I want to say no because people knew the Glee set was a shitshow from the very beginning. Lea already had the asshole reputation from Broadway, the Cory addiction problems became known pretty quickly, competitiveness between the cast started happening immediately, and so on. HS cast seems to have lucked out so far in that everyone is fairly grounded and supportive of each other and they didn’t come into the show with major baggage.

Kind of think the Maia thing is irrelevant when Joe’s been dating Bash for most of the time they’ve known each other. I would chalk it up mostly to what Kit and Joe have both said, that they’ve gotten closer as time has gone on. Even before the pet name, Kit’s been supportive of Joe more than of any of the other cast members on social media so he’s clearly fond of him. The story he posted today for Joe’s birthday is probably the wordiest story he’s ever posted, too.

I doubt he does it with the guys with whom he vacationed in LA. But he's from a well-off background. His upbringing was no doubt full of Mummy, Daddy, Darling etc.

R156 agreed and unrelated to the darling, but related to their closeness and Kit’s overall attitude to Joe - pre show I’m pretty sure they had comparable follower numbers. It’s only after the show came out that Kit blew up like crazy; has 1.2 million followers more than Joe, most of the fan attention, more media features etc. i noticed that in the interviews and things they did before the show came out and in the first few days of the show, Kit wasn’t necessarily overly complimentary of Joe (not rude or dismissive, just wasn’t actively hyping him up). But in basically every interview he’s done after the discrepancy in attention became clear, he’s positively singled out Joe. He talked about how brilliant he was in some shared scene in a magazine, said at the con that Joe made him cry in the drum scene, and mentioned people making negative comments about his appearance in a podcast interview.
They’ve definitely gotten closer as a result of being the two leads with the most rabid attention, but I also think you’re right that he’s particularly supportive re Joe, partially because I think they genuinely get on and are mates and partially because he seems like a nice guy and may notice / feel bad about the difference in popularity.

r159 Agree with your observations. I would bet money that if Kit wins the NTA he’s going to make a point to thank Joe and single him out there, too.
I think it also says a lot both about Joe as a person and about their dynamic in general that Joe doesn’t seem to be resentful at all and celebrates Kit instead. The bit about Joe updating Kit on his IMDb ranking stuck with me in particular.

R162 joe really hypes the shit out of the cast overall. Reposts peoples magazine features to his story (will, kit, and Yaz in recent memory); shares casting news (Yaz and bash); posts about every award Yaz receives; RT Kit’s quitting Twitter post.
R163 it always makes me laugh that the comments bash leaves to Kit are clearly things he does with joe. Saying he’ll use kit as his icon; commented on his old paris post saying they “forgot to leave a love lock on the bridge” when you can see Connor third wheeled him and Joe there.
