The Death Cure" … they find that for some reason, Thomas suddenly becomes the absolute cure they've been looking for... and then they just kill everyone and never use it to save anyone, and … how is Thomas the hero by not saving humanity?
