Joey Heatherton
William Jenkins
I remember when I was a kid seeing her on all the 60's variety shows like Dean Martin, Bob Hope and Laugh In. Then in the 70's she became the commercial queen with those Nabisco products. Finally she made her big "comeback" stepping into the Hogan Family tv show. After that she fell off the face of the earth. I wonder why? Did she retire? Is she still alive?

I think you are somehow getting her mixed up with DL-fave Sandy Duncan, who was famous for her Wheat Thin commercials and the Hogans TV show.
Heatherton's career never amounted to much, save for a few bad movies, scattered TV variety show appearances, and her slutty mattress commercials.
Duncan and Heatherton are nothing alike.

She’s still alive — 74 years old.
She was sexy, and my biggest memory of her is her marriage to Dallas Cowboy tight end Lance Rentzel for a few years around 1970. I thought he was so hot. Things fell apart for him when he was charged with exposing himself to a 10 year old girl. Rentzel is still alive, too, btw.

She was one of the best high kickers in the business.

From what I've read, she's become a reclusive and ill-tempered ol' lady. She had ash-blond hair, cut short.

Not Nabisco,...Serta.
My favorite part of her Wikipedia page: "On August 30, 1986, Heatherton was arrested for assault in Hillcrest, Rockland County, New York, after she stabbed Jerry Fisher, her former boyfriend and ex-manager, in the hand with a steak knife during an argument." If I remember correctly, he called her a has-been and she grabbed the knife.

She was very popular in the 1960s. LOTS of TV appearences. As a kid I loved her summer show with Frank Sinatra. Jr.

She actually has one of the great untold stories. Very sordid. Like Vanity, Joey was used up in just about every way you can be. Then she turned on herself.

She didnt age particularly well and I seem to recall in her older age an extreme battle with anorexia.

Her descent into mental illness parallels Margot Kidder.
I wonder how she is doing. She is a survivor.

Does she have a glass eye?

I loved her as a gayling. I hope she is doing well now. I know she’s been through a rough time.

When they say no smoking on the airplane, they really mean no smoking on the airplane. Not even if you're Joey Heatherton.

She was really ground up by what remained of the studio system.
And she is still alive.

Forget Joey. The name on everybody's lips should be Chrissy.

She had a "don't mess with me" look to her.

Joey was a Bad Girl who looked like a Good Girl.

Before she got all tarted-up. She was sort of the precursor to Pia Zadora.
Oh well, girl's gotta make a living.

I only know her because she guest starred on Laverne & Shirley in one of the later LA-set seasons. I remember asking my mom who she was and she was hard pressed to come up with actual examples of her work.

Joey was a fixture on 1960-1970s television, having appeared on numerous variety shows, starting with a semi-regular part on The Perry Como Show, as a freshly-scrubbed teen with a crush on Como, then later on The Dean Martin Show, all grown up and sex kittenish. She became known for her wild, suggestive dancing, which some television audiences found too risqué, but got her booked many times on the Tonight Show and on Bob Hope's USO tours to Vietnam.
