I have a region free dvd player and have all years of the series plus the tv movie and theatrical film. Love them all.
Best-timed bit I've ever seen is when Kath and Kim are discussing Kath's upcoming wedding. Kim suggests they elope. Kath says "Oh Kim, we can't elope!" while pulling a melon out of the refrigerator.

Oh, I disagree. Well, I mean, I do think the first two seasons were the best too, but I think 3 and 4 and the TV movie were still really good. The one thing about season 4 is that that was when it moved to commercial TV rather than the ABC and it did feel a bit different, but still enjoyable. I liked the episode where Matt Lucas turns up as Sharon's long lost sister - a model for fat magazines.
The movie was weird though. Like on an individual joke to joke level it still had some very funny material, but the whole storyline just wasn't very Kath and Kim. They really shouldn't be taken out of the suburbs.

I watched the whole series recently and had forgotten how funny it was and totally free of political leanings. I suspect it will be a hot, woke mess, the way most reboots are now.
There was also a call out in Sydney recently for extras to be in a gay club scene. I've seen Magda around few times and she is really overweight now and walks with a cane.

The baby cheeses episode was a catalyst for all sorts of Cheeses -Jesus memes. Still cracks me up to this day. Cheese's Crust, the Cheeses of Nazareth, and so on. I plan on catching the remake, but do not have high expectations, though even the last season still had me laughing my arse off. Sometimes it's best to leave a classic alone. We shall see.

I always enjoyed the (very) few scenes that had all four of the women in it. Marg Downey was originally "Nanna Day" in the sketch show version of Kath and Kim and was "Marion" here. I can't remember why it was she didn't have a bigger part in Kath and Kim - I think it had to do with her having other acting commitments around that time (she may have been doing more "straight" work, rather than comedy).
I know Magda is a lesbian, I've often wondered if Marg was too. She looks very similar to one of my best friend's girlfriend.
