Matt Houston

Writer Robert Guerrero

Did anyone watch this show? This guy is HOT. The intro starts with a shot of his package. I can hear the producers “Nice basket, but can he act?”

Yes r1 and I loved every minute of it.

No, I never watched it but I as a gayling I was very aware of Lee "Horse"ley. He was also the "hot thang" on the equally short-lived Nero Wolfe. To me, Horsley was WAY hotter than Tom Selleck, upon whose hit show this was clearly based.

It was the Magnum PI Rip off created by Aaron Spelling for ABC. Lee went on to be the mini seriies king.

[quote] Magnum in a suit.

And better yet, frequently out of it.

I remember the show and I definitely remember being hot for Lee Horsley.

But watching this now I don't remember ANY other of those people.

The cold light of day... Lee Horsley today. Not bad, but aging is a bitch.

Pamela Hemsley...

She was related to Sherman, right?

John Aprea was on that - he got hotter with age Wonder if Lee ever got to sample that italian sausage?

I didn't watch the first season...everyone after the first chick was let go as I never saw them. The later seasons included that chick, a black cop and Jed Clampett.

The stories were so by the numbers, and the action could be pretty relentless, but yes I watched when it originally aired. It also had more than a whiff of Charlie's Angels about it, being a Spelling production. There are three seasons, though the third season is shorter.

My memory of Matt Houston is Lee Horsley was rarely seen shirtless and when he was it was disappointing.

by Anonymousreply 15July 26, 2021 2:40 AM

Besides Magnum, it also has a touch of Remington Steel.

I think he looked pretty good R15.

My mom discovered Lee Horsley and Guns of Paradise about a year ago. She is obsessed with him, and relentless in her daily pursuit of information about him on the internet. I watched Matt Houston when I was a kid, but it doesn't resonate with me now.
