Jason Fox, a gay 19 year old went to meet up with friends, texting to make sure someone that he didn’t feel safe around wasn’t going to be there. His name was Riley. Jason’s “friend” assured him that Riley wasn’t going to be there. Jason sent a text to another friend with the address “just in case.” When Jason showed up, Riley was there and Jason was brutally beaten and buried in a shallow grave, still clinging to life. Cause of death “blunt force trauma to the head.”

Since then, Riley brought an AK47 to a remembrance parade for Jason, Jason’s memorial has been vandalized with gay slurs, his mom has been torn apart and harassed by the murderers’ family, and the town refuses to have a pride parade in Jason’s honor.

When did this happen? THIS PAST NOVEMBER in Newport, Washington. Jason’s story continues and his mom fights for justice, the court date for his murderers is next month, a few days after what would have been Jason’s birthday.

Jason was planning on going to nursing school in two months. He had a future, a life, and it was taken from him because of hatred for his identity. This is why it matters what we say, what we do, what we post, what we teach. Hate has real and deadly consequences. I’ve said that before and I’ll say it again. This is why we paint on rainbows, fly our flags, and walk side by side with each other. This is why we have Pride.

It’s funny how you never hear about stuff like this happening to lesbians or bisexual women, even though they swear that they’re just as hated as gay MEN

I'm glad that this pile of garbage apparently got the caliber of lawyer he deserved. However, I'm now worried the guy is such a moron that he clearly made some sort of error that will allow this guy a new trial which results in his getting out on a technicality.

What? There was a lesbian couple killed recently by the co-worker of one of the women. I think they both worked at McDonald's.
