She's the anti-trans troll.

by Anonymousreply 1November 22, 2022 7:45 PM

Have you seen the version where it's the exact same commercial but instead it's an actual Muppet that looks just like her which it's amazing you can even tell because she already like you know look like a muppet and yet then they were like let's get a real different kind of Muppet.

by Anonymousreply 2November 22, 2022 7:58 PM

I despise her as much as I've come to hate Joe Namath.

by Anonymousreply 3November 22, 2022 8:02 PM

Remember that guy who used to yell tax secrets in commercials? Or Miss Cleo? Or the 10-10-321 guy?

And for the Elders, there was the Herbal Essences ad, the Samsonite gorilla ad, the Budweiser Clydesdales, and "Where's the Beef?"

TV commercials used to be memorable.

by Anonymousreply 4November 22, 2022 8:19 PM

I still haven't figured out how to angle a few bucks out of Camp LeJeune, the Boy Scounts, Roundup or torn Hernia Mesh. I feel like a failure.

by Anonymousreply 5November 22, 2022 8:23 PM

Martha is the epitome of cringe

by Anonymousreply 6November 22, 2022 8:24 PM

Did Carol Channing leave Martha a pair of her huge eyeglasses in her will?

by Anonymousreply 7November 22, 2022 8:26 PM

Can we find out who the bitch is and expose her for being a fraud and utterly annoying??

by Anonymousreply 8November 24, 2022 10:32 PM

Martha is played by RUTH TAYLOR.

by Anonymousreply 9November 24, 2022 10:47 PM

HATE. I wonder why they thought Martha was a good idea.

by Anonymousreply 10November 25, 2022 12:28 AM

She needs to be blacklisted

by Anonymousreply 11November 25, 2022 1:00 AM

Martha needs to be kicked in her geriatric cunt bone by this bitch!

I hate this chicken-faced old twat! Die Martha, DIE!

by Anonymousreply 14November 25, 2022 1:25 AM

She's not from Medicare. She's from Medicare Advantage Plan, which is neither Medicare or an advantage.

Medicare should not even allow them to call their plans Medicare. They are run by private, for-profit insurance companies.

by Anonymousreply 15November 25, 2022 1:29 AM

I don't mind Martha. I hate the woman who looks like Amy Poeller who yells at her husband about getting all the Medicare benefits available.

by Anonymousreply 16November 25, 2022 1:32 AM

Right, R16?

Because in the time it took for her to persuade her dolt husband they needed Part C, she could've called on her own, gotten signed up, and received her new cards in the mail.

And I still love Joe Namath. And grumpy William Devane.

by Anonymousreply 17November 25, 2022 1:39 AM

^^R17 you’re in the minority with that.

Annoying shills who get muted on sight

by Anonymousreply 18November 25, 2022 1:42 AM

[quote]HATE. I wonder why they thought Martha was a good idea.

They were wrong. It's a bad idea to present a caricature of an annoying, stubborn, clueless old fart in a commercial that's aimed directly at senior citizens.

by Anonymousreply 19November 25, 2022 2:10 AM

They thought Martha was a good idea because they know the type of people who are dumb enough to fall for these Advantage plans. The newest commercial is the two black women calling in wanting to know every benefit they can get for free. That commercial is obviously geared to the black community. People who fall for that scam are the same types of people who fell for Donald Trump.

by Anonymousreply 20November 25, 2022 2:15 AM

[quote]She's not from Medicare. She's from Medicare Advantage Plan, which is neither Medicare or an advantage.

There is no one Medicare Advantage Plan. Most major insurers offer Medicare Advantage Plans, which is an umbrella term for "Medigap" plans, which cover costs, such as prescription drugs, that aren't covered by standard Medicare alone. .I think Medicare Advantage Plans have to be approved by Medicare to be called that. Relying only on Medicate is definitely not an advantage.

by Anonymousreply 21November 25, 2022 2:16 AM

^^ Medicare, not Medicate. ^^

by Anonymousreply 22November 25, 2022 2:17 AM

Many, if not most, people on Advantage plans don't even realize that their plan has nothing to do with Medicare whatsoever. They never stop to wonder if their plan is giving them all this extra stuff for no additional premium it all has to be paid for somehow. NOTHING IS FREE! These plans pay for all that extra stuff by cutting the amounts they'll pay on various procedures, and what procedures they won't cover at all. Procedures that real Medicare will pay for.

by Anonymousreply 23November 25, 2022 2:18 AM

[quote] Relying only on Medicate is definitely not an advantage.

