Matt Collins, the first male Supermodel?
John Thompson
In the '70s, he was all over the place and even got on the Merv Griffin theme shows. Articles in People magazine and NY Times proclaimed him the top male model of his day. He was on the cover of a male grooming book called "Looking Good". and even played Valentino in a movie. Anyone remember him?

I remember the book, it had lots of sexy male pics inside. It was intended as a guide for male grooming, but I think it had a second use.

He was alive as of 2010, when Vogue Hommes rounded up a bunch of '70s/'80s models.
Not sure which one he is, though.

"Long pestered by women who find him gorgeous, Collins professes to think of himself as 'too thin, with a long neck and a big nose.'"
"Collins, who has never married and does not date anyone seriously, lives alone in a tiny Beverly Hills cottage that he’s doing over in 'bunkhouse chic'—leather furniture, horse blankets and smartly framed pictures of equine chums... 'I love a dumpy house,' Matt explains, 'and I think living alone is a must for everyone. All I have is live-in dust.'"

There is a photo of a guy jumping up out of a pool, with his jock strap showing, in Looking Good, that created a fetish that still survives!
That book was a big break for the photographer Bruce too

1980s models were the last time that classically handsome was still chic.
Too bad. I could look at ads with Michael Flinn without ever getting tired of him.
