I have a jade tree, some clivia, and several ferns that were given to me that are at least 50 years old. Orchids and some cacti can live for over a hundred.

Do snake plants ever die? Whether they are watered or not, they’re always alive

Some people inherit their grandparent's houseplants...that lived for a few decades. I think that's rare. My oldest plant is over 18 years old. It's a rubber plant. R8...I've killed snake plants, even though I was careful about not overwatering. They like some neglect..good for people who forget to water. I have had no luck with them, though. I have hoyas that are about 10 years old, another plant (don't know the name) about the same age. I've tried many plants...even the "easy" ones and have had no luck. Whatever lives, I take care of them and they've lasted a few years.

Just remembered...my mother bought a log at the 1965 World's Fair that grew into a palm tree. That thing lived 40+ years. I had it for a while, then my sister took it. It finally died...but that palm tree lived a very long life.

well.......I can't tell you about house plants.......but just try to kill a bougainvillea or a crepe myrtle in your yard.........I swear they must be immortal..........just try to get rid of one......(of either).........."make their day" so to speak............

You have to nurture the plants. Move them. And never get mad at the dirt.

I have a black thumb. I’ve drowned a cactus. But my mother has a jade plant she received as a gift in 1967 that is still alive and looking good.

I have a Venus Flytrap that is at least 60 years old. My son Sebastian was very fond of it, perhaps too fond.

Apparently your houseplants are doing better than your cognitive and language skills are, Totie.
