Is it possible Barbara Walters has died?

How could she still be alive? And why would her daughter conceal the death from us? Maybe it was Baba Wawa’s wishes that she have no memorial. But I guess it would be public record. She hasn’t been seen in public in years. If some caretaker/nurse could get a current picture of her and sell it, she could retire.

My grandmother lasted into her late 90s with Alzheimer’s—it can be a very long decline, sadly, and it would explain why she’s no longer out in public.

I just relistened to a Kathy Griffin book, which had the Alzheimer Condo story- basically, Barbara, Judge Judy, Cindy Williams and Joan Rivers had a pact to share a condo when they were very elder, to share a dog walker and care staff.
I think she's being exquisitely cared for.

R32, she was really good at hiding it- the doctors say it likely started in her 50’s and was undiagnosed for DECADES! She would absolutely interrogate you, kept reams of journals, and was paranoid and suspicious. She made horrible financial decisions and blamed everyone else. The truth is anywhere along the way she could’ve reached out and asked for help- but instead drove everyone away, caused lots of festering resentment in my brother, and refused to cede even the smallest amount of control over anything. We knew that she knew something was very wrong with her memory because of the way the journals were written and she was careful to hide them. Exasperated, one day I told her, “it’s alright if you don’t know the answer, but stop pretending you do”. And she changed after that. She’s mellowed out and in a nursing home now, but it really was a very trying 20 years of dealing with it and I wouldn’t wish dementia or Parkinson’s on my worst enemy.
It must be terrifying.

OP, I have to ask, why is it any of your business how and where Barbara Walters is? I am getting older myself; I cannot walk I once did, and I would consider it a personal affront for someone to explore details about my condition. My family is taking care of me. They provide what I cannot provide myself, and the last thing I want to know is someone is overly curious about me. The people I wish to know about it were selected by me to know.
I can't imagine someone taking my picture in the condition I am in and share it with others. It is heartless. How could you ask?
