He was well before my time so wasn't familiar with him, fascinating stuff. Never quite realized he was in many ways one of the first gay celebrities, starred in the first gay porn movies and had that masculine sex appeal that all the boys loved.

Rich kid who goes from theater, to leading gay porn star, to a leading straight porn star, to married to a celebrity lady and doing various entertainment gigs.

It is interesting that he maintains that he is definitely gay, and the first time he had sex with a woman was on camera for one of his films. Definitely makes me look at gay for pay crowd definitely when he was very much straight for pay star.

And his marriage man! Deciding he gets along with this lady so a relationship is about more than sex, and his honest admissions on how he struggled with fucking guys on the side and tried to stop.

His life was definitely unique, it would actually make a fascinating biopic or TV series.

I wasn't alive then so I don't know if this is true but if I had to hazard a guess I'd say the whole TOP / BOTTOM thing became a big deal because of the stigma of HIV? I wish somebody would do a good doc on the ways that the HIV epidemic changed our world - like our very thinking about sex, our entire culture, it was all transformed

For being a trained theater actor, he wasn't actually a very convincing actor. Both wooden and hammy at the same time.

"Top/Bottom" isn't new; it's always been around but I think in the olden days, we were versatile because most of us realized that doing both gave you a lot more fun options in bed. I think most people have a preference of one or the other but if you're playing with the right person and you both trust each other, doing everything just leads to hours and hours of fun.
