I wrote this in another thread, but Michelle Pfeiffer and Sharon Stone are exactly the same age as Madonna and they both look fabulous because they got a tasteful minimum of work done and still look like themselves. Madonna has no excuse.

Michelle Pfeiffer definitely had a facelift years ago when she “took time off to be a mother.” But she was always gorgeous and so far she has been smart enough to just age in recent years. She doesn’t look young. She looks like a beautiful older woman. She has not fucked up her eyes, which really can be the death knell that makes a person look like an accident victim. She has wrinkles and crevices—and who cares? Who wouldn’t rather look like a beautiful old person than a lab-created monster?

I doubt seriously she's had four facelifts. Few people, especially aged 61 could even tolerate that many facelifts. But she's absolutely had at least one, maybe two. And to be clear, a facelift is the bottom third of the face. She may or may not have also had a brow lift. She's certainly had too much filler. She looks too puffy. She needs to let all that shit absorb into her body and if she's going to continue with filler, she needs to let someone do a more conservative protocol on her.

R18, I agree completely. People underestimate the disfiguring effects of excessive filler injections. It's a major problem and one that's on the rise. I suspect that her greedy injector is convincing her that this is a good look and that she should continue to overfill her face. Over time, fillers can affect the lymphatics of the face and cause permanent swelling. Not a good look.

I’ve said it here before and people here seem to agree: good, old-fashioned, traumatic, highly invasive facelifts are the best option for the vain. They turn out so much better than the freakifying contemporary technologies.
Dixie Carter said she had a facelift right before she began Designing Women and “it was the best decision of my life.” She was playing a sultry fiftysomething while the fiftysomethings of the Golden Girls were playing old ladies.

It’s amazing that Norma Desmond comes across as so grotesque given that she is basically normal looking, and nowadays real-life Norma Desmonds like Madonna have actually turned themselves into monsters on the outside.
It’s like people were sitting around wondering what Norma would look like if her face reflected her spirit and Madonna was jealous they weren’t talking about her and so she ordered up all the surgeries it would take to make their nightmares come true.

Our facial bones and muscles atrophy as we age just like other bones and muscles in our body. So with overuse of fillers what you essentially get is blobs of volume without good structural support underneath to support it. That's why you get this doughy, immobile look because unlike facial muscles and fat, the fillers are not connected to underlying bone structure. It's also made worse by concurrent use of botox because botox further immobilizes the face.
Madge knows she looks odd but she's one of those women who'd rather look odd than look old with wrinkles, volume loss, and sagging. She's this generation's Joan Rivers, only known to a generation as an old celebrity who looks weird from too much plastic surgery.

This picture makes it look more like fillers than a full facelift.
Also, her Instagram is filtered and messed with and makes her look awful. She had photos of herself in the black wig and looked like an alien, but when the video she shot that day came out, she looked far more normal, just overly Botoxed but still human.

Madonna did her first procedures while in her late 30s. But I don’t think she really went for major overhaul with face lifts of various types and eye lifts until she was closer to mid-40s. By Hollywood standards she did it too late because now the advice is for stars to get mini facelifts when they’re still in their 30s. Rationale is by doing that you avoid the sudden change of a full facelift. Techniques are constantly improving and refined too. I think Jennifer Lopez is one of the early adopters of the earlier is better philosophy.
I’m guessing Madonna had the latest techniques for one of her earlier facelifts but perhaps it didn’t turn out perfectly. This is why you always want to wait a few years for surgeons to do more cases of these newer techniques so that they refine and tweak their skills. Also, when you have too much time and money and your procedures don’t turn out the way you’d expected, you end up chasing perfection that will never be. Thus is where Madonna is right now.
