His recorded vocals are compressed aka autotuned. Barbra uses it too - for the last 15 years.
He does have a voice that should have been out there before he was 45 years old. Jason CAN sing and he has a fine range. He should have gone the Rumor Willis route and just sang at trendy L.A. clubs and swanky old school nightclubs like the Carlyle. (Mario Cantone is there now:) People would be very happy to come see Jason and then surprised by his considerable vocal talent and emotive delivery.
He either didn't have the confidence to pursue it that way, or Barbaric Streusel said NO.

Barbra is not a nice person. Her sister Roslyn sounds EXACTLY like her, if not a bit better now and Barbaric Streizand sabotaged her singing career every step of the way for 50 years. Suddenly when BS can't sing anymore and only raspily croak off key - she develops the noblesse to introduce her sister and son to the public and ALLOW them to sing with her? Barabas Streizand is an egotistical PIG and always has been. When they did sing on her tour, Streizand put her hand up like some proud mother - can you believe they sound so great Barbara explains about her 48 year old son and 65 year old sister? Like she didn't personally sabotage one and cripple the other.
The only good reason to be related to Babs Streisale is for the discount she gives you on her hand me downs.

Seems like a good guy. Imagine your whole life, everything is about your mother, who, more than just a celebrity, is a fucking icon/diva/legend. And you're the only child. People you meet, one question on their mind (what's mother like), and it's weird if they DON'T ask. I assume Jason came to terms with all that a very long time ago. And Babs seems to have been a warm mother despite how busy she must have been throughout his childhood.
He does have a nice voice. And he had a memorable little moment for me in the movie The Big Picture. He plays a slick young aspiring Hollywood agent or director, I forget which. Kevin Bacon, whose movie deal is tanking, is gamely talking up how his project just got greenlit or something. "Oh?" says Jason. "That's not what I heard." So perfectly cunty. I use that line, with his delivery, to this day.