And you think relying on one of these scam advantage plans is an advantage? Because it's not. All will go fine until someone has some very expensive health issues and find out their so-called advantage plan won't pay 80% like real Medicare would, or their AP won't cover some cost at all. If they're relatively healthy and not taking a lot of prescription drugs they won't have too many problems, But as the older they get the more they find out what a mistake they made by going with a MAP.

by Anonymousreply 24November 25, 2022 2:22 AM

No one claims Medicare Advamtage Plans are free. When you sign up for Medicare at the Medicate website, you can compare the costs and benefit of different Medicare Advantages plans. At the very least, you need to sign up for Part D, a prescription drug plan, and those are also run by private insurers, not by Medicare. Medicare runs only Parts A and C.

by Anonymousreply 25November 25, 2022 2:22 AM

Medicare runs parts A & B. Part C is Advantage Plan which Medicare has nothing to do with.

by Anonymousreply 26November 25, 2022 2:24 AM

Why do these advertisers think old people are stupid.

by Anonymousreply 27November 25, 2022 3:19 AM

I haven't loathed any TV spokes -character so furiously since rhe "I think I'm a good looking guy...." Classic Tee jackass. Although honestly I put up with 3 hours of him to avoid one second of the slobbering, bellowing, terrifyingly unhinged Mike Lindell.

by Anonymousreply 28November 25, 2022 3:31 AM

Martha is one in a long line of cisgender spokespeople to clutter the airwaves and court cisgender consumers.

by Anonymousreply 29November 25, 2022 4:49 AM

Why do these advertisers think old people are stupid.

Because to an uncomfortably large degree the advertisers know they're gullible & always looking for something more than they have for no more money. Many old people believe what they hear if it sounds like what they want to hear. And far too many of them don't have the skills to use the internet to find out if something is legit or a scam.

With Advantage Plans I blame Medicare. The fact that they've (at least up till now) approved these plans is basically AP's biggest pro advertisement. But, I hear this may change sooner than later. There's scuttlebutt that there may be some big changes to the relationship (what little there is) between traditional Medicare and these AP's.

by Anonymousreply 30November 25, 2022 10:58 AM

[quote] Why do these advertisers think old people are stupid.

Because they all voted for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 31November 25, 2022 11:37 AM

I don’t mind her. The actress is probably thrilled to score a national ad that plays often. She can now afford to fix her Subaru and host a nut loaf bake-off.

by Anonymousreply 32November 25, 2022 12:01 PM

[quote] But, I hear this may change sooner than later. There's scuttlebutt that there may be some big changes to the relationship (what little there is) between traditional Medicare and these AP's.

That would be a welcome change, but because Medicate is a government program, I expect the change would take a very long time.

by Anonymousreply 34November 25, 2022 9:17 PM

R2 I saw the puppet version after seeing the live actor one several times. My initial thought was, "I guess they re-shot it with a puppet because the 'stupid old lady' version was just too condescending and insulting to their prospective customers." Maybe they just wanted to see which worked better.

The best part is that someone got paid for writing and producing that spot not once, but two times.

Nice work if you can get it.

by Anonymousreply 35November 25, 2022 9:31 PM

They are trying to recreate the "where's the beef" lady.

But this Martha lady is not cute nor funny. Big fail.

by Anonymousreply 36November 26, 2022 8:30 PM

Jesus H Christ! This cranky cunt. Kill it with fire, now!

If there was ever a voice and face meant for death by pillow smothering, it’s hers.

by Anonymousreply 37November 26, 2022 8:52 PM

YES!! R16. THAT screeching harpy. The acting is fucking ATROCIOUS!

by Anonymousreply 38November 26, 2022 8:57 PM

Do mean mean this loon, R16? Absolutely insufferable delivery.

Hey, bitches! I have a hernia mesh, and I'm just waiting for the chance to score my share of those millions. I may even put that 800 number of speed dial.

by Anonymousreply 40November 27, 2022 2:05 AM

I'm on it. Don and I hate government programs like Medicare.

[quote]NOTHING IS FREE!

UP YOURS! THE CALL IS FREE!

by Anonymousreply 42November 27, 2022 2:26 AM

Considering who their audience is the fact that Martha is a screeching harpy who needs to be slapped repeatedly about the head and shoulders means little. Anyone who would buy one of those scam plans because of that commercial is clearly so dumb they deserve what they end up with.

by Anonymousreply 44November 27, 2022 3:07 AM

Martha was one of the ElderLez at the Lesbian Thanksgiving the other day. All she did was talk about Medicare Advantage Plans. She bored us to tears. When she finally stepped out on the back deck for a cigarette, our hosts locked the sliding door so she couldn't get back in. Everyone ignored her knocking on the glass doors.

by Anonymousreply 45November 27, 2022 3:23 AM

Why does is seem like her voice is dubbed? It’s so weird.

