Lantern jaws on men
William Jenkins
Anyone else find them hot as hell?
This actor had a small role on Santa Clarita Diet but I thought his jawline was so hot I had to look him up

Go right to the source, and ask the horse.

r26 "Lantern jaw" or "long chin"?
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 9, 2018 3:37 PM |
I don't see how their jaws are any different from most
| by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 9, 2018 7:42 PM |
A lantern jaw is a long thin jaw. It’s generally not that attractive. Many of you have posted broad, square jaws.
Offsite Link| by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 9, 2018 7:53 PM |
I thought lanternness had to include a pronounced jaw, not just a long, thin head. Like this actual lantern, which tapers outward until it is more pronounced at the bottom (not the base).

Most of these look like latrine jaws.
| by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 28, 2018 11:47 AM |
Bunch of Helen Kellers up in this bitch. A Lantern Jaw is a big long jaw that is wider than the upper part of the face. Do you know what part of the face the 'jaw' is?

[quote]A Lantern Jaw is a big long jaw that is [bold]wider than the upper part of the face[/bold].
That's what I thought.

Some of you are mistaking square jawed for lantern jawed.

square- or lantern-jawed?

Brad Pitt and Sheryl Crow are the best examples of lantern jaws. However lantern jaws are all VERY much a historically Madison Avenue/Disney Prince creation, and as such are way too indicative of waspy culture. Therefore this thread perpetuates that, and like what you have been conditioned to like, but at least be aware of the inherent racism.

Oh, fuck off.
| by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 29, 2018 1:23 PM |
It's common among Portuguese and white Brazilian men. Shawn Mendes, who's half Portuguese, has it.

Nah, North Europeans have weak jaws. Their cartoons may have those jaws, but in real life they do not. It's more an Iberian quality.
| by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 29, 2018 1:32 PM |
R56 Neither. It’s almost pointy.
| by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 29, 2018 2:32 PM |
I don't see the lantern, r59.

[bold]Definition of 'lantern jaw'[/bold]
[quote]1. a projecting lower jaw
[quote]2. [pl.] long, thin jaws, with sunken cheeks, that give the face a lean, gaunt appearance

One of those cases in which a picture is worth a couple of thousand words.
| by Anonymous | reply 62 | September 29, 2018 3:05 PM |
Looking at the Stenmark twins in r63, I realize that what I have always thought of as "lantern jawed" is a certain pronouncedness of the joint that connects the upper and lower jaws. I see that in the pic, but I also see a long jawbone running at a 45 degree angle, give or take, from that joint down to the chin (as opposed to the closer-to-90-degree-angle created by what I now think of as "square-jawed."
So now I maybe have "lantern-jawed" correct?
| by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 30, 2018 10:49 AM |
R64 By George, you've got it! Thank you for the best description yet. Double your pleasure with those twins @ R63! Do lantern-jawed blokes give as good head? I have always found them sexy as hell, but have never been with one.

R69 Lantern? Mfin' lighthouse more like
| by Anonymous | reply 80 | October 6, 2018 12:50 AM |
Some of these jaws posted though they may be prominent, square, or large are not lanterns. Even after R64's correct assessment, many still don't quite get it. R74, R68, R67, are all lantern jaws. See the difference? In profile it is the angle sloping down as well, for those not good with imagining a 45* angle.

How about this guy? Thomas Ravenel from "Southern Charm." Seems too mean, though.
