It’s simple, really: Gender identity has nothing to do nor in common with sexuality. Gay and lesbian people are fine with their gender, and they are attracted to the same sex. Can’t say the same for trannies, can you?

If it’s just a matter of “yes but they are suppressed, too!!” then we may as well lump in every minority and call it LGBTQBLM++ ad infinitum.

It’s about not diluting the cause you’re fighting for: Gays and lesbians simply want to be free to be with their same-sex partner. Transgenders want to be seen and accepted as a different gender. Big difference.

Again, if it were all reduced to “the right to be who you are” type of creed, we may just as well call it a day and pack up.

I believe the main driving force on DL are only straight haters and trolls trying to establish a narrative that actual gays share their beliefs.

However, it is my belief, based on personal experience, that in real life no gay or member of the LGBTQ+ Community has fallen for the very same lies used against them in the past.

But the trans community isn't pushing differences aside to rally with gays and lesbians against the GOP.

If there was a pie graph of the groups the Trans community directs the most acrimony towards it's the groups they feel are on their side but NOT ENOUGH. That would be Cis gays and lesbians and other progressive media figures and politicians. I rarely hear them railing against the GOP or talking about actually voting.

Ever since I was young, I never got why it was LGBT. When I asked why, I would get lectured and scolded by some online for trying to divide us. My argument was being gay or bisexual has nothing to do with being transsexual. Even as a teen boy, I knew the difference. I had empathy for people born in the wrong bodies who were rejected by their families and simply wanted to live their lives as they identified.

But I never felt anything other than some kinship but never really a community feeling. I can't relate to rejecting my biological body to the point of wanting to commit suicide. As a young gay boy I did like to put barrettes in my hair, glitter makeup on and play with Barbies and call myself a girl. But I never wanted to actually be one. And it was a phase for me like it is for a lot of small kids, gay or straight.

The modern trans movement lost me by moving away from wanting equal rights and recognition of trans identity. To attacking everyone who doesn't agree that trans men and women are actually the biological sex they claim. They request we state our pronouns in introduction and they will become irritated if someone mistakenly calls someone the wrong pronoun. They expect us to buy into the nonbinary thing despite it being illogical. There's the issue of trans women who hadn't have bottom surgery wanting to be in women's locker rooms, bathrooms and spas despite it making some women uncomfortable. Then trans women in women's sports especially ones who aren't fully feminized.

What is really irritating me is the whole idea it's transphobic to not want to sleep with or date a trans person. It's completely opposite of sex positivity right here. Nobody is obligated to date or have sex with anyone they do not want. And the reality is people are attracted to sex. It's in our DNA. There are people who are attracted to trans but many people aren't because of their sexual orientation.

When it was about equality and respect for trans identity. I was supportive and still am but the denial of reality and overall narcissism is what I'm against. I hope the radical hateful TRAs get purged and the movement can be refocused.