Also, did William Devane replace Jimmy Walker?

by Anonymousreply 48November 27, 2022 4:29 AM

Don't mind R33, she's still upset because somebody dropped a house on her sister.

by Anonymousreply 49November 27, 2022 4:33 AM

[quote] Why does is seem like her voice is dubbed? It’s so weird.

r48 I noticed that too. It's common. They dub a woman with a stronger speaking voice (probably younger) because Martha looks the part but squeaks like a rat.

by Anonymousreply 50November 27, 2022 4:35 AM

[quote]R9: Martha is played by RUTH TAYLOR.

Nope. She's Sherry Hoffman, and she specializes in these kinds of roles. She's perfect.

I don’t watch daytime cable TV. I work for a living, and ai haven’t had cable since 2014. What the hell is a commercial?

by Anonymousreply 53November 27, 2022 6:08 AM

Dear God, please let me die before 40. Please.

by Anonymousreply 55November 27, 2022 7:12 AM

The first time I saw this commercial I thought "What the hell?!? I thought Elaine Stritch was dead!"

by Anonymousreply 56November 27, 2022 7:34 AM

She wipes back to front and smells like rotten eggs, feet, bo, dirty diapers, decaying cunt and feces from her filled up diaper.

by Anonymousreply 57November 27, 2022 8:21 AM

[quoteI don’t watch daytime cable TV. I work for a living, and ai haven’t had cable since 2014. What the hell is a commercial?

*sighs*There is an R53 on literally every DL thread about commercials. With the almost word-for-word complaint.

Know what the solution is, R53? It's quite a simple one, really.

by Anonymousreply 58November 27, 2022 1:04 PM

I mute all commercials, I had noticed her ugly mug from time to time on my TV. I finally listened to it the other day and it is even more idiotic than I expected. This isn't exactly the golden age of television.

by Anonymousreply 59November 27, 2022 1:45 PM

R53 not watching tv is no longer a badge of honor. Sorry fool.

by Anonymousreply 60November 27, 2022 4:40 PM

Yeah, Martha is annoying as hell. But she's actually an A-Lister because as much as you hate her, you remember her and the commercial. They've accomplished everything they wanted. The woman is good, just admit it.

by Anonymousreply 61November 27, 2022 6:08 PM

Does Martha’s pussy stink? Well does it???

by Anonymousreply 62November 27, 2022 9:54 PM

It smells of sawdust and tuberose, r62.

by Anonymousreply 63November 27, 2022 10:01 PM

"Who's Afraid of Martha From Medicare?"

I am, George. I am.

by Anonymousreply 64November 27, 2022 10:40 PM

If you want to know what scams these Advantage Plans are, this guy tells all. One big thing he reveals is that all these advertisements that claim you "may" be eligible for a no additional premium AV, no co-pays, and all sorts of other freebees don't tell people that to qualify for all those freebees you have to be eligible for a low income government subsidy (mainly Medicaid) and only 15% of all Medicare recipients are currently eligible for Medicaid.

by Anonymousreply 65November 28, 2022 12:14 AM

Anyone with half a brain can tell that these are scams. We’re on to you, Martha!

by Anonymousreply 66November 28, 2022 12:37 AM

[quote] not watching tv is no longer a badge of honor. Sorry fool.

r60 Uh, I don't know about a badge of honor. But some of us know better than to waste our time with commercial tv blather.

by Anonymousreply 67November 28, 2022 1:58 AM

[R65] Thanks for this - that seemed very informative. I say 'seemed' because when his Ginger son came on around the 4 minute mark, I got a boner and had a tough time trying to pay attention to the rest of the video.

by Anonymousreply 68November 28, 2022 4:28 AM

Oh r67 you’re so limited STFU.

by Anonymousreply 70November 28, 2022 8:30 PM

I qualified for the class action victory windfall afforded to prepubescent boys who grew breasts from being prescribed Effexor. I called the 1-800 number and the operator just laughed at me! The quality of men I attract have loved my moobs, but that's not the "point". Those airing these ads must be compensated in some manner, perhaps they are paid for providing some sort of public service they don't provide, because their efforts on my behalf were humiliation.
