Any other eldergays remember this grifting hairdresser queen who married Martha Raye when she'd gone senile (he always insisted she proposed to him) and then shut out her family and friends while he tried to promote himself into a career?
He was flaming and shameless (he insisted they had a sex life) and often appeared on Howard Stern to flog his terrible recordings. But it paid off; Martha's daughter was left $1 in the will and most of the rest went to Miss Harris. Sort of the George Santos of his time.

I think it was Mark, not Martha, who tried to sue Bette Midler and the studio for the movie "For the Boys," saying it obviously was based on Martha's life. He always had his eye on the money, sweet thing.

Mark Harris was one of the most talented singers ever. He also had a lot of pain and struggle throughout his life. Despite that, he had a good heart, which is hard to encounter in Hollywood. At a time when gay people were oppressed beyond belief, they identified with his struggles and he theirs.

On one of Harrisā Stern Show appearances, a caller from the neighborhood where Harris lived when married phoned in to reveal how Harris used to proposition the hotter husbands for sex.
On another visit, a nephew of Martha Raye called in and accused Harris of fleecing her.
